  1. Power Transfer Unit (PTU) fluid. 12.7 ± 1.7 fl oz (375 ± 50 ml)
  2. If you can truly feel a change, and you're sure its not placebo, there may be damage done and can expect a shorter life from the PTU.
  3. Is it configured to only switch on when the high beams are on? On my daily commute to work there's a few pickup trucks with those lights that have no consideration for other road users, blinding the oncoming road users.
  4. I second that - intentionally degrading the tail and brake lights just doesn't make sense, .....just unsafe.
  5. Based on what I've read in this thread, and the fact that I have no interest in having the fastest Sport, .......its not a silly conclusion, but a practical conclusion.
  6. That's the first thing I noticed when I installed the Atturo's.
  7. I plan on keeping my 2017 Sport for a long time and have been using Mobil 1 from the first oil change with Motorcraft oil filters. Many will say I'm over conservative, but at the cost of my DIY oil changes I'm good with my chosen 5K mile interval. I drive very sedately and at the time of my 5K mile oil changes the IOLM indicates remaining oil life around 50%, which means if I went by that I'd be doing oil changes at around 10K miles, which of course I'd never consider.
  8. No need to remove the TPMS sensors nor the valve stems. At around three years on my Sport I installed new tires and didn't touch them, but might look at changing them when the next set of tires are due seeing as the sensors batteries will be near end of life.
  9. At around 9K miles my Powerstop K7231 brakes started making a noise with vibration - received a complete warranty replacement kit that have gone way past that and still working good. Those are the last drilled and slotted rotors I'll buy.
  10. Although the law allows the use of filters that meet or exceed the vehicle manufacturers specification, its safer to stick with the OEM filter while under warranty to avoid the added complication of proving that a third party filter does meet the requirements in the unfortunate event of an engine problem.
  11. Comparison of three filters. I bought the K&N HP-7037, just out of curiosity and make a comparison, Amazon's price was just below the Motorcraft FL2062 I see no difference between the PS-7037 and the HP-7037 other than the O-ring material. The PS-7037, HP-7037 and the FL-2062 all have 39 pleats of filter medium that appear to be of the same density. I am confident using any of these three filters. Current prices on Amazon: K&N HP-7037 $12.32 K&N PS-7037 $14.21 (seen this one as low as $8.99) Motorcraft FL-2062 $8.99
  12. When I did my wife's 2015 Mustang, I fully drained the Orange and filled with the new Yellow, no flush. I ordered the concentrated Orange on Amazon and when the Yellow arrived I was about to return it when I read on the S550 Mustang forum that there's been a change. Genuine Ford Fluid VC-3-B Orange Concentrated Antifreeze/Coolant - 1 Gallon https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00BNVK14U/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o08_s02?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Notes: WARNING: MFR INDICATES THIS IS A CA PROP 65 ITEM, ORANGE CONCENTRATED ANTIFREEZE / COOLANT - GALLON
  13. I always stock up when Costco has Mobil-1 on special, and then process the rebate online - done this for the last 5 years.
