  1. Yes they are, I didn't like the low gloss gray 21" OEM finish, it just didn't match. So I bought the car with the 20" wheels and then bought the 21" wheels powder coated black with P-Zero tires from a place in Michigan for $2,100 shipped. In hind sight, I should have just bought it with the 21's and then had them power coated myself. It would have only cost me like $400 to get them painted. But at least now I have a softer all season set-up I can throw on if needed.
  2. Did you end up wrapping your grille? If so, how did it come out?
  3. I also wax my windshield. It definitely holds up better than Rain-X. When it is still fresh, anything over 40 mph in heavy rain and you don't even need the wipers on. Its difficult to get all the residual wax off though. Maybe if I clay it first it would help.
  4. you will not be disappointed in the difference in handling.
  5. Those are just the OEM Gen II Ford Edge front splash guards. As you may already know, they don't yet make rear splash guards to fit the rear bodywork the Edge Sport trim. To be honest, I am pretty disappointed with how the front ones fit. Its not terrible, but could be way better. Someone posted close-ups of the way the front ones look, I think on a forum topic about splash guards specifically if you want to see for yourself.
  6. Nice, that's one of the better looking MKXs I've seen...what a difference matching up the window tints makes...
  7. You can just take it to any reputable tint shop and tell them to match the front to the back as close as possible. If there is any noticeable difference from the front to rear window tint, whether darker or lighter, you will probably not be happy with the result. It will technically be illegal. Having said that, I've been tinting my windows illegally for 20 years, living in both Massachusetts and California and never had an issue whatsoever. I see so many cars with "illegal" tint in California these days and it just doesn't seem to be enforced. Besides, its worth risking the $60 it costs to tint the two fronts in my opinion...compared to the off chance I might get a fix-it ticket.
  8. Just picked up my Edge with H&R springs. Apart from being situated a litter lower to the ground, driving in a straight line definitely feels eerily similar to the stock suspension. It takes normal road conditions in stride and does not feel stiff or rough whatsoever. But as soon as I dip into a corner, the steering response is much more immediate and the body roll is non-existent. It feels so much better and I cant wait to take it to the canyons. Very happy so far, which was expected. Anyway, here are the before and after pics and ride height numbers: Side note...it was nice to see that the springs leveled out the car to within 1/8" in the front and rear There was a 1/4" difference in height from side to side with the stock springs. After looking at the before and after pictures, the stock ride height just looks ridiculous in comparison although, I think it does make the car's ass look bigger from behind now lol
  9. Was pleasantly surprised by UPS this morning with these! Finally arrived! I'm going to try to get them put in before the end of the week. I'll follow up with before and after ride height measurements.

  11. I use an air compressor with a rubber tipped air gun nozzle to blow all the water out of the body panel seams, behind the mirrors, etc. That way when I drive away, the trapped water doesn't run out all over the body leaving spots. This also works great on the interior to get everything out of the seams and joints of the dash and console before vacuuming.
  12. Thanks ChefDuane for the free chinese door hinge bolt covers. They actually fit very well...not that anyone will ever notice them besides me. A very random mod for sure, but I still like it. Here is before and after.
  13. Did you remove the metal clips used to attached the stock chrome trapezoid bezels? And if so, did you also cut away the mounting bosses to clean it up a bit and make room for the dual tips? I cant really see them anymore, unless they're just out of view in the picture.
  14. Quick question Nick, when you take apart your front grille, do the piano black grille slats disassemble form the charcoal gray framing? I have been wondering this for awhile now when I consider different grille finishes. I quickly learned that it is much easier to wrap things if nothing is in the way and you can hold the item in your hand firmly.
  15. I went thru the same learning curve that a lot of people have probably gone thru regarding plasti-dip. I quickly realized the limitations of plasti-dip for my own personal taste and standards. For me, I will only use plasti-dip as a quick solution for badges and small stuff like that. IMO it is great for badges and seems to hold up very well, but it's just not durable enough for wheels, or the body of a car. But more importantly, it just doesn't give you the uniform surface finish achieved with paint or vinyl and tends to finish with too much of an "orange peel" look. Although if you must, you can minimize this by making sure the can of dip is nice and warm before using. If it's too cold, it's too viscous to spray finely and comes out like snot (exaggeration). I also thought vinyl wrapping would be rather difficult, but like anything, it just takes a little practice is all. There are tons of training videos you can find to help you out also. Vinyl is just as economic as plasti-dip and the finish/color options are virtually endless. I just did my exhaust bezels for $11 in black gloss vinyl and I still have more than half the vinyl left. The gen-II edge grille doesn't seem to have very extreme multi-planar contouring so it shouldn't be too difficult to vinyl wrap. Nick H. can probably offer some tips if you decide to wrap it. Good luck!!
  16. glad to hear it was a simple fix. I will be sure to tell my installer to watch out for that when mine go in (a few weeks hopefully).
  17. Nice! will those fit my 2016 also? If so, I will take them off your hands and pay for shipping.
  18. $96 is very reasonable for that. It will take someone with experience about an hour at least. Glad this seems to finally be working out and glad you are happy with the quality of them. His painter does a really good job...and probably should for $150 Post pics once you get them installed (and before the front one takes its first 90 mph pebble to the face)
  19. Mine is going in tomorrow morning for this. When I got my second letter, I called within a week or so and my dealership (Autonation Ford in Torrance, CA) had the parts in stock already. The service guy checked while I was on the phone with him before scheduling my appointment. On Friday I will follow up on this thread with how everything goes.
  20. I really think you will be fine. They look like they are exactly the same as mine, and I cant image they changed them from last year. Although the part number may have changed based on model year, the images you posted are the correct parts. I say go for it. Are you gona do the rear one yourself? It would be a shame to pay someone to do that one, since its so easy and requires only a hair dryer and fishing line. Plus that would give you a higher level of comfort that the front will also fit before paying someone to disassemble the front end.
