tLots of tape. I think you have to remove the bumper to get the grill out. Wasn't up to the task.

I'm thinking you could dismantle the grill and use the piano slats. But you have to remove the bumper to get the grill out and I wasn't up to that task. I just masked the heck out of everything and painted mine. Hope the paint sticks good.

So you blame Ford for harsh weather? Out here in California things don't rust up to bad. I guess it's like the glass half full or half empty thing. Anyway I'm not trying to be negative on you and understand your frustration but bad whether is rough on things and like IWRBB said maybe some grease would prolong the corrosion. That would be a pain dealing with brakes all the time. Plus the gas mileage probably suffers too.

I have a 2016 titanium. Are these the fill and drain plugs? The fill plug by the exhaust bolt. And below it a much smaller looking plug, but not really at lowest point of PTU. So not all oil would drain. Fill plug looks to be a pain to get to. Note. Not even sure if this is the PTU.

Well you can't say he didn't give Ford a chance. I personally would have never even considered owning any of those cars. I think all manufacturers learn from their mistakes and redesign things to make them better. Hopefully they made my 2016 with a better PTU and water pump then a 2010. Jeep isn't even on my list of possible cars to buy. But I have some friends that have mega miles on theirs. But they weren't trouble free either. I'm on my seventh Ford and haven't had a single issue I'd really complain about. But I get rid of them around 130 to 150 k miles.

That's the same color and model I got for the wife. She went from a Mercedes to this and always says she loves her Edge. We don't have any kids at home anymore so this size was perfect for us. I too will be blacking out some things. Grill and rims for sure.

My 16 is good to but now I'm worried abut later.

The bumper protector I was looking at online looks like it's a decal. Not plastic cover. It looks like clear plastic tape with some lines and the word EDGE on it. So if you have a scratched up bumper you would see it through the clear. Maybe there are 2 kinds of protectors?

Looks good to me. I like OEM wheels best on most vehicles.

I was looking into doing this swap also. Problem is people keep changing the hid to a led topic. Then I get all confused. Best research I found is it should be fine to use an hid bulb kit in a halogen projector housing. A true hid housing uses a different glass lens then the halogen housing lens. Needless to say I haven't done the conversion because I want to make sure it's right.

Does anybody know if the painted silver bars on the Tightanium grills come apart? From the grill assembly. I want to paint them professionally.

2016 Smart Charging USB Ports?
Tightanium replied to dcaton's topic in Audio, Backup, Navigation & SYNC
Ok I'll admit I don't know or care about charging amps because my usb works fine for what I use it for but maybe the reason Ford calls it a smart usb is because when you hook a device to it your car can interact with that device. Do people still call phones smart anymore? -
20" to 21" wheels, do I need to reprogram my odometer?
Tightanium replied to roots57's topic in Wheels & Tires
I got some 19 titanium rims and tires. From a 2016. -
Which draw tite hitch to go with.
Tightanium replied to palmstatecrawler's topic in Cargo, Hauling, Roof Racks & Towing
Do the cars that came with a hitch have anything else installed from the factory like a transmission cooler? Or different springs? -

Leaving fob in car ??
Tightanium replied to Blmkso's topic in Alarms, Keyless Entry, Locks & Remote Start
I just tried all kinds of scenarios. If the fob is in the car it will start. I locked myself in,had my wife key pad lock me in,used the fob to lock me in. Car always starts. I even tried it while I wasn't sitting in the seat, thinking that it may know someone was in the car when it was locked. I wouldn't leave the key locked on the vehicle. I have a 2016. -
I don't think dealers have to stock every part for 10 years but I believe they will manufacture parts for up to 10 years.
-
I'm so glad you told us your Edge is having some technical issues. You've convinced me to sell all four of my perfect Fords. Because you know Toyotas would never not stock a part and would have any part you need immediately. I know you're mad (as I would be) but not every manufacturers can have 100 % of their cars leave the factory perfect. Things break. It's a fact of life. If it makes you feel better, after they fix it get rid of it. Nobody is going to make you keep it. Sorry about ranting back but coming to a forum to try convince people that Fords are worthless isn't going to work.

Exterior Key Pad - No code...
Tightanium replied to nittanydoug's topic in Alarms, Keyless Entry, Locks & Remote Start
I remember on my F150 that if you had both original keys you could insert one key turn it on then off , insert 2nd key turn it on and it would display the code briefly. Not sure how you would do that with push button though. I know that probably doesn't help you but there might be another way also. -
I crunched some numbers and I average 35 MPH city/highway. I feel like it's the same driving habits as yours. If I figured it out right that would be 142 hours to go 5000 miles. Seem perfect time to change oil.

Come On Ford, Give Me A Break!!!!
Tightanium replied to All Hat No Cattle's topic in Buying, Leasing & Ordering
We think alike. Except yours match. I have a white 13 F150 super crew and a black 16 titanium Edge. I say we look cool in the garage as people look at them when they drive by.
