  1. I was thinking just the front...such that the the front mud guards would fit. I suppose change out the complete side would make more sense. But I doubt I'll do anything. I just thought I would ask as I see so many people do various mods....
  2. Thanks, I was hoping you found custom fit ones. I was thinking about replacing the trim with non-Sport trim...any thoughts on that?
  3. Bumping an old thread. I have 2017 Edge sport (AWD) and using Forscan and OBDII MX Wifi app to monitor tranny temp. I am using the PID 1E1C. Driving up mountain roads I am seeing temps of 210, which seems high. curious if anyone else has figures to report.
  4. I've been reading this thread with interest, bummer about the bolts. I was trying to think of other vehicles that might have longer cam bolts. I guess the liability is the bolt might break if they just weld a cam onto a longer bolt. BTW, I monitored my transmission temp using obdii mx wifi and iPhone. It went to 210! that seems high to me. I was driving up and down a tight mountain road where lots of acceleration and de-acceleration, top speed about 40mph. I think I need to double check the configuration. EDIT: the PID used I believe to be wrong...But now I have found at least 3 PID for tranny temp...so not sure which is the correct one
  5. The thing is, converting from the analog to USB probably results in a lows res bitstream....so your hi res audio is lost anyway. So just make a USB stick with 256 aac. Unless you've upgraded the car audio system I doubt your missing anything. I have 64 go stick full time and seems to be working fine.
  6. Nice...whose front mud flaps to you put on?
  7. Thanks, can't figured out if the Veepeek is a true ELM 327 qualified. I will try the obdII link via amazon Prime. If it P*sses me off I'll send it back. (I live in the world of WiFi so that doesn't scare me too much!)
  8. BTW, they also make brake fluid checkers as well. I bought one off amazon.
  9. I got one in my hot water heater ...
  10. Okay I am thinking of ordering the obdlink wifi and use forscan to pull the Pcm code. The irony of ordering this is then I dont really need the SCT tool and could go with Livernois for tune and do data monitoring with the iphone
  11. Problem is I don't have a code reader. Torrie told me to by the SCT to extract the code and he would tell me if it could be tuned. I was kinda hoping to find someone else with a 2017 that would be first!
  12. I too am old school and will change with true full synthetic. Mobile One or Castrol Edge (guess which one I used :-) One reason is to change often is to help minimize the oil fouling on the valve train...not sure how real of a problem it is, but clean synthetic oil is supposed to help.
  13. Another Catch Can option: http://teamrxp.com I member on the Facebook Edge Sport group installed one...waiting to hear his results.
  14. So what about Unleashed and their $400 tune? The box also is a data logger, monitor functions etc. I believe somewhere on this site Livernois and Unleashed were compared and they were very very close. Assuming I don't want to break into the 12's in the 1/4 mile before Leo does, any downside on Unleashed?
  15. Yes by modded I meant LMS tuned. Have you recorded a quarter mile time? He also ups the octane by using race gas. I think his launches are around 1500.
  16. Cool. I think Leo needs this!. Should mention that I think Leo also modded his suspension as in lowered it.
  17. Well the modded sport apperantly has wheel hop, and "Leo" thinks he could break into the 12s for the quarter mile if he could get rid of it. there is talk about it on the Ford Edge sport Facebook group.
  18. Will the stiffener help for wheel hop for those guys trying to break into the 12s?
  19. Oh hi, In searching add to self program a third FOB, I found a lot of weird stuff...including two separate methods on the Ford site. This page on Ford did not work: https://owner.ford.com/how-tos/vehicle-features/locks-and-security/how-to-program-your-intelligent-access-key.html The owner manual page does work, but here's the rub. The manual tells you to wait 5 seconds between actions. I would just count 1001,1002, etc. Seems I count to slow. In fact if you read the section on how to find your factory combination to the door entry, it has the same basic procedure but says wait a couple of seconds. After multiple failures I only waited a couple of seconds between steps and that worked! Hope that helps someone! Oh I ordered my FOB of Amazon for 75.00 Now I need to get the real key cut!
  20. Hi, I'm still investigating passive crossovers, I found one at 80 hz with 12 dB/octave roll-off. I'll probably order that but it will be a few weeks before I get to install it. Here are my measurements: 60 -6.3 70 -7.5 80 -6.5 90 -6.5 100 -9 110 -10 120 -11 130 -14 140 -17 150 -18 160 -18 170 -19.6 180 -20.7 190 -22.5 200 -21.1 210 -21.4 220 -23 230 -26.8 240 -33 250 -37.4 260 -29.4 270 -27.7 280 -25 290 -25 300 -27 I does seem to do a 12db/octave roll-off but then gets a little weird as well. I also just realized that the lower door speakers are considered woofers hence their low end response. Ultimately I think additional Low pass on the Subwoofer and better door woofers might be the trick...we'll see. I think the front door woofers are contributing to the muddy bass. Oh ya, it appears the subwoofer is 1.2 ohms...making it tricky to find a passive LPF, parts express has 80hz at 4 ohms but that would be bad. So I will keep searching.
  21. Stupid questions time: how are you guys launching from the line...traction control off? And are better tire meaning softer rubber for the launch?
  22. Hmmm. I did some frequency testing in my Sony 12 Speaker 2017 Edge Sport. My complaint is muddy bass. I discovered that there is a huge bleed over in the sub woofer, in that it is active all the way to 250hz ( it does drop in dB, and I have the data at home, but can't remember offhand) Worse the door speakers are active below 70hz, which is bad at least for the OEM speakers I disconnected the subwoofer and a lot of the muddyness went away. I almost was going to leave it disconnected, but then I was pushing the door speakers to hard. I am going to try a cheap fix and install an inline 70hz low pass filter on the sub and see how that sounds. This could be the poor man's fix.
  23. Well, to the OP, it wasn't waste of my time. If it was, I wouldn't read the thread........
  24. Oh hi, So it seems that in the 2017 cycle, Ford changed the FOBs form factor where it is easier to access the actual key. I have a 2017 Edge with the previous style. I was thinking of getting a 3rd fob and going to try using the model. I can't believe there is an electrical difference, but thought I would see if anyone has used the newer FOB in an 2016-15 Edge? Also these FOBs are really fat. What iF I used a magnetic "hide-a-key" to hide the physical and got a smaller slimmer FOB...has anyone found one?
