  1. I intended to bring this to Ford's attention at my first service, but when making the appointment for later this week they told me that they don't deal with it and I need to take it to the Ford collision centre, so stopped there on the way home today. They asked the usual questions like has it been bumped etc., and the mileage, took photos and said that they need to send this off to Ford Corp for their instructions, and mentioned that they could get the go ahead or may ask for a tape test to assess if its an adhesion problem. They would apply tape in the area where its peeled and then yank it off to see how much paint comes with it. They said it would take a few days to repair and I'd get a loaner for that time.
  2. Sorry to hear of your ordeal. Sounds like your dealerships diagnostic skills are lacking - its bad enough to having a problem with a brand new car, but to me they've made the experience far worse. I'd consider another dealership. Hope it gets sorted quickly and you can start enjoying your new car, but make sure that you maintain detailed documents in case you need to go the route of the Lemon Law. Any conversations with the dealership, followup with emails etc. to have a written record.
  3. My Sport will go in for its first service by Ford in about two weeks from now, and I wanted to clearly identify the leak before then, so A\about 1.5K miles back I cleaned everything in the area with BrakeClean and checked it out today and found the source of the oil to be what I assume is the oil pressure switch. Is the oil pressure switch a typical leakage location?
  4. That's also my concern, mine is small right now and if I was confident that its only this one spot I live with a touch-up, but I believe its a sign that its more than an isolated spot.
  5. Good luck with the new bumper and thanks for the heads up that your dealership is ordering a new bumper, I now know what to insist on when I take it in for the first dealership service at 10K miles in about two or three weeks.
  6. As far as I can tell its the same PTU with a drain plug. It may be too early to to tell if the 2017's are having the same issues.
  7. Are you collecting something in your set up, or is your results much the same as Beezz? I was keen on getting a catch can on my new Sport from the start, but after reading Beezz report I held off - thanks for all your efforts Beez.
  8. I'm also keen to hear of others that have had it done before I give them the go ahead, even if they have the parts when I go in for my first service I might chose not to do it then, because I do not want the issues that @Quila reported above.
  9. Thanks. As small as it is now, my concern is that there's an adhesion problem.
  10. While my wife was polishing my car this afternoon she spotted a defect in the paint - see the attached photo. The paint is actually peeling off the plastic front bumper on the right side where it meets the headlamp. I'll address this with the dealership when I take it for the first service in about 3K miles from now, but just wanted your opinion on how they should deal with this - touch-up or repaint?
  11. My apologies if this has been posted - I searched but couldn't find any posts on it. I received the subject recall notice in the mail and would like to hear from others that have had the recall done and if there's any signs that the trim etc. has been worked on. I'm OK with my local Ford dealership doing it, but want to be sure that my vehicle isn't the first one they do and any of the trim is damaged while doing so - don't want them practising on my car.
  12. Would one of you be kind and check the attached photo and compare it to your car and tell me if there's something missing on my engine cover mounting. I'm guessing that the threaded brass piece should have a post in it that engages in a rubber grommet in the cover.
  13. All my cars that had leather seats I applied Lexol conditioner from new and it kept the leather like new until sold many years later - now with the Sport and its suede inserts on the seats I cant apply Lexol, at least not to the suede parts. I'm not sure if its genuine suede, but does anyone have suggestions on how to treat the Sport seats?
  14. I had mine done for $65 and very happy with the results. Having seen how its done, I'll not be trying the YouTube DIY methods.
  15. I serviced my Sport at 5K miles, changing the PTU oil using Royal Purple, and the engine oil and filter using Mobil-1 and OEM filter. I would like to take it to my dealership at around 10K miles or when the intelligent service indicator says its due, but would like to stick with the oil I'm using, Mobil-1 but before I asked them I'd like to hear from members if this is generally accepted by Ford dealerships. Of course I keep all my receipts for the services I do - by law this should uphold my warranty, but would like to hear if others doing this have had any issues with warranty claims being rejected on DIY services.
  16. Thanks for the responses - I think I wont take the risk of making it worse with a DIY attempt and rather take it to a local shop.
  17. My 2 month old Sport has a ding in the passenger door and I've seen a few DIY methods in a Google search and I'm considering a professional service to remove the ding. Does anyone have experience with the DIY or professional service? - should I try one of the DIY methods and if that doesn't do it take it to a pro?
  18. You don't say which model Edge you have. As far as I know, Ford started installing the drain plug from 2015 in the Sport, but have no idea if this applies to the other models.
  19. My Sport was built in Jan 2017, and this weekend I did an oil and oil filter change at 5.2K miles and noticed what looks like an oil leak, however it looks odd because the oil was clean, and there was no oil on the underside cover, and no oil spots on my garage floor. I've cleaned it and if I see more oil on the next oil change I'll be taking to my dealership.
  20. Changed my engine oil and oil filter and PTU oil today at 5.2K mi. There was oil on the right rear corner of the oil pan, but I could not see where it came from and it was clear like new oil, so I'm suspecting that it was dropped when the engine was being topped up at the factory or dealer - cleaned it up and if I see more at the next service I'll lodge a warranty claim.
  21. Today I changed engine oil, oil filter, and PTU oil at 5,200 mi. The PTU oil change was real easy with the drain fitted on these later models. As can be seen in the photo, the oil blacken the paper towel and there was a few filling attached to the drain plug magnet. I used Royal Purple 75-140 synthetic, and will most likely change it every 10 ~ 15K
  22. Looking forward to the pictures and additional detail.
  23. My Sport built in Jan 2017 has the same fob as in the picture above.
  24. Welcome and congrats on your new Sport. I've had mine just over one month and loving it.
  25. Ford don't make mud flaps for the Sport rear, so I went ahead and ordered the ones for the front, which should help reduce the dirt flung up onto the sides. These are really good quality made n Germany, but don't match the Sport side trim profile - see the pictures. We're moving into a new home in a week or two, so will need to drill the 6mm hole for the 4th plastic rivet after the move.
