I first started noticing that for some reason BOF began to crash IE11. Does not happen at other sites, only BOFs. I get the "Internet Explorer has stopped working" dialog box and when I close and then try to recover the site I get the same thing. I switched to FireFox and it doesn't crash the site, I simply cannot log in. I created a new account with PW and when I attempt to sign in it just does not accept the sign in and keeps looping me back to the sign in page. I have checked everything that I can at my end and as I mentioned, this only happens at BOV. I am the only one who uses this machine so no permissions or 'parental controls' etc have been set. Just a weird phenomenon. I appreciate anything you can do but again, if I can't get back on BOFs its not that big a deal. The Edge group is the one that I find most interesting, helpful, and fun. Thanks! Duane

Best 2" Receiver Hitch for 2012 Limited
chefduane replied to RJG's topic in Cargo, Hauling, Roof Racks & Towing
Two year old thread - OP prolly already got his hitch installed, but yeah, +1 Hidden Hitch. Had one on my Exploder - well built, unobtrusive, and the electricals were easily installed. -
After many machinations I have determined that Blue Oval simply does not like me. Still the same issues. I guess they will simply have to forge on with out my deeply thoughtful and insightful musings, along with my oft-times boisterous merriment and/or restrained funniments.

Not really a complaint, but an observation...

Frankly, I've always rather liked the sound of a '54 Farmall Super HTA. -

Floppy, I paid $169 for a Duracell AGM at Sams. 860 cca group 65. Also, the $900 sounds about right for the alternator. I had my alternator and serpentine belt both done for about $1000 otd a few weeks ago. That IS expensive but it was dealer serviced. -
What to expect at 200,000+ miles

Man, God bless you guys that live up there in snow and salted roads country. My 2 previous Explorers and now the Edge have all lived in warm temperate climates (Cali and Texas) and never had to deal with any rust or bad corrosion issues. I did front hubs on my 4x Explorer once and they come off easily. Hand sledge and slide hammer - yikes. Aren't those WWF moves? -
hmmm.... naturally dried rolled meat dipped in organically aged and percolated essence of dinosaur detritus. I might have to consider putting that on the menu. Maybe just a pinch of paprika or cayenne to punch it up a bit. Cactus flower buds for presentation accent! NEW CULINARY TREND!! Sample platter $27.95 or in the original jar $14.95 and you can keep the jar! (I think we're on to something here!!)

If more alternators are starting to fail then all the more reason why an *informed* Service Manager would want to stock a couple of alternators. I mean, they DO read their service trend reports right? Mac, probably more views on your alternator replacement videos due to Ford Service Techs watching it, and because its just a darn good informational video. -
Well, again, I could be wrong on that. But if you gewgle 'ford edge front bezel removal' you'll get a number of vids that pop up and all of them show the bezel coming off as 1 piece. I have to fix my Hazard Light switch and prolly will have to do this.

I would think so!

Looks like corrosion to me. Clean the terminals with some baking soda water and a wire brush then use some of the anti-corrosion pads underneath the connector. And smear them with some dielectric terminal grease before re-connecting them. If you travel overseas regularly you might check out a cheap battery tender from Harbor Freight. I've had good luck with them.

Yikes! I would call that completely destroyed and certainly not acceptable for 50k miles. Looks like flaking pot metal. I would think you might have an excellent case for Ford footing the bill for the new PTU.

Make some grumbly noises in the dealership... worked for me! I recently had to have my alternator changed and after diagnosing it for a day the dealership said it would be ready on Tuesday. When my wife dropped me off Tuesday aft they said unfortunately they did not have one in stock and I would have to leave it there until they could get one, again another few days. What!? This is an alternator for the 3.5 Duratec platform used in Edges, Fusions, Flexes, and (I think) some Explorers. This is one of the larger dealerships in the DFW metroplex and you >don't< have an alternator and can't get one for a few days!!! This dealership also has 3 other stores and they can't get another alternator for a few days!? You said it would be ready TODAY! I've purchased two other cars from this dealership!! Repeating that loud enough to get the Service Manager's attention got me a Hyundai Accent gratis for a few days until my Edge was fixed. I'm not one to bitch a lot but this just really kinda' set me off some. You might give it a try if they can't get your Edge back to you for a few days. -
I don't think the knob itself is removable. Removing the two silver strips on each side of the console allows you to then remove the console bezel which is the whole center part that controls a/c and audio. The volume knob is an integral part of the bezel. Trying to remove just the knob might risk damaging the whole bezel. Proceed at your own risk.

I did not have an impact screwdriver when I did my brakes in Feb. Since I was putting on new rotors with the pads, I just drilled the screws out. They really don't serve any purpose so I did not see any reason to preserve them. I think someone mentioned they were used in the manufacturing or factory assembly process.

LOL! Great graphic! Yeah, I have not yet been on to BOV this morn so the prob may have cleared. I don't post as much over there but there is some good info to be had. EDIT: I just checked and still the same issue. I would not want to cause any site disruption just because of me re; site reset. If he does it, great. It most likely would clear my problem, but I can surely wait until he's doing some site maintenance or whatever before he does a site-wide reset.
-
Never seen one of these before. Anybody else ever used one?
-
So I switched to FireFox and now I can't get past the sign in screen. I did a password reset and still it keeps kicking me back to 'sign in'. I'm beginning to think they just don't like me over there anymore. Sent message to the admin. Status pending.

Heh. Touche! I might could try a different browser. Its just started happening over the last few days.
-
Very cool! Birds of a Feather... hope you have many successful hours in the Edge! Actually, there was a discussion some months ago about the Edge having a quasi-workable Hobbs Meter in one of the screens. Never did find it myself.

What have you done to/with your Edge/MKX today?
chefduane replied to WWWPerfA_ZN0W's topic in Accessories & Modifications
I assuming they will as long as the hinge is the same. Send me a PM with your zip code and I'll get an estimate on shipping. -
Anyone experiencing problems over at blueovalforums.com? Every time I try to access the site it crashes my browser (IE 11). Anyone have this same issue or is it just me? Thanks! Chef Duane

BKF is standard equipment in the dish room in most any professional kitchen. Good stuff, our dish guy hoards it.

Good vid. I've used the fishing line trick a few times remove emblems. Best to do this at the end of a warm day so the glue/tape is nice and pliable. Another option is a heat gun, but they can get hot fast so be careful.
