I agree with your father the V8 is buttery smooth compared to a V6 or I4. When I jump into my V8 car after driving my Edge the difference is huge. The V6 Edge is faster and gets better milage but the V8 car is smooooooth and has more torque off the line. V8 engines run smoother than many other engine configurations because the engine produces a power stroke every 90 degrees, whereas the 4-cylinder engine produces a power stroke every 180 degrees and the 6-cylinder engine produces a power stroke every 120 degrees. The large displacement big block V8 produces gobs of torque at very low RPM making for a great smooth effortless ride, the engine is just loafing along not working hard at all.

Did you even look before you replied? That is a X3M forum. You should check it out. .https://x3.xbimmers.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=695

CRJ did you get the brakes ?

LOL, perhaps you should go here now that you sold your Edge. https://x3.xbimmers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1441214

Cold Air intake for 2020 Edge ST??????

Just as well, you cannot buy a CAI for the Edge anyway. They are not commercially available at this time. -
Cold Air intake for 2020 Edge ST??????
Xtra replied to Shadow ST's topic in Accessories & Modifications
As I posted before CAI do make HP. For every 10* F you can reduce the air temp you gain 1% power. So if you are using under hood air that is 170* and you can get 70* outside air into the engine then you are looking at a 10% increase in HP. On a 2020 ST with 335HP thats a 33.5HP gain. Snmjim and I have both attacked the CAI intake problem different ways with self made and designed CAI. I believe his is a better approach, but by using both of our designs together I believe one could achieve maximum results. . Snmjim's is so well done that adding my sight cover may make little difference but it defiantly would not hurt. The ST and Sport have what I call a restricted warm air intake and improvements can be made in flow and temperature that produce real HP. -

Can you please mention it here as well if catted pipes come available.

Long ago it became clear that the fueling system had become a choke point to higher horsepower with the 2.7EB, but no parts were available to do anything about it. Did that stop you? Nooooooo..Once again snmjim you are leading the way with new performance parts for the Edge with the Xtreme-DI HPFP and HiPo Injectors. . Thank you.
-
Sorry I did not make myself clear. I understand that you have to use the stock injectors while you wait for the new ones to become available. So If the new ones are not the 1,700cc Deatschwerks injectors that we spoke of, then I am assuming that the new injectors will be designed specifically for the 2.7EB. That would be great because so far there are no HiPo injectors that are made specifically for the 2.7EB.
-
If they are not the injectors we spoke of then this is great news as that means that the new injectors should be specific and propitiatory.
-
Snmjim. Are these the HiPo injectors we spoke about a couple months ago that you are referring to.

True cold air intakes do work and are highly effective at highway speeds. Every 10*F temperature drop it is worth a 1% power gain. For example if the air temp is 170*F under the hood and ambient air is 70*F then there is a 100*F difference, thats a 10% power gain. On a 325HP ST that equates to a 32.5HP. On snmjims car thats more like 50HP. This assumes a correct air fuel mix and little to no air flow resistance. It is also important to have the air move into a sealed air box before it goes into the engine. The box acts as a manifold and provides smooth air to the engine. The stock Edge has what I call a restrictive warm air intake so gains will be less than if it was drawing air from only under the hood. But substantial gains can still be made with the addition of a true CAI like snmjim has made here. This is such an elegant design that it should be made available commercially.

Several of us have drilled out the rivets holding the bracket and then plugged the holes .There are plugs that have matching paint(expensive) or you can just use black plugs from Pep Boys ( budget ). https://www.bumperplugs.com/index.php?route=product/category&path=1_11 I just used the black ones.

I can only imagine. There have been many safety improvements made, unfortuinatly they were learned the hard way. I would not hesitate to ride in one.

We are the only country with the technology to build such an aircraft, not we are the only country to have them. I guess I did not make that clear.

A couple of awesome Ospreys on their way north to Point Mugu Naval Base. The good ol' USA is the only country to have this technology.

I had the exact same problem with mine, the deeper horn failed and what was left was pathetic sounding. Good news is it is a super easy fix and not that expensive . Here is a thread on duel horns that will answer most of if not all of your questions . It even has a great instal video. I think I paid $25 USD for a new duel horn. I have found two different horns that will fit your 2016 edge, both will work fine. First is part # FA1Z-13832-A LEVEL 3 @ Aprox $28USD . Second is part # FA1Z-13832-B LEVEL 2 @ Around $16USD. Both can be found at tascaparts.com. I am guessing that the difference between Level 2 & 3 is what model Edge you have . My guess is that the more expensive LEV 3 went on the Titanium . Oh, and welcome to the forum

Mine are the Rotora Street Challenge brakes listed above. All the specs are the same except I have 4 piston calipers in the rear and I use the Ceramic pads. Loran is the man to ask for at Rotora and please mention Xtra sent you from this site. I receive nothing but you might get a substantial discount on your purchase . They also make non drilled slotted rotors that are stronger than the drilled ones but I like the look of the drilled rotors and I have personally put them to the test. I know for a fact that the stock brakes faded, smoked and smelled up the place on my friends car while my Rotoras were happy and asking for more when charging through my backyard canyons. These are top shelf brakes and the price reflects that. The electric parking brake stays intact as does the ABS. You can get the calipers in different colors as well. -
Brake fluid has hygroscopic properties - meaning that it absorbs moisture ( water ) during its life in your car through the pipes, hoses and joints that it lubricates. As the water content in the brake fluid increases, the temperature the liquid boils at decreases. This can cause air bubbles to form in the lines. Here is a link to some info on this subject. https://www.nwherald.com/sponsored/articles/2016/03/18/33804857/
