  1. I appreciate members who look into the issues, even if they know they will have the dealer fix. I find odd that here and on other sites people are not appreciative of the self-diagnosis/detective work even if the vehicle is under warranty. After all these forums are for our education ...no? BTW, any update?
  2. Interesting, prices seems reasonable, if not too low to believe. I have been searching for an online service for factory manuals. I use this site for my other Fords (and these are Factory Manuals) : http://alldatadiy.com but the 2017 Edge is not on it. Since the 2015 is similar I did a year subscription on this site which recently added the 2015...not sure if it is "Factory manual" though http://www.chiltondiy.com The thing I like about the online services is up to date recalls and TSBs, etc.
  3. Thing is if you go to that much effort to check it...why not change it? (especially if you have a drain plug)
  4. Little hooks like these help https://www.zoro.com/value-brand-o-ring-tool-4f418/i/G0688843/?gclid=CPvPjv3kgtQCFYVhfgodRd4Ozg
  5. Hi, No it is too flimsy to step on. This is a combo step and protector: https://smile.amazon.com/WeatherTech-81BS1-Macneil-Automotive-Bump/dp/B00HG2UEBA/ref=pd_sbs_263_3?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_i=B00HG2UEBA&pd_rd_r=3CVJ7H06DGFJ8SRBHYS5&pd_rd_w=RyvcN&pd_rd_wg=tL8QT&psc=1&refRID=3CVJ7H06DGFJ8SRBHYS5 It is plastic and apparently do more damage to the guy that rear ends before breaking. Reviews say it is brittle in winter temps
  6. Well my 99 ford ranger is at 194K is doing well with no leaks what so ever...so hopefully that was your last major repair.
  7. Yep, just off hwy 17. I have fun driving the Sport on Old Santa Cruz hwy. For those unfamiliar, the highway is total twisty, in sport mode you rarely go beyond 2 gear. Bummed that your leaking fluid.
  8. After I installed the hitch on the Edge, I thought would add a hitch hammer as a bumper protector, but it seems to sit too low to be of any real protection (pic 1). So I made a riser, trying to minimize the distance it would stick out. I also had the "great" idea that I would paint it the same color as the edge...I think I will repaint it Black. (the so called matching paint was $34.00 It seems too bright, but maybe I needed to do another coat as I used grey primer. But clearly Black is better) On could argue it sits too low still...lets hope I never find out!
  9. No guess from me, but I have 1400 miles, so I am interested in your findings. What is your buildi date? Mine was October 16
  10. I checked the chilton website, it has pretty good pictures of the teardown but not as nice of color highlights like the google drive pics
  11. Oh hi, I tend to subscribe to Alldata, but they don't have the 2015+ Edge. I discovered Chilton has an online service where they have a 2015 Edge Manual. Even though mine is 2017, I subscribed, it was helpful for tracing the audio system. It seems like the real Ford service manual. Also includes TSBs, etc. http://www.chiltondiy.com
  12. Oh hi, I am enjoying this thread. I bought the 2017 Edge Sport no extra nothing. I bought a 2011 Hybrid escape with extra warranty. It expires in June and never used it. But throw all that aside, I want to tune the Sport....so the whole "Void the Warranty" comes to question. Such a first world problem/consideration...... Oh, another thought...one should consider where you are in the refresh cycle...my 2011 Escape was very mature. If I bought a 2015 Edge, I think, since new overhaul, I would strongly consider the warranty. Assuming 2018 Edge has nothing new, I bet it would be a safe bet to avoid the extra warranty. whatever...I still want to tune :-)
  13. Oh hi, Well I am also on the hunt for touch up paint, any updates?
  14. Okay, returning to stock to sell...I get that. It does bring up an interesting ethical dilemma...do you tell the buyer it was tuned? Especially if there is still a factory warranty? It's quite odd, I only bought new because I could not find a used Sport. But I also knew nothing about the tuning. I wonder what I would have done if I found a used Sport under warrenty but had been tuned....odd how some things boggle the mind. Perhaps the better thing to do is sell it with the tuner.....okay I gotta stop thinking about this :-)
  15. Wow, A quick search shows lots of these things, today May 3, there is a lightning deal on this one: https://smile.amazon.com/DBPOWER-18000mAh-Portable-Starter-Charging/dp/B01D42TYFC/ref=pd_sbs_263_2?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_i=B01D42TYFC&pd_rd_r=456MZ1X0GDBKCHNSHGS1&pd_rd_w=Vc6t8&pd_rd_wg=kS8aM&psc=1&refRID=456MZ1X0GDBKCHNSHGS1
  16. @GTR500R I'm guessing this thread may be dead now, but why return back to stock? Reliability worries? gas mileage? drivability? Here I am thinking about getting one, I think this is the first "bail" that I have read.
  17. I thought those tires were 20's, My 21's have grey spokes, so got confused, sorry about that.
  18. Oh hi, I went to owner.ford.com and log in. I have 2017 Edge Sport with Sync 3 version 2.0 It does not offer me v2.2 and says I am up to date. My Edge build date was Oct 2016. Car play works, I so I must have the required hub. Any thoughts why I am not offered 2.2?
  19. I have a question about the new springs on the Sport with 21 inch rims. Has anyone done this, I wonder if the ride would be noticeably harsher since you have less rubber absorbing the bumps. I notice on our pot hole roads in Northern California the Sport ride can be harsh.
  20. Just odd nit-pick ...you are mixing km and miles....a little bit odd...?° truly impressed if you got 30 mpg, that just seems unachievable
  21. Okay, it is clear to me that I will always be under 20mpg...it is too fun to drive conservatively. Before the Edge I had 2011 Ford Escape Hybrid...32 mpg or better no matter how I drove it. Off the line the hybrid goes well..electric motors are fantastic for that, but since that torques effect dies off quickly there is no need to "enjoy the power" while driving like the Sport!
  22. Hmmm, my build date was 10-16 (2017 Edge Sport)....I like the newer Fob as you get easier access to the key.
  23. So anybody tried these? http://www.ebay.com/itm/2x-LED-Daytime-Running-Fog-Lights-Lamp-DRL-For-Ford-EDGE-2015-2017-Angel-Eyes-/301829858171?_trksid=p2385738.m2548.l4275 They say you can swap the 55w halogen for HID...though you "need to pay extra money"
