  1. My wife's 2015 3.7L V6 water pump started leaking at 63K miles and a little research uncovered a TSB covering the premature pump failure and the cure being a check valve in a hose that runs from the expansion tank to the thermostat housing. The TSB covers models up to 2014 and my wife's being a 2015 should have had the check valve installed in the factory, but it didn't have it - my dealership contacted Ford Corp and they agreed to implement the TSB. Could it be that this check valve plays a role in the pump failures on the 3.5 and 3.7L Edge? https://ford.oemdtc.com/588/coolant-pump-leakage-2011-2014-ford-mustang TSB 14-0212 ISSUE: Some 2011-2014 Mustang vehicles equipped with a 3.7L engine may exhibit coolant pump leakage due to air entering the system.
  2. My dealership used an impact wrench on my 2017 Sport for its first couple of tire rotations, and chipped the coating on my wheels and damaged the two-part lug nuts. Ford replaced the lug nuts and I do all tire rotations without using my impact wrench on them.
  3. I get this error when attempting to access the Classified section. Sorry, there is a problem You do not have permission to view this content. Error code: 1F176/3

  6. Welcome. Try a forum search and you'll find a number of threads on that topic, and a few that will answer that question in detail. Please consider adding location and Model/Year to your signature - https://www.fordedgeforum.com/settings/?area=signature
  7. I run the $17 Ford Motorcraft and real happy with it. Its highly unlikely that the engine can ingest/swallow the volume of air that the stock air filter's flow restriction inhibits performance.
  8. Seems an awful lot just for the sound.
  9. I bought my Sport new in March 2017 and by the time they released the new map version mine did not qualify for a free update, even though the maps were about 5 years out of date at the time I bought - I just paid and got the new version. 10. Sorry that your thread hasn't drawn many comments, but keep it to just one thread, this one.
  11. Recently I can only have the acc power on for 5 max 10 minutes before I get the warning that the battery is running low, and in response to that warning I start it and when it starts all the dash values such as remaining miles on tank etc. are reset, indicating that the battery is nearing end of life. This is my daily commute, so don't encounter any issues, only on the odd occasion when I use it on acc power to access the setting or dial in a GPS address. Bought the vehicle in March 2017, and I guess 3+ years is only the low end for what I'd expect for life, seeing as its used daily. How long did your original battery last, and any upgraded batteries available in addition to going up in size seeing as the space for that length wise?
  12. Welcome. Moved to its own thread. If that mechanic is real confident in his diagnostics will he eat the cost of the fuel pump if that doesn't solve the problem? Please consider adding location and vehicle Model / Year to your signature - https://www.fordedgeforum.com/settings/signature/

  14. Not wise to mix the fluid types. https://www.cartechbooks.com/techtips/autotransfluid#:~:text=Mercon LV—the latest Ford, used to replace those fluids. I don't believe that only one Drain-Fill gives you 85-90% change - how did you arrive at those numbers. I would not climb under a vehicle while is half way up the ramps.

  19. Welcome. This is going to be difficult for us to offer valuable advice when it appears you don't trust what the service shop is telling you. It would be best to have an AC specialist shop look at it, .....not a mechanics shop. 20. Most certainly, and you'd have read in the other same topic threads that third party replacements for these fans are particularly problematic. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Motorcraft Ford launched this auto parts division in 1972 to provide replacement parts and original equipment parts. https://www.motorcraft.com/ https://parts.ford.com/en/us/resources/motorcraft
  21. Looks like it's going to cost you the Motorcraft price and the Pacific Best. Those previous threads on the same subject are most useful to avoid this scenario.
  22. That's right, its not a scientific or technical explanation, and really just assumption that the tailpipe discharge is coming from the valves. At 60K miles on my GDI Sport, on the very few occasions that I've stepped on the gas real heavy there's been no tailpipe discharge, and that's many weeks between such events. The tailpipe discharge is more likely from the Catalytic Converters.
