  1. The new style is one big reason I bought my 2016 Edge Tightanium. With a bit more then a year of owning it I can say the ONLY thing that bothers me is a console rattle only with my arm resting on it and the transmission down shifts often with very little load. Would I buy another one? Possibly, but I usually change things up each time I get a new car.
  2. I never researched this but I don't know if we can get a manual here in the US. I feel like there isn't much room down there for another pedal with the funny left foot rest that protrudes out the floor.
  3. I just rotated my tires today and I twisted my nuts to 100 ft pounds. They didn't scream and I don't think they will fall off .
  4. Even though the N/A 3.5 and the 3.5 ecoboost may share some parts I don't think they are identical motors. I have the ecoboost in my F150, so far it's been great. My 3.5 in the Edge runs so smooth and quiet I can't tell it's running sometimes. Early maintenance or more often is good insurance.
  5. This may be a dumb question but if you have AWD do you need chains on all wheels or do you put them on front or rear? May not matter as I also have 19's.
  6. You can get your catch can if you want. I wasn't trying to say you don't need to. You're right all DI engines are prone to valve coking but we were talking about ecoboost engines. I'll bet there are close to 2 million ecoboost motors if not more sold by Ford and they aren't lined up at the dealers getting there valves cleaned. Are the valves coking? Probably. Are the motors blowing up because of coking? Probably not but they may run like crap. Even with a catch can you still will get more then 5 drops of oil on your valves. I know you're going to say it will prolong the coking, and it will. I'm just not sold on one. That's just me. My thought is with millions of these motors out there , there has to be tons of them with lots of miles on them without coking issues. I'll take my chances. Who knows maybe in 6 or 7 years we can post our progress on this same thread.
  7. I have a F150 3.5 ecoboost and don't plan on using a can. On the ecoboost forum I haven't read of anyone getting that much crud in only a couple hundred miles. It certainly wouldn't hurt to use one but I just don't think you see any ecoboosts flooding the shops to get their valves cleaned. The valve coking got me scared so I got my Edge with the 3.5 N/A motor.
  8. The 2.0 is ok but I didn't like how it felt like it runs out of power at higher speeds. Kind of gutless above 65 , 70 mph. Low speed it was nice. Turbos definitely make a 2.0 feel like a V6. Yes he was asking about the 17 models but I'm thinking the price isn't much different then a 16 and might not gotten very many responses if us 16 guys didn't chime in. Just saying.
  9. I paid $29,500 for my 2016 tightanium 3.5 used. 12 k miles and was only used for 8 months from previous owner. On the lot I bought it from the new ones were $42k. California prices.
  10. High tech. I need something like that in my classic car to help cancel rattle and wind noises. Ha ha.
  11. I don't know the answer but I want to go from 19 to 20's. It more of it looks cool to me thing. I didn't like big side walls. My guess is a more rugged tire. Or that's just what the SEL's come with.
  12. I just saw the flashing 3rd brake light last night on a car. Yes it got my attention and yes it was a bit annoying. Another thing I noticed was if he had his turn signal on and put his brakes on to turn the 3rd brake light did not flash. With all the crazy new car headlight configurations that are very bright and annoying I thought that cars manufacturer just took the brake light Set up a notch to be different. I didn't know there were laws about flashing 3rd brake lights.
  13. My 16 Titanium 3.5 has been pretty much flawless. The only thing bugging me is I get a console lid rattle while my arm is resting on it while driving.
  14. But won't the engine need to be running to use that correctly?
  15. My 3.5 gets 17 city and 25 highway. Then there's my 3.5 Eco F150 , 14 city and 21 highway. Finally my daughter just got a 17 Escape 2.0 Eco. Only one month old to her. 19 city and 28 highway. My point here is this is 3 completely different size and weight of cars and the mileage reflects the more you weigh the less gas mileage you will get. Not like you didn't know this. But for comparison , 17 mpg for an Edge is pretty good. If you're a bit lower maybe you have a lead foot.
  16. I have 3.5 EB, 2.0 EB and 3.5 N/A.. I agree the EB's are quick and powerful up to around 80 mph..Passing cars is a breeze. The 3.5 N/A just gives me a warm and fuzzy feeling. It's not slow, it runs strong and runs well. My opinion that's the engine that's going to last the longest.
  17. Even though I didn't get a sport. I got the Titanium for the wife she absolutely loves it. Had a Mercedes. She doesn't even miss the Mercedes. And that car was considered her baby at one time. The Edge has lots of nice options and fits our lifestyle better. We have only had it for 6 months now. All has been good. Only change I have to do , because they look ugly to me , is change the rims and paint the silver part of the grill black. The grill is done already. Posted pics of that. Good to hear you are enjoying your car.
  18. I'm amazed that turbos last as long as they do. After all what do they spin? 250,000 rpm's under extreme heat. Some are going to fail.
  19. Then you could have a turbo with 300,000 miles like a guy on the F150 forum does. And they have two of them.
