Congrats awesome car!!

Just had a 7.1 earthquake here in the Los Angeles area. It lasted a good 40 seconds or so. Rolling for a long time. It was larger than yesterday’s quake. As far as I know there was no damage to.my house. I was not home when it happened . Welcome to California ?

Thanks for the photo. It looks like it could possibly help cool the brakes some as well.
-
Ouch That sucks. I hope no one was injured and the damage is minimal and just cosmetic.
-
Looking good. Without a doubt this is an improvement over stock. How about a photo of the fog punch out . Can you see it from the front of the car?
-
So far all the reviews have been very positive on the 2020 Explorer ST.

Snmjim and Special_K with all the companies and engineers out there one would think that they would of figured out a good High Performance intake for the G2 Edge Sport by now.... But Nooo. It took you and your son to come up with the answer . I am so impressed with your design, build and skill set. So impessed that I decided to let the cat out of the bag and show what I built and have been running for the past few months. In mho it would complement what you have accomplished and help create an entire system.

Even better yet having two sources to feed the beast. It should work better than stock even if only a small amount of air comes in from the fog punch out. You have eliminated the snorkel and that alone should be of value.

Interesting series, I encourage you to continue testing other oil additives as there are so many to choose from.

Interesting I like it. Are you going to remove a light in front or cut a hole to access outside air? Or is that the intake just as it is? It is a very direct route how you have it and that's good.
-
Yes I see that now my bad. I do believe that snmjim or Special_K will hit 110 or more very soon in their Monster Edge Sport. It is just a matter of time.

That’s the first 110mph that I have seen. That race fuel and tune work.

Extended Service/Warranty: to buy or not to buy
Xtra replied to luxpow's topic in Recalls, TSBs & Warranty
If you plan to keep your car for years to come it is not a bad idea . One big item and it pays for itself. I bet that adaptive steering problem cost a bit . I had that problem and the entire steering wheel was replaced. -
Extended Service/Warranty: to buy or not to buy

As was the battery in my 2016. The battery is small to save weight and space and has to work hard. -
Mine are the option three, 380mm 6 piston front and 350mm 4 piston rear . In fact those are photos of my car getting the brakes installed at Rotora. I have the OEM 21 inch rims.
-
Congratulations! Tell me about them . What color are the calipers and what disc did you get? Did you get the brake lines to go with them ? As for the install I live about an hour away from Rotora so I had Loren install them at the time of purchase. Sorry I can't help you with that . As mine was the first ever with the electric parking brake I do remember that to install/ mount it some minor mod to the car was done. Talk to Loran about that if it comes up during the install . They may have changed things by now. If you have the skills and tools you might go for it yourself otherwise any good shop can handle it.

First congrats on the new ST . The license plater bracket has to be drilled out . After you drill out the rivets you will need to plug the holes. There are a few choices when doing this. I got some black plugs for the holes at Pep Boys or you can get color matched plugs online. https://www.bumperplugs.com/index.php?route=product/category&path=1_11 https://www.ebay.com/bhp/license-plate-hole-cover I used something similar to these low price plugs. Well here you are, two choices to get you started. I am sure there are others plugs available, just have to look a bit.

When I bought my car I got a extended maintenance plan and warranty . I get oil changes, wipers, filters including the cabins , brakes possibly some other things as well. All covered. I just drop it off and they do everything no charge. Tires are not covered .
-
Wow that is disappointing , Every time I take my car in for an oil change at the dealership I get what they call the" Works " at no extra charge it includes : * Oil change and filter Synthetic blend unless I pay more for Full synthetic. • Tire Rotation and Pressure Check • Brake Inspection • Vehicle Checkup .. This is where they get into the OBD Port • Fluid Top-Off • Battery Test • Filter Check • Belts and Hoses Check They do more than this . They do an entire undercharge check as well including drive line, suspension, check for leaks and exhaust system. And I get a report as well. Vista Ford takes good care of me. I guess we do get more love in the West.. LOl
-
You are correct , but what happens if they do a diagnostic check using the OBD port just to see if any codes pop up?
-
As I understand if you have a tune and your window won't go up that will be covered. But if you have a tune and you twist an axle or do any damage that could of been caused by the tune such as drivetrain damage then they might not cover it. I just found this: In a Consumer Alert issued by the Federal Trade Commission (FTC), the agency confirmed that “The Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act makes it illegal for companies to void your warranty or deny coverage under the warranty simply because you used an aftermarket part. The dealer/vehicle manufacturer has the right to deny a warranty repair but they must first demonstrate that the aftermarket part caused the problem. The warranty remains in effect for all other covered parts.
-
Heads up for car owners under factory warranty with a tune . Be sure you put the car back to stock tune whenever you take the car to the dealer . Even for an oil change . If the dealer finds out you have a tune you can jeaporize your warranty.
-
Nice videos, With the tune I can hear the tires fighting for traction and the engine has a snarl to it.
