  1. Late August '08, I paid $22,900 (+ttt) for an '07 Blazing Copper SEL+ with everything available, minus Nav and Tow. It had 13K miles on it and it was sitting on the Dodge lot for over a month, cobwebs on the back window and all. KBB was nearly $28K at the time, so I snatched it up. I put $1500 down. I dropped my Nissan lease off at the Nissan dealership with 2 years left on it. The Edge deal was too good to let go, although I knew I'd be facing early termination fees w/ the Nissan, but, oh well, I looooove my Edge. Ok, ok, the wife's Edge.
  2. Ahhh...the list of mods grows. It's the wife's Edge and she's not sure what to think of all my "wants". I've already done a few things (new sound, hardwired nav, tinted tails..). I want a magnaflow exhaust, hoping that it doesn't sound too ricey like the delta 40 series. With a flash tune, intake and exhaust, she'll thank me when she stomps that BMW from the redlight..
  3. VERY nice. Thanks for your time and dedication to all of us Edge Heads :hyper:
  4. Mine does the same thing in my Edge, however, my cargo van reads +/- 1mph on my nav.
  5. Thanks for the info Blue! i'll check it out. This Florida heat is relentless. Here it is nearly Halloween and still sweatin on the way to the mailbox... :yup:
  6. While waiting at a light, I decided to hold mine down. The msg center displayed something about pressing reset to reset Zone 8, I decided not to. I pressed it again and it said to press reset to recalibrate, or info to exit. I pressed info. Maybe it has something to do with the compass that's in that little box. If you unplug the harness to the box, you wil hear a 'ding' and your msg center will tell you that it cannot read or find the compass.
  7. Love the Blazing Copper (now discontinued), BAMR (minus the velcro ingenuity), I agree w/ Lex, the puddle lamps are upscale. The reclining rear seats are sweet for company and the BAM! look at me grille! ...and just got my tan husky floor liners in!! With that Camel carpet, they're a must. They also have a more noticeable "deadpedal" to rest your foot. ok, enough babbling....NEXT!?
  8. In my own experience owning and operating a mobile detailing biz here in FL, I have been in thousands and thousands of cars...from Kia Rios to Rolls Royces. A BMW's blower (at least in the 645 ci coupe and 745iL sedan) will blow your glasses off. It takes a sec for the computer to tell it to come on, but the air gets cool very quickly and blows fast (and loud). The only issue I have with the Edge's A/C is that it doesn't hit me in the face, unless I am "pimpin"
  9. IMO, they should've already been there, like most other cars. Even the Ford website only has the 2009 Flex listed.
  10. This doesn't work on SEL+ with Audiophile system. Only the radio gets louder. Sounds like the beeps are coming from the hatch.
  11. I do have to clean the bugs off of mine, why wasn't it plastic like all other cars? The roof opens up about as much as my friends forester and they have a plastic one.
  12. Not much...amp failure and that DAMN BAMR rattle!!!! :angry2:
  13. Since my sub wasn't working when I bought my SEL+, an aftermarket 120W JBL amp was installed (at no cost) to drive the stock sub. I must say that it pushes the stock sub nicely (as long as the gain is down and the frequency is right.) The smaller of the 3 harnesses on the back of your head unit goes to the stock amp. The audio shop tapped into those wires, converting them to RCA. Both channels of the amp went to the stock sub. Acc'd to the JL site, you're correct, you'll have to cut your existing panel in the back. I'm not too thrilled about that either. If you don't cut it out, I'm sure that the plastic cargo wall with rattle like hell. I'm no "expert", but I hope that answers some of your questions.
  14. There are products on steedaedge.com. You may find them cheaper elsewhere.
  15. nice...how much w/camera? Is the mirror auto dim? Did not see them under back up aids.
  16. I fully agree. However...no factory nav and lack of funds to get one only allows me to go with what I have. I use a backup camera in my detailing van, but adding yet another small screen (have an aftermarket nav) to my Edge's dash/windshield will only increase the "clutter".
  17. The cooled glovebox is my assumption (yes, we all know what that can do) because I stuck my hand in the glovebox and held it as far closed as I could and felt airflow. Albeit, it wasn't extreme, but there was air moving in there.
  18. Just wondering if and how I could adjust the volume on the sensors or wire them into the stereo. I like lound music and have aftermarket sound and unless I damn near turn the radio OFF, I can't hear those beeps. They come in handy.
  19. Wow, $625...I think I'll continue to use my MDF board and build my own for my Blau 10"...however, it won't be as pretty as this one!
  20. I wouldn't let the dealer touch it. Never do. The guys in the back give it a quick wash with dirty rags, or worse, an automatic car wash hits it and they bring it around to you. No thanks. I own a detailing business and I know what scratches finishes. Dirty rags, hard water and drying materials f the paint up each and every time. The salesman looked at me like I was crazy when I told him not to have it cleaned...
  21. The glove box is air cooled. Opening it blocks the cutout for the glovebox, therefore that air is redirected to the vents.
  22. I give it 4 stars. Very roomy and stylish. Engine is smooth (hardly feel it idling at the light). Some interior materials could be better and that damn BAMR trim rattle is about to get me to purchase some gorilla glue. Great ride overall. I'd buy again.

  24. Ahhhhh.....bass. The dealer we bought it from paid for 904 Motorsports to put in a JBL GT5-A402 amp so that the sub, finally, works. I must say...it's a far nicer amp than the stock one. I guess, in a way, I am glad that the sub didn't work when we bought it.
