  1. FYI - Mobil 1 5w-30 6-quart case on sale at Amazon for $27.78
  2. I don't have anything bad to say about it, it definitely protects the leading edge of the hood well. I'm just done with it, I have a new plan for a hood wrap design and the aeroskin protector is in the way.
  3. The adhesive will not damage your paint as long as you clean it and apply it correctly. It can damage the paint slightly if the adhesive starts to come off and dirt/debris gets stuck between, but even still, its nothing that can't be buffed out. I would stay away from the pre-cut headlight tint film kits. I have never tried using one, but I have used regular headlight tint film quite a bit and the film needs to be stretched and formed onto the curved surface of the lenses. With the pre-cut pieces, theres nothing to hold onto when applying it and you will most likely end up throwing it away in frustration after it gets all effed up. Plus you can get enough film to tint the headlights twice for what it costs for the pre-cut kit. The Vvivid air-release dry apply tint film is what I found to be easiest to work with. I was able to tint the long super curved tail lights on mine using this film after 2 failed attempts with wet apply film. The Gen-II headlights are fairly easy to tint though since they're only curved heavily in one plane. As far as protecting the front end paint, you can have clear PPF (paint protection film) applied, most dealerships offer it as an add-on option now. Most vinyl/tint shops offer this now too. If you have no experience with vinyl films, PPF is not what you want to start learning on. Its stiffer and thicker than regular color change vinyl or tint film. I don't think it costs too much if you are just doing the front bumper cover and the leading edge of the hood, maybe $150 or so.
  4. I'm removing my AVS Aeroskin hood protector if anyone wants it, its still in perfect condition. I'll even re-apply it with new 3M adhesive tape too, just need to pay for shipping ($20-$25 I'm thinking) and its yours. Brand new they cost about $65 +tax & shipping, PM me if anyone is interested.

  6. I only used plasti-dip on my rear badges, I prefer vinyl wherever possible. My advice on using plasti-dip is to make sure its nice and warm outside and make sure the plasti-dip can is brought up to temp as well. If its too cold, it will come out like snot and the finish will be really orange-peel. I applied like 5 or 6 coats of black and then 3 or 4 coats of the glossifier to make it look more like real paint. My badges still look great after more than a year of washes and SoCal sun.
  7. Sorry, I don't have anything close to the platinum white color. You can buy a swatch or two from www.metrorestyling.com for $1.00 each. Then you just need a couple 1/4" metal snap-in plugs, you can get those from any hardware store. I'll take a pic of mine close up so you can see what they look like. Here's one film that may be a good match for the white platinum paint: https://www.metrorestyling.com/Avery-Supreme-Wrapping-Film-Gloss-White-Diamond-p/sw900-161-d.htm
  8. You will need to replace the adhesive. When you use fishing line and a heat gun/hairdryer to remove the emblem, the adhesive tape will get destroyed and you will have to clean it up before applying the new tape. You can buy small rolls of VHB heavy duty 3M double sided adhesive tape from Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00JR4D7AA/ref=psdc_15710291_t1_B002JOVUO0
  9. Black interior may make it appear less bright (assuming yours is black) compared lighter interiors. I know mine aren't very bright, but they're also not supposed to be. They're meant to give a little bit of extra visibility in the foot wells and such, while adding what ford thought would be a "cool" feature in adjusting the color. It's probably safe to say that most people played with it when they first bought the car then never touched it again, I know thats what I did. If its a real concern, I'd also recommend just stopping by a dealer for a quick comparison.
  10. just regular light smoke wet apply film, I forget which brand I used, the fronts are super easy, they only curve in one plane. The rears are a different story
  11. Finished wrapping the front grill, added some thin light blue lines to match the brake calipers, this finally covers up all the metallic gray grill parts
  12. The offset is what you need to know. 22" wheels will fit in the wheel wells at rest (assuming the offset allows them to fit over the hub/brakes), but if the offset is too far off, you could have issues. If you already bought them, just be careful when you install them and make sure you arent gona ruin a fender when you turn
  13. $30 is a bit ridiculous for two little plugs, but I guess you are paying for the color match. I made my own for about $2 out of 1/4" metal plugs and wrapped them in color match vinyl. I have a bunch of plugs left and I have various vinyl swatches, if anyone needs any plugs, let me know...no charge.
  14. Metro restyling has good prices and they carry almost every major manufacturer, plus you can buy 3"x5" color swatches if you aren't sure what you want. The color/finish options are virtually endless. The new Vvivid+ series film is really good too. https://www.metrorestyling.com/ https://vvividshop.com/
  15. I guess it was just a bad relay, I don't know if it would have shut off after a timeout or not, but its fixed now.
  16. that is correct, its something like 30 minutes i think. but it will definitely shut off shortly after the ignition is off.
  17. I'm really not interested in having the engine covered in CF (or the radiator for that matter), unless those parts were way less expensive. I was more interested in the exterior composites that Sankuer made, but no dice on those as they were one-offs. I'm thinking that the temps in the engine bay may be a bit too much for vinyl, especially on the engine cover. I'll never try wrapping mine.
  18. Lund International (AVS) makes one called a Carflector. Its more of a traditional acrylic hood deflector and they do make one for the Gen II Edge, but couldn't find any pics of it on one. This is probably your best bet. I would also suggest picking up a bottle of touch-up paint, especially with black colored paint. It is pretty good for hiding small knicks if used correctly. Here's a link to Lund: https://www.lundinternational.com/newproducts/bug+deflectors+and+hood+protectors/carflector
  19. I read that the company that made all the custom carbon fiber components for the Webasto Edge was Sankuer Composite Technologies. I was trying to get my hands on a custom intercooler intake piece that is shown in the pictures. I emailed them and the president replied to me and informed me that there isn't any tooling for the intercooler piece or any of the other carbon fiber exterior parts. There is tooling for the carbon fiber engine cover and the radiator cover in case anyone wants them made for their Edge. They are a bit expensive though, $1,300 for the engine cover and $787 for the radiator cover. Way too much for me, I'd spend that money better elsewhere, but figured I'd at least share it here in case anyone else is interested.
  20. When I removed mine, it was one piece. The chrome base/border was clearly a separate part, but it was definitely all bonded together, although I'm not sure how well, I had no reason to try separating them.
  21. It does sound like your AWD isn't working properly if you are getting continuous front wheel spin only during launches. I have tested out my AWD a few times in the rain and apart from some initial front wheel spin, the AWD engages the rear wheels almost instantly. There are a couple of YouTube video's some Fusion Sport owner made in the snow that shows the AWD engaging just after the front wheels begin to spin.
  22. Front license plate deleted and wrapped the metallic gray section of the grill in satin black vinyl
  23. Yes it has start/stop button with remote start enabled key fob. Everything else shut off, including lights and accessories, just the engine was left running. It's at Ford now getting fixed.
