BaZZaD What are you planning to do, rebuild and bore the engine, ......... if you rebore then obviously you need the oversize rings that have an increased Outside Diameter. The reason why some places don't stock the standard ring sets is because most folks needed rings have rebored the engine.

I was in that position 5.5 years ago. That's because folks don't rush to report their trouble free rides. There's a few of the 2.0L that had coolant ingress into the combustion chamber that needed engine replacements, and a few earlier models with PTU issues, the internal coolant pump on the 3.5L, but in general as far as I can tell they're reliable. What model, engine, trim are you considering?

Yes I've used the Cyanlabs update twice, the first time was a significant update to the graphics etc. and the FREE maps, and the second time I didn't notice much of an update on either the system or maps. Before I used it the first time I paid for a map update which pissssssed me off because my 2017 had old 2015 maps. When Cyanlabs first came out with this they didn't have their app, and that's why I was weary to try it, but now its simple. Anyway, Ford no longer offer Sync updates for a 2017 model.

The latest Map version comes with a feature that the previous ones didn't have - In Screen View you can select to display Turn List, and then chose the roads to avoid. BUT, unfortunately its not smart enough to remember the "Avoided" roads the next time you select the same destination.

Using Cyanlabs I updated my system and the maps from NA2-20 to NA 2-21 and it corrected the routing. https://cyanlabs.net/applications/syn3updater/

Yes, definitely the map update from NA 1-18 to NA 2-20 screwed the routing. The original NA 1-18 didn't have my subdivision, which was developed around 2015, but at least it would use appropriate roads which was useful at in the first 5 years of ownership while I still had the free Sirius Traffic.

Nope, that didn't help. About 15 to 20 miles from work it takes me on a very narrow single car width road which is much slower. I deselected "Always Use Route" and that presents three routes to your destination and all three chose this unsuitable narrow road. This leaves me with a total lack of confidence when selecting a route to a destination that I'm unfamiliar with if it screw up my basic work commute. This is the route that the Sync3 used prior to the map update, and Garmin uses: This is the route the updated Sync3 uses regardless of settings: Single car width poorly maintained road running alongside the Ohio River:

With very little info its impossible to reliably offer any suggestions on what could be the cause - reading the stored error codes would be the best starting point.

Do a forum search - there's a few reports on here about the Dorman not working as it should - Motocraft is the only one that does.
-
What brand cooling fans? Try a forum search for which brands work, and which don't - non-OEM don't. They should run when the AC is on.
-
I believe my suspicion is correct, the tire shop fitted an incompatible sensor based on the fact that your handheld shows its working but the OBD device says its bad.
-
Wonder what sensor brand they used, and if it could be a compatibility issue with the vehicle, but the tool still reads it?

When I first encountered the wayward routing after the last map update I searched for this option which is typical on standalone GPS units, but couldn't find anything like that, so would welcome any pointers. It still leaves me with a lack of confidence setting a route in an area that I'm unfamiliar with, and no traffic alerts.
-
The original map version in my 2017 Sport was reliable, but didn't have the roads in my subdivision - I updated the maps and it screwed the routing. If I hit "work" to takes me on a route that has very poor quality narrow roads and adds significant time to my commute. Also, the 5 year SiriusXM Traffic expired, so no more auto-routing and alerts. Now if I need navigation, particularly routes that are unfamiliar, I use CarPlay with Google Maps or Waze - Waze seems more accurate with traffic alerts and re-routing. I might try another map update, but until then I have zero confidence in the routing. BTW, what model do you have - please add that to your signature - www.fordegeforum.com/settings/signature

Car won't accelerate when pressing the gas
1004ron replied to oldtownroller's topic in All Wheel Drive (AWD)
There could be stored error codes, but you'll only know that if you check. Does it respond to the throttle when in park or neutral? -
There's no way it could have run on starter fluid if there was no spark, so something you've done since then has killed the spark. It appears that you have started throwing parts at it hoping for the best, which typically has poor odds with something like this.

What TPMS tester did you use? Maybe @Haz can help with info onn testing the cars receivers.

Add Nav to 22 Edge Titanium?
1004ron replied to Inspidship's topic in Audio, Backup, Navigation & SYNC
No way to "enable" it using Forscan or any other device, but you can purchase a new/used APIM and GPS antenna, install that and configure it with Forscan. I can PM you the contact for the person I bought the hardware from when I did this with my wife's Mustang, and he remotes in to do the configuration. -
Any update on this, and response to the comments? Has the issue been resolved and was it covered under warranty? Did you actually want to keep the failed radiator and thermostat? - when Ford installs new warranty replacement parts, the old ones belong to them.

Get the stored error codes read and go from there. -
$600 for parts and labor seems about right to me.
