  1. I feel you on the plasti-dip. IMO it should never be used on body panels or especially wheels. Reminds me of that Flex Seal crap on the info-mercial lol. The only automotive use I found it good for was blacking out badging easily (or pranking the wife I suppose). I did my EDGE and SPORT rear badges almost a year ago and still looks great.
  2. Here's my before and after pics: Before: After: The wheel well gap looks "normal" after the H&R's and the ride height is essentially changed from that of a crossover SUV to more of what is typical of a sedan.
  3. Nick, do you happen to know how it was originally fabricated, thermoformed maybe?
  4. This means removing it and having the rest of the honeycomb pattern cut to match the grill area using a CNC (computer numerically controlled) milling machine to accurately match the pattern, as opposed to cutting it by hand with a Dremel tool or something. It is a much more precise way of doing something like that, and much more expensive, unless you know someone with programming knowledge and access to a machine.
  5. I hope it can help some people from getting into a jam. I just think it should be something that is an option to have on or not by choice (without having to use forscan). I can't imagine that Ford could be held liable for anything if the feature wasn't included, but in this world of sue happy people, I guess anything is possible. Even if you do leave it running, it will shut off after 30 mins anyway wont it?
  6. A more subtle notification sound would be a good compromise. Using the horn is way overkill. I will say that a lower intensity honk sounds rather pathetic though...like a weak "bonk". My VW Jetta that I owned years back had a less intense honk when arming the alarm and it was comically pathetic sounding, I hated it.
  7. The H&R springs will not compromise the ride quality either, certainly no more than 35 series tires. Everyone on here that got them installed pretty much gives them universal praise (including myself). Just saying...if you are willing to invest another $600-$700, you will not be disappointed, and the ride height will look so much more proportionate and cleaner overall. xmas is just around the corner...add them to your list!
  8. I agree also, all jokes aside. From day one I found the honking to be incredibly annoying, and also annoying and confusing to other people in the vicinity. I have a 2 yr old daughter that often falls asleep in the car and that double honk has woken her up before. Plus I park in a subterranean lot and horns are VERY loud in closed spaces like that. In my opinion this feature should have been easily selective by the owner, similar to traction control and the other driver assist settings. There seems to be a large percentage of people who dislike the feature, every Ford forum has multiple posts of people complaining about it and asking how to disable the feature. Before owning this vehicle, I can't remember ever wishing my car would somehow remind me that it was still running. Glad there is a way to do it, even if kind of difficult.
  9. I've only seen these ones for sale online so far. Chinese knock-offs that appear to have some angel eye LED feature around the actual fog lamp. Too much going on with these imo and I'm always skeptical of quality with things like this. I'll keep looking for the proper euro spec versions. I'm sure the euro OEM ones are super pricey, judging by how ridiculously expensive all the other OEM light fixtures are. And that Webasto IC grill is great looking, I never noticed that detail until you pointed it out. I doubt its available for sale, probably just a custom piece they made. https://www.ebay.com/itm/2x-LED-Daytime-Running-Fog-Lights-DRL-Angel-Eyes-kit-For-Ford-EDGE-2015-2017-/232056756848
  10. That would be great, but have you seen if anyone has confirmed that this works? And do you know if you can vary/set the amount of tilt?
  11. This could only happen if someone took my key fob out of my pocket without me realizing it...highly doubtful. I'm sure all of us will get a good laugh if your horn fails early from over use so enjoy those honks.
  12. I tinted mine with film like Nick did and they came out great. I'm glad you posted what it entails to remove them and what the fixtures look like, so thanks! I may end up replacing mine with the euro drivers pkg versions that come with proper fog lamps in the middle instead of the fake plastic vents that they come with now. Like these ones in an old post from someone: http://www.fordedgeforum.com/topic/17799-drivers-assistance-pkg-and-fog-lights/
  13. That is a good price for them. How are your scorpion verde's holding up? They must be pretty close to spent by now...knowing the way you drive on them.
  14. Damn, I wish I knew about this beforehand also. I would have loved to save $30 on them compared to RECON. Good to know for the future if i need replacements or want a different color. Thanks for checking on this!
  15. I also installed these same H15 LEDs and I am much more happy with the color, the stock incandescent bulbs looked terrible in comparison. I also have LED switchback turn signals so when the DRL's are on, the yellow turn signal/detail lights are also white now. They switch to flashing yellow for signaling and then back to white about 1 second after disengaging the turn signal. Only during the day though, since one of the H15 DRL power wires is what I tapped for signalling the white side of the switchbacks. Once the DRLs turn off in the dark, the switchback turn signals run yellow only. BTW, those H15 bulbs are a pain in the arse to get in properly!
  16. Nice, hopefully they will and it can drive the cost down from RECON.
  17. I saw that tire rack ad on Friday too, but that price was only for 1 tire.
  18. It would look a lot better IMO if you lowered it a little (H&R sport springs) and reduce that wheel well gap a bit. To me it looks so propped-up. Of course lowering it will not help the ride quality, but then again on 22" wheels with 35 sidewalls, you can't expect much in ride quality anyways.
  19. I have recently been looking for some alternatives to the 265/40 21" P-Zeros but there isn't much out there. Mine are already almost done with and I've only got 10k miles on them. I drive the car rather aggressively so I'm not that surprised, but I certainly cannot afford to be shelling out $2k every year for new Pirelli's. Living in SoCal, I can run summer tires all year long. I found a Singapore company that makes a line of tires called Radar tires (parent company is called Omni United). They make a summer performance tire called the Dimax R8+ and you can buy them for about $600 for a set of 4 in 265/40 21" which is great, but I wonder about the quality. I am a firm believer in "you get what you pay for" so I am a bit skeptical. Does anyone know anything about these tires? At that price point, I could rip thru a set of those each year and be fine with it. Here is a link: http://omni-united.com/tire/dimax-r8-plus/
  20. How does this work? All I did was set the #3 drivers seat memory button with the side mirrors tilted down for when I am in reverse like you stated a couple of posts ago. It just needs to be in park when you press the button. Works good, but does this mod enable something that is easier than what I currently do?
  21. Some other company needs to build some colored LED puddles besides RECON so that they are forced to sell them at a more reasonable price, $80 is out of control. They try to make it seem worth it by placing them in a fancy box. Has anyone suggested this to daytime brights?
  22. correct part name is Rear Body Reflector Assembly and as lildisco stated, be sure to get the correct one based on the model of edge you own.
  23. They still seem to be working just like new from what I can tell. I'm surely glad too, they were insanely expensive for LED's. Unfortunately they are the only company that make color LED puddle lights for the F150 (same ones used in the Edge). If you do get them, hopefully you will have the same luck I have had so far. If these ones do go out on me, I will probably try building my own using the old fixtures, because I'm not spending $80 on another set of these.
  24. I remember reading something about being able to upload the full BCM configuration all at once, but I cant image someone having very many items to change back, so doing changes one by one can't be much more difficult. I only have two things changed right now, and I may do one more, but thats all. So returning to the stock config shouldn't take but a few minutes each time. Plus my knowledge of BCMs and Forscan is probably just enough to get into trouble. I was nervous enough making the changes I made, so I'm quite happy just to stick with what I know works!
