  1. Thanks everyone for the responses. I live in California near Monterey. Does gas blended for California typically produce lower mpg ratings. I mentioned the C-Max because my Ford Edge Sport can’t even get half (19 mpg) what the C-Max gets when I drive the Ford Edge Sport conservatively. The longest highway drives are between 10 and 15 miles. City driving is typically 3-4 miles. I did some searching on the Internet about gas mileage for the Ford Edge Sport and found this. It made me think there was something seriously wrong with my vehicle if someone could get 24 mpg combined while driving aggressively. Based on my current gas mileage numbers I suspect I would be getting something like 12-13 mpg if I drove aggressively. I used to have the following vehicles: 1990 Toyota V6 5-speed 4x4 SR5. This was my daily driver and used to pick up large items. 2001 Corvette 6-speed convertible with a Z51 suspension. This we used for occasional road trips to the national parks. I typically got 28-29 on the highway and 19 combined. I never drove the car hard, but I liked to run it through the gears on twisty roads. After 26 years a head gasket in the Toyota went and it was too expensive to justify fixing it. The Corvette was not practical as a daily driver and had not been driven much in the last 5 years due to work and health issues. I decided to get a Ford Edge Sport since it had decent power, I liked the idea of a tuned suspension and there was lots of room in the back with the seats down to carry large objects. I do travel on dirt roads occasionally so the AWD might come in handy, especially in the snow. The Ford dealer gave me an excellent trade in allowance plus $5,500.00 off the Ford Edge sticker price. I have reset the mpg meter at each fill up and on the last fill up I also wrote down the mileage so I can compare the Edge’s calculation to my calculation at the next fill up. If I can ultimately get 18mpg combined driving it is sport mode while getting on it occasionally I will be satisfied. I am thinking the 24 mpg combined claimed above in the screen shot is nonsense for a Ford Edge Sport that is driven aggressively.
  2. I am very pleased with my Ford Edge Sport with the 2.7L EcoBoost engine except for gas mileage. I am currently getting in the low 15’s combined city and highway. I only use premium gas and have never used the sport mode. I only have 950 miles on the odometer and I realize it is not broken in yet, but 15 mpg seems ridiculous. I am driving my Edge very conservatively and I keep the mpg display on to monitor my driving habits to try and get the best gas mileage. I would say 1/3 of my driving is highway and 2/3 is city. I have no problem getting 38 mpg driving my wife’s C-Mac. Is 15 mpg combined for a new Ford Edge Sport normal? Gas mileage in sport mode must be horrendous.
  3. Very pleased with my 2017 Ford Edge Sport without the vista roof. Glad I did not get the vista roof after considering the potential glass breakage, maintenance issues and the weakening of the structure by creating a large opening in the roof.
  4. I am looking at a new 2017 Ford Edge Sport that has a MSRP of 44,640.00. I was offered 5,000 off or 39,640.00. This includes all current incentives. Is this a good price or could I do better?
  5. I am very tall so I was leaning towards getting an Edge without a Vista Roof. You loose headroom with the Vista Roof and it is not that important to me. After doing some research I became concerned about maintenance issues and cracking glass. Thanks for the input.
  6. Thanks. I just found a 2017 Ford Edge Sport without the panoramic vista roof. It has the 401A option. The MSRP is $44,640.00 and the dealer is willing to sell it to me for $39,634.00. I think I am going to go for it after I do more research on the Edge over the weekend. I was surprised the dealerships where offering such aggressive discounts on the new 2017's.
  7. How serious is the problem with the Ford Edge Panoramic Vista Roof cracking? I have found several reports of them cracking on their own. I am getting ready to purchase an Edge Sport and it is difficult to find one without a Panoramic Vista Roof. Thanks.
