Interesting that my dealer, Park Place Lexis of Plano, TX. did give me a usb drive with all the sales docs on it. Unfortunately NOT a copy of the original Monroney.

Nice writeup! My PRNDS console does not light up (along with my emergency flashers being inoperable) and am thinking I'm going to have to pull the console like you did. Did you verify that that bulb was for the PRNDS console selector? Did you find out where it attaches? I assume you got it working?

Of course vehicles that are in stock at a local dealer or in Ford's inventory have the sticker available. That's not the issue. I'm talking (and I think what other's frustration is) about getting a Monroney for a car that has been already purchased and off the lot for a few years. I bought my '11 used from a dealership who got it in a trade from the original owner. I (and others) would like to like to have a source to get a copy of the original sticker. No reliable source exists as of now (see above posts). What I was proposing was a db of Monroneys in .pdf format that could be searched and downloaded by VIN for vehicles that are a number of years old and perhaps already bought and sold a few times, and whose original hardcopy sticker is lost.

Good for you. Sounds pretty good value for the $$. Hope you were both happy with the deal, that's all that matters.

Yes, but I am proposing that Ford let an end user have access to a .pdf copy of the sticker for particular VIN. For a fee, or course. I would think there would be a viable market for that.

There was a thread about this somewhere else on the board (can't recall where.) But my '11 Limited AWD w/ 301a did not come with the SS windshield. I think there is some kind of "SoundScreen Equipped" logo near the CarLite markings on the glass. Mine does not have it, nor it is listed as an option on the dealer sticker.

Can't be. A few years ago I wanted to get the original sticker of my '98 Explorer. Did some searching and found it fairly quickly. This was at least 15-16 years after I bought the car - I was the original owner. And it was free. I'm thinking that its so many inquiries about VINs and it taking too many resources, ie. $$$, to repurpose all those hardcopy docs into a digital format. But I'd gladly pay a few $$ to get a .pdf of my original sticker. Besides, one would think that these days Ford would already provide .pdf's of all the vehicle docs to a dealer - much more efficient and streamlined business process. Car gets delivered with a cheap USB thumb drive in the dealer delivery packet with all the vehicle docs on it. Dealer (or even FoMoCo) then puts the (already digitized) VINs in a publicly accessible database and charges say, $10 to download a copy of a Monroney for a particular VIN. And all us cargeeks that want a copy of our Monroney would be happy, and they get a previously unharvested revenue stream! Minimal initial setup costs (coupla' servers), an overworked db mgr to administer, digital docs get generated only once, and can be downloaded any number of times for a fee. A regenerative revenue stream after a onetime setup! Man, I gotta' pitch this to Ford!! But surely someone has already thought of this!? (If not, don't tell anybody until I can fire off my proposal to Fields!)

I grounded one LED lead and shoved the other into each pin on the rear of the connector. ...Repeat as necessary. When it lit up I knew I had hot. Took about 10 seconds. ...of course, I had to think about it for 25 minutes before I came up with that solution!!

I run an AFE DryFlo filter so I get increased airflow and no oiled media to foul the intake or MAF. And its cleanable and reusable. I am one of those that agree that a CAI setup is eyecandy mostly and provides marginal performance increases for the $$ spent. Yeah, you're faster than me but I don't care that you go 0-60 in 6.5 I only get there in 7.6. Meh. Your quarter is 15.3s @ 90 mph and I'm at 16.8s. Okay. But if you gotta' have it, go for it. The Edge ain't a hotrod and I ain't here to race. Now where's my cane? Peace out.

Installed an LED glove box light. Used a hood pin switch. Hot to switch and passenger cig lighter, ground to switch, and then a chassis ground. Bright little sucker. It will be nice to finally have one.

Nope, no typo. I've actually tried my vin on other sites and gotten the same thing. Its not a big deal but it would be nice having the original sticker.

Can anyone tell me which wire on the cigarette lighter in the passenger wheel well is the hot wire? There is a blue/red wire and a black/gray wire. I'm think it is the blue/red wire but I am not sure. And lest anyone ask, a friend at work has my tester. Thanks for any feedback! EDIT: Never mind - its blue/red.

I have a copy of my dealer "window sticker" that lists categories like functional, interior, exterior, safety/security, and optional equip but not the actual Monroney Sticker. The mcmahonford.com site returns "the window sticker has not been released for this vehicle." I assume that to mean it has not been scanned or repurposed into a digital format. How can it 'not be released' as it was publicly posted on the vehicle when it was new on the lot? Is there a timeframe for when the sticker becomes digitally available? Whutupwiddat?

Installed the Interior LED Package from drivebright.com. What a difference! I already have the LED puddle lights and the interior kit is awesome. My Edge is Tux Black and the bright blue-ish light from the LEDs is really complementary, not to mention the additional light! I hated the orange-y glow from the filament bulbs. The license plate LEDs are on backorder, and I have also ordered some super bright reverse LEDs from distantxtremes.com - 921 AcmeX 7.5w/800L/SMD2835 15leds per bulb housing.

3.5 for me. A few years ago we had a rented 2.0 for a while and frankly, it felt and sounded a little tinny and rattly (are those words?) When I started looking for an Edge, the 3.5 was all I would consider based on that experience.