  14. I would rather trust the official notice from Ford Corp. than a few guys at the local dealership. Did you see the link I attached to another thread on the same topic, and the PDF included? www.fcsdchemicalsandlubricants.com/quickref/FCSD%20Motorcraft%20Yellow%20Antifreeze-Coolant%20Backward%20Compatability.pdf Version 2 August 2020 Backward Compatibility/Use of Motorcraft® Yellow Antifreeze/Coolant with/in place of Motorcraft® Orange Antifreeze/Coolant and Motorcraft® Specialty Green Engine Coolant with Bittering Agent Ford Engineering has approved the use of yellow-colored Motorcraft® Yellow Antifreeze/Coolant (Ford specifications WSS-M97B57-A1 and WSS-M97B57-A2) to service all Ford, Lincoln, and Mercury vehicles factory-filled with the following antifreeze/coolants: • Orange-colored Motorcraft® Orange Antifreeze/Coolant (Ford specifications WSS-M97B44-D and WSS-M97B44-D2) • Dark green-colored Motorcraft® Specialty Green Engine Coolant with Bittering Agent (Ford specification WSS-M97B55-A) Important: Do not use Motorcraft® Yellow Antifreeze/Coolant to service Ford, Lincoln, and Mercury vehicles factory-filled with any other Motorcraft® antifreeze/coolant. In the case of these vehicles, Motorcraft® Yellow Antifreeze/Coolant is not compatible and therefore is not approved for use. Continue to service these vehicles using only the correct recommended antifreeze/coolant. Service Information for using Motorcraft® Yellow Antifreeze/Coolant with/in place of Motorcraft® Orange Antifreeze/Coolant and Motorcraft® Specialty Green Engine Coolant with Bittering Agent Topping off, Draining and Refilling: • Motorcraft® Yellow Antifreeze/Coolant can be used to top-off or entirely replace (drain and refill) antifreeze/coolant in vehicles factory-filled with Motorcraft® Orange Antifreeze/Coolant and Motorcraft® Specialty Green Engine Coolant. Flushing: • Flushing the cooling system is not required prior to entirely replacing (draining and refilling) Motorcraft® Orange Antifreeze/Coolant or Motorcraft® Specialty Green Engine Coolant with Bittering Agent with Motorcraft® Yellow Antifreeze/Coolant if the cooling system is not contaminated. Normal Scheduled Maintenance: • Follow the factory-fill antifreeze/coolant change-out intervals in the Scheduled Maintenance section of the vehicle’s Owner’s Manual. o Example: A 2019 Ford Escape factory-filled with Motorcraft® Orange Antifreeze/Coolant that is topped-off/replaced with Motorcraft® Yellow Antifreeze/Coolant must adhere to the antifreeze/coolant change-out intervals in the 2019 Ford Escape Owner’s Manual’s Scheduled Maintenance section - “initial replacement at six years or 100,000 mi (160,000 km), then every three years or 50,000 mi (80,000 km)”. This is what it looks like mixed 50/50
  15. Which filter would be best for a daily commuter? K&N PS-7037 or the HP-7037? https://www.amazon.com/K-N-HP-7037-Oil-Filter/dp/B07SKJ77YM/ref=sr_1_1?dchild=1&keywords=HP-7037&qid=1599428131&sr=8-1 https://www.amazon.com/K-N-PS-7037-Oil-Filter/dp/B01LAXYY02/ref=sr_1_2?dchild=1&keywords=PS-7037&qid=1599428226&sr=8-2
  16. I have never been interested in a "tune" and this thread has made me less likely to consider it in the future.
  17. They may not be in agreement with your diagnostics and failure analysis results, and what accountability are you expecting from them. They will have a clause that covers them against claims of consequential damage, and with that in place you effectively agreed that the risk is solely on yourself. None of us here know both parties story, so lets not turn this into a smear campaign - keep it cordial as you have been.
  18. I have zero interest in a tune, but from what I've read here folks are generally happy with Livernois. What was Liverois' response?
  19. This year Ford replaced the Orange with Yellow,
  20. Not so obvious, ......many here change the PTU fluid themselves. Depends on Year/Model. Please consider adding Location and Year/Model to your profile signature - https://www.fordedgeforum.com/settings/signature/
  21. Browse the forum threads on this and I believe you'll find the personal preference ranges from every 30K miles to every 50K miles. I do it myself at around 30K miles.
  22. There's no "chain on that axle" , what made you think there was? Please add your location and vehicle model/year to your profile signature - https://www.fordedgeforum.com/settings/signature/
  23. My Sport bought new in March 2017 battery has shown than its nearing end of life, which is about when you can expect it to need replacement. I can tell because the time with it on ACC power before the warning to start the engine or shut down, has reduced considerably - I have one of the Jump Start packs so will wait to replace the battery when starts showing signs of a slow start.
