  1. Turned out she was from England visiting ! I hope she figures out what side of the road we drive on.
  2. I have all those mods on my car and when we did a pre tune dyno run everything was fine . It just had air fuel mix problems at high RPM . I would suggest staying below 4800RPM until you get that tune. As you can see the air fuel mix fell off fast around 4700 RPM . After the tune the air fuel mix was flat at 12.9 .

    Ford Edge RS

I have found out some info on upcoming Ford crossovers and now I believe that the most we will ever see in an Edge will be the 3L TT with 400 HP. I say this because Ford is working on a performance orientated Mustang Crossover. It will feature the new Explorer rear drive architecture with Mustang inspired 4 door styling and engine variants equal to all but the most extreme Shelby models = V8.
  4. Dieselboy if you what the best, the real deal and you have the bucks, look into Rotora Brakes. As far as I know they are the only company making a real BBK for the Edge. All the others offer stock diameter rotors and pads for stock calipers. Although these parts are upgraded over stock they are not a real BBK. With Rotora you can get 6 piston calipers and 15inch slotted or cross drilled rotors. The electric parking brake will still work as well . I am not sure if the offer still stands but if you call Rotora and talk to Loren tell him Xtra sent you and you might save a few bucks. I have thrashed for hours on mine and they have never over heated or faded. I went to the canyons with another Edge owner with stock brakes and within 4 miles his had over heated and started to fade. He could smell them cooking in his car and I could smell them as well in my car that was following him. We had to pull over and take a break to let things cool off. They were so hot that we were both amazed and a bit frightened. My Rotoras were just getting warmed up.
  5. I have found that the transmission in my car( also a 2016 AWD Edge Sport ) will shift harder when it is cold and it takes longer to heat up the trans to operating temperature than the engine. I try not to apply much power until everything is fully warmed up. We have had a cold snap here the last week or two with ice on the car and overnight temps dropping to 28* to 32*F a couple of days. On those days I noticed that it took longer to warm up the car and it took the transmission a lot longer to warm up and start shifting smooth. Now I know that those temperatures are not that bad compared to other parts of the world but that is cold for California . Perhaps part of your problem has to do with the cold and driving bit hard before the transmission is fully warmed up. You might also look into a transmission service. A transmission flush will replace all the fluid in the trans and the convertor . While a service where they drop the pan and replace the filter will only change the fluid in the transmission and leave the old fluid in the convertor. Another thing that could be done that might help is to reset the computer because it is a learning type and adjusts the transmission to how you drive over time. That is something you can do yourself it just takes a little time and a 10 mm open end wrench. Read the complete page one of the link for clearing the computer and reboot instructions. No promises any of this will work . It is a lot less expensive than a new transmission.

Very nice, It is good to see some Edge Sport swag out there. This is a great idea to have a cup for the the car that matches and is personalized. I have a few questions: Is it thermal insulated with a coffee lid ? Can these be made to color match mine or others cars ? Can the text be personalize ?
  7. This is very early and I am letting the cat out of the bag and most of the time that is not a good thing ... I have started to make a mold for a new Sight Shield to increase air flow to the snorkel . I have not yet decided as to vacuum form or compost lay up. As this will take some effort to properly design and fabricate I will give updates from time to time as progress is made. At this point it is just an experiment.
  8. I have the 60 Duro RMM in my Edge and although it has stopped wheel hop in first gear upon launch . I still have wheel hop with the second gear shift.
  9. What canyons do you speak of?
  10. The JLT can is the way to go in CA as it is super easy to install and convert back to stock. The RX can is much more involved to install and once in you won't want to remove it.
  11. Those exhaust cutouts are awesome. Love it!!!
  12. A couple more photos of this set up. This wheel and tire combo costs around $3,100 or $3,200 installed + or -- a few bucks. BD makes several different wheel designs that cost about the same and should fit just as well.
  13. Just got back from Galpin where they had an 2018 Edge Sport with 22X10.5 - BD 11 wheels with 285X35R22 Toyo Proxex tires. It was lowered with H&R Springs.
  14. Yes go for it. Starting with photoshop is a good idea. I think it was Nick that photoshopped larger tips on my car. Thanks Nick for doing that . After seeing those I had to upgrade and go bigger and I am happy I did. I have 3 and 4 inch stainless duel tips with 2.5 inch inlet available to sell at discounted prices to anyone interested.
  15. Thanks, I had to remove the bezel and cut the mounts for it off so there is no going back unless I buy a new valance. Also I have the MRT Axle Back duel muffler system installed so there was more to it than just adding tips to the stock system.
  16. Last, some eye candy on display at the Galpin Ford Showroom. Not for sale !
  17. I live in sunny California it is not supposed to get cold here unless you are in the mountains. This morning everything was frozen.. Crazy for So Cal.
  18. I also had GAS wrap the exhaust pipe coming out of the cat with header heat shield wrap to help keep things cooler in the engine compartment . Snmjim gave me the idea to do this . It should help keep the transaxle, oil pan and PTU cooler as well.
  19. Nick to install the 4 inch tips we would have had to cut the rear valance and redo the exhaust pipes. It was way more work than just swapping to different tips. Without a doubt they would have looked better than they did if we had cut them into the valance to get them to fit proper and adjusted the pipes to proper length. There is plenty of room on the outside edge it is the inside edge where they touch and needs trimming just a little . I have a brand new 4 inch Stainless steel, double wall. staggered duel tip set if you are interested to take them off my hands. I will give you a deal. For that matter anyone interested in them please message me.
  20. Had Galpin Auto Sports do a few things today. First I had the 3 inch duel tips replaced with larger 3 1/2 inch tips. The 3 inch tips that I originally put on the car looked ok but the 3.5 inch duel tips look much better. They fill the space and look aggressive without looking too big or having to cut to make them fit like the 4 inch tips would. I had 4 inch tips available to look at and test fit and they were just overkill .To me the 4 inch looked like rice fodder but to each their own. . At this point I have test fit 3, 3.5, and 4 inch duel stageared slant cut tips . IMHO the 3.5 are the way to go.
  21. I just took some advice dmjarosz gave me. There was a squeak coming from the bushings of my new rear sway bar and yes silicone grease was used when it was installed. What I did to stop the squeak was put plumbers teflon tape , ( you know that white tape used to seal threads ) around the sway bar and greased that for insurance , then installed the bushings over it. This worked like a champ no more annoying squeaks. So thanks to dmjarosz , it works great !
