  1. And I have answered it before...There is no official date. I have now heard of 2 2016 Edges getting it OTA. That is it. Just download the file and install it. It is easy, takes very little time, and installs why you are driving.
  2. My experience is the 50F is the mark. If ambient is below 50, and I remote start the seat and steering wheel heat.
  3. Actually, what you are asking has been answered a couple of times, but I completely understand not wanting to read all 13 pages... You do not need to swap out your hub, you just need to update to 2.2: Here is the update if you have Nav: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0Bxlap1Uv4Q55NnhBMjdEaUtfZms/view?usp=sharing Here is the update if you don't have Nav: https://drive.google.com/open?id=0Bxlap1Uv4Q55NGRBaHBDTTJsYU0
  4. Looks good! How did you do that Black on the Hood?
  5. The color difference is so small, and it is in a panel that stay closed most of the time(atleast for me) that it is not worth sweating over. Did the Lincoln part and don't regret it at all.
  6. Technically they HAVE been. Just not for upgrade OTA on our cars. 2.0 came on late 2016, and as we discovered, no CarPlay certified Hub. If I was to guess, any 2017 coming off the line now has 2.2, and we already know they have CarPlay certified hubs. There was one Edge owner on here who got his update to 2.2 OTA, but he appears to be an exception. Several Lincolns are getting the update OTA. You can wait for Ford, or just download the file and install it. If you want CarPlay to work though you will need to replace the hub.
  7. You are correct, nothing to turn on. Need to be running iOS 10, and plug your phone in. It will come up and pair with the car.
  8. You plug your phone in via USB? It didn't show up on my wife's Expy until I plugged my phone in the first time. It was worth a try. So it appears when the Edges are involved, no 2016's had the upgraded hub. That does not hold true for other 2016 Fords.
  9. That is probably dead on. I am merely trying to say, absolution when it comes to years, and versions will get you in trouble when car manufacturers are concerned. I dealt with this on my VW's and I don't expect Ford to be any different.
  10. Also, REALLY not trying to start one either. I am going by in person hands on experience, not some article. Several 2017's including an Explorer had 2.0 and CarPlay did not work, until I upgraded it to 2.2. So, All I can say, not ALL 2.0's will work with just the hub upgraded across the Ford Model lines, and not ALL 2016's need the hub replaced, just the install for 2.2 for CP to work. Bottom line, the upgrade to 2.2 is free, and requires no money to do. It also does not require taking hardware apart. It is worth a try, and costs nothing other than a little time. There are other features gained by the update. The improved voice prompts is by far the best thing.
  11. Yep. The one I can remember for sure was a 2016 Expedition. Had 2.0, took it to 2.2, and CarPlay worked.
  12. HD, Can completely understand your confusion. I don't think it is hard and dry like I mentioned in my reply to 27Sport. Nothing lost right if you try the update first? Save you some money if it does. If it doesn't, you order the hub and install it. Worth a try. Good Luck!
  13. So, OK. I am wrong for your 1 car and what you read on the F150 forums. How many have you actually done? I have 20+ Sync 3 installed Fords with my own hands. That ranges from Escapes, Explorers, Fusions, Expeditions, Mustangs, and 1 F150, and 2 Edges. One Edge was mine. It is a 16 and had 1.1. Had to install the Hub, and the update. One edge was a 17, and had 2.0. Car Play was not there. Upgraded from 2.0 to 2.2, and tada Car Play worked, no hub needed, but did need the software update. 3 Expeditions I did. 1 was my wifes 17, it had 2.0, and needed 2.2 for CarPlay to activate. The 2nd was a late 16, and it also had 2.0 and needed 2.2 for Carplay to activate. It did not need a replacement of the hub. The 3rd was an earlier 16 and was at 1.1 and needed the upgrade to 2.2, and apparently a hub, because AA showed up, but CP would not work. The owner was going to order a 17 hub and hook it up. Haven't heard back from him. Other than one, every vehicle I have touched that had 2.0, all it needed was the update to 2.2 for CP to work. So you could be right, that no 16 edge came with a working hub. And there might be different versions of 2.0 running around out there, one with Car Play and one without. I don't believe that is true, and hasn't appeared to be from my testing. Only time will tell. I think drawing a hard line with years, or Sync versions is not helpful, because of the way Ford does things.
  14. Or the chipset in the Samsung phones has an issue with the chipset that Ford is using. There are many layers to this problem. Android also allows 3rd party apps to "mess" with the BT Stack, that Apple does not allow. It could be some Samsung Specific software on the phone causing the incompatibility.
  15. I have heard of one 16 Edge getting the update OTA. Maybe others will chime in. I have used the update provided by JMR01 to take MANY 2.0 equipped vehicles to 2.2. Not true in most cases, at least from my personal experience. If your Ford vehicle has Sync 3, v2.0 it has the Apple Certified hub, and just needs the upgrade to 2.2.
  16. Car Play is NOT active in 2.0 Even with the correct Apple certified Hub. 2.0 gives you Android Auto. 2.2 Gives you Car Play. If you have 2.0 you most likely do not need the hub, just the upgrade to 2.2. Give the upgrade a try before purchasing the Hub. I have helped 20+ people local, and several not local to me on various Ford vehicles get Car Play working. Only had one that had 2.0 that CarPlay did not work after the upgrade to 2.2. Found out from the owner that the radio had been replaced under warranty, so it could have been taken to 2.0 without actually having the newest hub hardware. So far, if it has 2.0, and I take it to 2.2 Car Play now works. That includes my wife's 17 Expedition.
  17. Because of the Adaptive Steering, pretty sure they are all pricey.
  18. Glad you did what multiple people have said in the thread not to do. That is remove the USB stick before it tells you to. The issue with the Maps after the update was also covered. Just for clarity, it does NOT do the update from the flash drive. It copies it, then does it from the internal storage. It actually doesn't finish until the unit is rebooted. It also then needs to reindex and load the Map data, which takes a bit. Sometimes people have to reboot the unit to have Maps return.
  19. If it is the part number from the 17 Edge, then yes, it will work.
  20. While I partially agree with you...You cannot fully blame Ford. Google just like Apple makes changes to their OS's during updates that sometimes negatively affect 3rd party devices like SYNC. The interesting thing, is the 2 people complaining in this thread, are both Samsung Devices. And I would also disagree that they aren't keeping current. They are behind when they said they would originally release CP and AA, but they have now. Sean said the update to 2.2 did not fix his, but it might yours. Is your Phone at its most current OS? IF not, what is it at?
  21. Are you on 2.2? If not, what version? Mine stays on. Connects to my house whenever close.
  22. You have an Edge? What year? Not aware of any Edges that are getting the 2.2 update via Wifi...
  23. When you get your Edge back, do the following steps for me if you don't mind. 1. Unpair on both sides, the phone and car. Reboot your phone, reboot the radio(turn car off, open door, close door). 2. Pair and try multiple Voicemails, see if issue still occurs. 3. Hook up phone via cable and enable Android Auto. Play Voicemail via that connection and see if it acts any differently. Thanks!
  24. Huh? So you know there is a setting or you think there might be? All Android phones? Just Samsung? Any particular flavor of the OS? So you aren't supporting the version of Sync that is actually being sent to some vehicles? Did you miss the part where it was happening before 2.2? It is not a big leap to think the update might help....
