So my mother has a 2015 Explorer with a 2.0L EcoBoost and she had to take it in for service because it wouldn't shut off. Has anyone heard of this issue for a late model Ford/Lincoln? I had her try bringing the other FOB into the cabin, no luck. A strange problem for sure.

the hardest part is actually finding the source of the noise. once you do its fairly easy to figure out a way to get rid of it. I've also used plastic shims to shove in between things, then glue or tape them in place so they don't back out. Another trick is using cyanoacrylate (which is basically super glue). I use all different viscosities of it for work and model making and the low viscosity stuff wicks in between things really well.

Nope its still there and still holding up just fine so far. If the picture is taken certain angles, you cant see the woven pattern is all.

Nothing worse than a constant rattle or noise in your car, drives me absolutely bonkers. I once had someone else drive while I roamed around inside the back of my Tahoe putting my ear to everything trying to track down a noise. I've even shot expanding foam into areas trying to get rid of noises, which actually works well, especially for loud music induced vibrations. You just need to be careful where the foam goes. Rubber washers between the license plate is another good trick to keep it from vibrating with heavier base.

265/45-21 shouldn't have any clearance issues, especially if you haven't lowered it. Your odometer will be off a bit, but in a good way. You will effectively be travelling 3.4% further than what your odometer is reading. And there are a lot more all-season options in that size. The size difference is almost negligible, even the stock 245/50-20 tires are 29.8" in diameter, that is almost 1/2" larger than the 21" tire. If you really want a different all-season tire, this may be your best bet, especially if you don't mind the slightly taller sidewall.

The outer arc line on each side of the hood is about 1.25" wide and has two distinct lines you can follow. I followed the outer lines instead of the inner lines like the other peeps with a similar wrap, so in order to continue the lines all the way back, I had to add two small pieces of vinyl to the A-pillars, but it came out pretty good. I actually had to stretch the main piece of film a little because from corner to corner near the base of the windshield its about 61" between the lines I followed. The 60" x 60" piece of vinyl only cost me $50. I will probably wrap the metallic gray insert of the grill in this satin black film to see how it looks. I might even try wrapping the 3 thin horizontal lines of the grill the same color as my brake calipers (the ones Nick wrapped in red/purple in the above pics) .

This would look even better on a black Edge for sure. I really like the satin black, it still has a good sheen to it, the matte finish is too dull

I've always bought summer tires, but when I was looking for different all-season options in 21-inch, I somehow messed up aspect ratio from 40 to 45 by accident.

I think the Adaptive Cruise Control hardware is mounted low, behind the bumper cover near the inter-cooler, well below the grill

Did a new hood wrap this weekend in satin black Avery Dennison vinyl.

Shit, I don't know how I messed up the size, I've bought 21" tires 3 times for mine lol...I'll keep looking for another a/s option

I didn't really notice it at first too, until I really started changing the look of mine

Bridgestone and Continental both make an all-season in 265/45-21 Still more expensive than the 20" versions of course

thanks, thats about what I expected...I can handle that. To me its going to be worth it too, as of now I'm planning on keeping this car for years to come, at least until the note is paid in full and I've got a good 4 years left.

My 16 Sport came new with the 20's and all-seasons then I bought the 21's afterwards. I certainly notice the ride was softer on the 20's but then again I also put summer performance tires on my 21's. And there is definitely more than one all-season option in 21" but in general they are always a bit more expensive than their 20" counterpart. You could probably get a decent deal on a used set of 20" wheels if you are willing to go that way. If you don't mind softening up the ride some, you will definitely save money buying 20" tires over the long run, and you can get almost any tire in 245/55-20

cool thanks bud. I want to be able to wrap the parts around to the inside as much as possible so you cant see the edges and that will only be possible with the parts off. they are fairly simple parts to wrap by themselves. the metallic dark gray has to go.

If you don't mind sharing, what was the cost for everything you did (amps, speakers, installation, etc.)? After I'm satisfied with all my performance/appearance mods, the shit Sony stereo system is next. I'm almost ready for this, but I want to do as much of the stereo install myself. I can handle replacing all the speakers, but I'm probably going to pay to have the amp and DSP installed so I know its all functioning properly. I've been out of the car stereo game too long to feel confident doing that myself.

Nick have you ever disassembled the grill? If so, how does it come apart, is all just snap fitted together? I've had the front bumper off a couple of times but never had the time to look further into dismantling the grill. I want to wrap some of the grill parts and it would be much easier if I could take it apart and wrap the pieces individually.

You can search for this part just as easily as anyone else. The options are very limited (eBay) and will probably require some custom work, especially if you want to keep the ford logo and front camera (if equipped). So you need to be willing to disassemble your front end and have the skill/tools to custom fit the parts yourself, I doubt you could find any body shop to do it for you. I've given up on this for now because I don't trust the quality of the chinese ones going for $300+ and its near impossible/too expensive to get a UK Vignale grille. good luck.

What are you going to cut away on the bumper cover? Just the tabs that the clips mount to so there's no other plastic visible beyond the edges of the outer exhaust cutouts?

Just FYI for you peeps on the east coast, BJ's Wholesale Club has 6-qt cases of 5w-30 Mobil One for $27.99 That is about as low as the price gets.

I basically had the same situation, my edge came with 20" wheels then I bought an edge 21" wheel/tire package with new TPMS sensors. Since then, I've swapped the wheels back and fourth a few times and they always sync up after driving for few minutes.

I was looking to get one of these too. I even called a few dealerships in the UK to try and find one, no luck. It would be very pricey, Nick is probably right, $500+ dollars easily. And I didn't notice until now that more than half the honeycomb is solid plastic with no airflow (thanks Nick). The eBay ones are going for like $300 give or take, but I'm not willing to waste that kind of money if the quality sucks, and the chances are better that its cheaply made. I've been thinking of building my own, I may get to it someday.

What did you use for the secure idle code change? Just want to make sure its what I have before I do it. Also, did you tint your tail light lenses (it looks like it in your profile pic)? If so, what did you use? I did my own with dry apply Vvivid tint film.
