  1. Mine started leaking at 24K I now have 24.8k. . Also I am not sure there is a gasket, RTV is all they use to seal it . That is why it has to be de-greased completely before install and has to cure before use. I have a place that will cast for $16 per pound no set up fee. So if anyone has a pan sitting around that they don’t want let me know. I can get it cast in aluminum machine it and add an O ring possibly .
  2. I agree. It is an easy fix but it takes time to do correctly. The oil has to completely drain out after the pan is removed . Mine was left overnight then it was completely de greased before reassembly.
  3. I asked for my old pan but I was told because it was a warranty item it had to go back to Ford. My plan was to have it sand cast in aluminum and machine as necessary. I just looked at Tasca Parts and the 2017- 2018 F-150 2.7 still had the plastic pan listed . Perhaps it was the 3.5EB that got the metal pan.
  4. Apparently the oil pan is a problem on the 2.7 . I believe it is because of the different expansion rates of the metal engine and the plastic oil pan. The lesson here is to just check the dipstick to see if you have fresh oil after an oil pan leak service. If the oil is still dirty they did not replace the oil pan as Ford recommends.
  5. The first time the dealer just put RTV (a ton of it ) all around the oil pan in hopes of a quick fix. I busted their chops for taking such a shortcut as soon as I picked up the car. I figured it out by checking the oil dipstick, the car still had the used oil in it so I know that the oil pan had not been replaced.I told them that it was a temporary fix at best and just a bandaid. That is something one would expect from a lowball or not so honest mechanic. Their fix did not last as expected. This time I made sure that they did the job correctly . I copied a post from this forum that had Fords message to the dealers on the problem and how to fix it . I showed this to the service manager and explained to him I know what's up and that their first fix was BS. Just to make sure I read it to him on how to fix the problem so there would be no confusion. The problem with the dealer and the oil pan is fixed. Thanks to this forum for the information.
  6. Just had my oil changed at 2400miles. Not because I wanted to but because I had a oil leak and had to have the oil pan replaced . I also had a bad seal on my front right axle that was leaking. The problems were fixed under warranty at no charge,
  7. This is why I gave my source for the info and I am not convinced that the information is accurate. I do like the idea of the 3.0TT in an Edge though.
  8. From September / October 2019 Automobile Magazine : Following on the heals of the new 2020 Explorer ST powered by the 3.0L twin turbo V6 an all new Edge ST will migrate to the Explorer's rear drive platform and get the same 3.0TT engine with 400HP and 415 TQ within a couple years .
  9. It was hot today and I had to be out in it for 3 hour while working . Check this out 124*F in the sun when I got in the car. It was really only 105*F in the shade. Yes I know the car is dirty, it needs some TLC.
  10. Agree, the same on my 2016 Sport. The TPMS know where they are located and nothing needs to be done, even when replacing all the tires with new ones. It's completely automatic and that video is not for your car.
  11. Be sure to turn off the traction control.
  12. Yes all of that plus a Turbosmart BOV, Reische 170* Tstat, RamFab cold side pipe, BBK 65mmTB and air intake mods W/ aFe filter.
  13. The ST looks good from the back. 2019-Ford-Edge-ST-15.jpg.jp2 2019-Ford-Edge-ST-rear-1.jpg.jp2
  14. To install the tips on a Sport the chrome bezels have to be removed. Not sure on the ST if removal of the bezels will help or not
  15. Some of us have added quad tips to extend the exhaust pipes. The tips can be installed on stock or aftermarket exhaust systems. As far as I know no one has done this to an ST yet. These are 3inch tips in the photo. I swapped them out for 3 1/2 inch tips and they look much better. 3 1/2 inch quad tips are what I recommend if you decide to do this. There is a thread on this subject here someplace for more info
  16. It is normal on DI engines like the EB for a dry black soot to collect on the exhaust tip.
  17. The I Lve my 2016 Edge Sport . It is faster and handles way better than my 6.6L Trans Am ever did. It is quicker than my 1965 C10 with a custom built big cam high performance 350, rock crusher trans and huge Mickey Thomson’s . It has more luxuries than any car I have ever owned and it runs like a fine Swiss watch. What is not to like ?
  18. "Necessity is the mother of invention"
  19. HAhahah LOL 2013 . Man, I have to talk to my Doc about adjusting the meds.
  20. Trimmed to shape and covered with bondo it is ready to sand, paint and install. Although the finish is not perfect it fits well and works with the grill mods I already have. Been using it for a couple months now and it is better than stock according to my butt Dyno .. LOL , and will continue to use it . Now all I need is a " SS intake " Thats the snmjim & Special_K intake recently developed and I will have a complete system.
  21. The idea of this is to allow more volume under the sight shield for better air flow. After I covered the clay with aluminum foil and extended the edges with foam core, clear packing tape covered the entire thing as the release agent. Several layers of fiberglass cloth and mat were then applied.
  22. Although I posted the finished project in another thread I thought I would follow up with what I started here . This is the clay after shaping. I made sure the hood would close and used small worms of clay to check hood clearance. You can see where the closed hood smashed the worms and how much space I have left. I did this every inch across the entire form.
  23. Hello Bob C I was wondering what year, engine and model Edge you have? This info will help others that are interested in this TB mod.
  24. Looking good I like that you insulated the air box and added the flex hose, nice touch. Now as you said "off to the patent office " .
