  1. The jig is clamped to the crossvise on the drill press and is aligned . It has to be aligned up and down, right to left, and in and out. The clamping board aligns the lid to the drill so that it is parallel to the base of the lid.
  2. The work on the lids continues with drilling more holes in them. This time for the Aux Air Intake input hole that the flex hose feeds fresh air to. It takes several different jigs to build the V3, and this is the one that is used to drill the Aux Air Intake fresh air input hole. The blue circles make assembly easy.as they help line up the lid. The lid is bolted to the jig Lots of blue painters tape to protect the lid from scratching The odd shape of the clamping board on the bottom offsets the lid into proper alignment with the drill
  3. And so it begins….. Decided to start with the lids and drill some holes. First thing was to drill something easy. The mounting holes for the Aux Air 6061 tube that the Flex Hose attaches to. As the build continues I will be showing work on one unit, but the same work is performed on the entire run. More work was completed on the lids today, but I ran out of time to post it all.
  4. All the parts have arrived. I am posting photos of most of the parts needed to assemble the V3. This is the first run in 2023. It takes a lot of time and work to build the V3.it is the cost of these parts that sets the price of the V3. My labor is free. This is not all of the materials and parts, but it gives a good idea what it takes. Genuine Ford Parts are used wherever possible. The vacuum formed ABS. Ready to be made into the V3 Adaptor. Work will start on Monday, it will only be a couple hours a day, and I will post progress reports.
  5. Just received word from the plastic shop that they will vacuum form the Adaptors next week. Still waiting for the Air Temp Sensors to arrive as well. But it looks as though it will all come together sometime next week. At that point fabrication can begin. There is still one V3 available in this run.
  6. Just picked up a new 6 inch dial caliper. After many years my old set of calipers finally gave up after I dropped them one too many times. I prefer dial calipers to the digital as no battery is needed, and they always work when you need them .... Unless you drop them and they get a bend in them . lol Almost all of the parts have arrived, but still waiting on the plastic shop to deliver the Adaptor blanks. A good set of calipers is needed to build the V3 as the parts need to fit air tight and holes need to be drilled spot on. These should provide years of service.
  7. Happy Easter !!! I am going to have one extra Adaptor molded just in case.
  8. It is good for me to to start building the V2 And V3 again now that it is spring and the weather is getting better. It forces me to get out of the rocking chair and do something constructive...lol Soon that parts will start arriving and fabrication can begin.
  9. Thanks to everyone for your support. I will be documenting the fabrication here. There is still time to get in on this run of V3 CAI.
  10. Starting up the first batch of V3 Cold Air Intakes for 2023 on this Monday 04/03. PM me if you’re interested in reserving one.. The V3 CAI fits: Edge ST and Sport.equipped with the 2.7L - EB engine . All years.
  11. Hello Mustangvert91, As far as I know there are three off the shelf options at this time for the ST and Sport with the 2.7EB . 1. The MRT axel back system . Replaces the suitcase muffler. I have this on my car and when on the highway it is quiet, but as soon as you go up a mild incline on the highway a drone kicks in that I don't care for. the only way I can get rid of it is to downshift or put the car in Sport mode. On the other hand it does give a good aggressive sound when accelerating The link is tp MRT they can be found for less https://www.shopmrt.com/category-s/2331.htm 2. The Borla Cat-Back Exhaust System It is a 2 1/4 inch system that I believe will fit the 2.7EB Sport as well . The most expensive option. MSRP is around $1900 can be found on Amazon for around $1500 https://www.borla.com/products/ford-edge-st-cat-back-exhaust-system-140766 3. The aFe Vulcan Series 2 1/2in Cat-Back I think this will also fit the 2.7 Sport MSRP around $1100 I have seen it advertised on sale for around $875 https://afepower.com/afe-power-49-33133-vulcan-series-2-1-2-in-304-stainless-steel-cat-back-exhaust-system =========================================== 4. Custom make one to order at your local muffler shop
  12. Yea my spelling is not the strongest. Still enjoyed it, don’t think that Macan owner did though. Lol It was almost as good as that guy in a Range Rover Sport SVR who offered me $500 if I could take him . I said “not a bet just $500 if I beat you” he agreed and I took his cash. ?. The Edge Sport / ST - 2.7EB has great potential and if not overbuilt can run low 4 sec 0 to 60 reliably , and still be an everyday driver. Just have to know how to pick your victims and who to stay away from.
  13. Got hungry and went out looking for something to eat today, had a Porsche Macon GTS for lunch. lol
  14. Have sent you a message .
  15. Today got an oil change , tires rotated and all systems checked out good. Also had the transmission shifter cable bushing recall completed. The Sport is now ready for a upcoming road trip to San Diego. Happy New Year !!!
  16. May you never forget what is worth remembering or remember what is best forgotten ... Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays. Xtra
  17. Great news !!! A Christmas Miracle: "IRS Delays $600 Reporting Rule For PayPal And Venmo". My tax problems are solved. Now I won't get slammed for building the V2 or V3 for forum members. I will have to be very carful and run my hobby like a business in 2023 or I will get taxed to the max.
  18. Thanks for the great review and taking the time to submit the update. So glad you like it. Happy Holidays!! Standard V3 V3 with Aux Air installed
  19. They have great prices on name brand wheels like Savini and Forgestar. These two companies offer large offsets like our 21X9 +55 OEM wheels, as well as free shipping on many. I am looking at 20X10 +54 by Savini and 21X10 + 52 by Forgestar. These offsets will keep the wheel under the finder and not change the suspension set up much.
  20. There is still time to get a V2 before years end. Only a few remain In stock and ready to ship. PM me for info.
  21. Your Borla system appear to be installed correctly , The Borla and MRT systems are similar from the axel back with twin mufflers. This is the MRT axel back system on my Sport. There is no way to tuck them up higher and still have room for the mufflers. I am considering installing the aFe Vulcan 2 1/2 inch cat back system, dumping their transverse muffler and retaining my MRT axel back because I prefer the look and sound of it. I like the Borla system's better overall design but for the 2 1/4 inch tube they use. Glad you like the sound, Is there any drone when crusing at 70 or 80 mph and you go up a hill ? My car is quiet at 70 to 80 MPH until it has to work a little like going up a hill and then the drone kicks in. I have to down shift or speed up to stop it, most annoying.
  22. After searching for what feels like years for the right set of wheels I came across this site. You have to give them some info in order to see the price, but it is worth it . As far as I can tell this site offers the best prices . I have not used them or ordered from them but their prices are hundreds less when I compare wheels. If you are looking to buy wheels check them out . If you have info on another site that offers a better deal I would be interested as I am always looking for the best price. https://www.mrwheeldeal.com
