  1. I found a set of Tryco's at O'Reilly. Plug and play 5 minute install. Might get some rain this weekend to check them out. Again, thanks for all the info.
  2. Wow. Great info. Thanks guys. I checked out the Anco 31 series. They are an OEM replacement but a step up from regular OEM blades. Prolly buy a set tomorrow. Thanks again.
  3. Thanks. I'll check those out. I have Rain-X'd my windshield in the past but that eventually wears off. Never done a clay bar treatment.
  4. Hey all, I need a new set of wipers. I don't want to get a set of cheapo's that only last 3 months but I also don't want to break the bank. Anyone have any good experiences with any particular brand? These are for my '11 LTD without the rain sensing windshield (if that matters.) Thanks for any feedback. - Duane
  5. Costco is my go to Top Tier provider. There is one right on my way to work and that sticker is on all their pumps. We are planning about a 2k mile trip at the end of this month and I plan to run Top Tier (as always) and some Techron through the Edge to help keep her running nice and clean!
  6. +1 on the Weathertechs. I have those for the front and rear seats. I have a full floor Husky Liner for the cargo area.
  7. Yes, brake booster. Not master cylinder.
  8. More than likely master cylinder. Pretty standard symptoms. When you do the diagnostic suggested by lildisco have someone open the hood and listen for a hissing sound. If you have the sound... master cylinder. There is a TSB on it and a Ford authorized repair process. I had my master cylinder replaced no charge when it went out. Do a search here and I'm sure you'll find the details.
  9. If you really need additional illumination I might suggest a light bar. Putting halogens or HID's in the existing housings is only going to make the existing spread pattern brighter and not provide significant greater/wider illumination. A switchable light bar would provide a greater spread and better road illumination. However, you would have to be aware of having to turn it on or off whenever an oncoming car approached due to potential blinding issues, and you would have to find a place to mount it and wire it up which might be too much of a hassle. Just throwing it out there are as possible solution.
  10. When I'm driving, there's always a little extra gas in the car!
  11. I go 30k intervals on my ATF, 20k intervals on my PTU, and a 50k interval on my RDU. Works for me and its really not that hard to do, although I do have my shop do the 'suck and fill' on the PTU. All Motorcraft fluids except on the oil, I use Mobil-1.
  12. Mac, I watched your last video about the lug nuts. But I am confused.. what does 'lug nut expansion' mean? They swell up? How do they do that? I like the DP Accessories lug nuts but only for aesthetic reasons. What problems would 'swollen up' lug nuts cause? Just need a little more info the understand the issue better. Thanks!!
  13. Uh oh. Red calipers are a sign your brakes might be bleeding.
  14. Awesome! But, good God man, what is all that white stuff on the ground!? They are predicting a 'wintry mix sleet and slush' here tonight in Dallas. (I'm gonna' have to Google 'wintry mix.')
  15. I don't think there is a downside other than the cost and the fact that it's not needed. You can drink Perrier exclusively all your life and take it camping with you if you want, but it's really not needed, But if it makes YOU feel better, then that's all that counts.
  16. +1 on this ^. I put AutoAnything 4 wheel kits on my '11 LTD. Pads, rotors, etc, and associated hardware for $241 last Feb. These were the OEM replacement brakes, no performance stuff. You might check them out.

    She’s dead :(

Heh.... "There's Corey (say hi Corey).. and there's my effing smashed to !@#$ car!" Sorry buddy, but yeah, that IS smashed to !@#$!! Terrible feeling but at least no one in your family was injured. I would agree that the lower miles Edge would be the way to go. When I bought my '11 LTD it had about the same miles on it and was in great shape. I researched buying at CarMax and a general theme was that while they offer a 'CarMax Warranty' in reality they will do whatever it takes to NOT cover anything, or attempt to exclude whatever YOUR particular problem is. I think a Carmax warranty is worthless IMHO. Now they DO have a pretty good selection of cars to choose from, and you can get the one you want even if it is on another Carmax lot (for a shipping fee) but I would not consider their warranty an advantage. Hope things work our for you.
  18. I keep a Kidde mini fire extinguisher in my emergency kit. Bought it when I had the Explorer and just transferred it over when I bought the Edge. I keep it mostly for peace of mind and if I see an emergency other than one with my car. Maybe a bit daffy but it makes ME feel better.
  19. Nick, sorry you're having so many problems. Your sit rep makes me a bit upset. You're a service member, You deserve an automobile that doesn't cause headaches like that. You've got other things to worry about. Hope things get resolved satisfactorily.
  20. I didn't even know that my '11 LTD HAD a low wiper fluid light. Thanks mv-clear. Is that the same for the blinker fluid??
  21. The BAMR on my '11 Ltd has been fine so far. I really don't use it that much but its nice when I do. I'm keeping my fingers crossed on my PTU and BAMR. Regular lubing is key on the BAMR, and I do 20k intervals on the PTU.
  22. Depending upon your budget for your brakes, you might take a look at the Powerstop OEM kit from AutoAnything. I got their 4-wheel kit that included rotors, pads, shims, lube, etc.. for $241 with free shipping. Kit # is KOE5452. This was in Feb of last year. Pricing may have changed YMMV. I think they also have a performance kit available also. I don't have any interest in AutoAnything, just thought I'd pass the info along.
