Really leaning towards dans kit since it seems a ton of people here have used them. I have a 2016. A bit concerned with some of the comments of people saying they are getting flashed by other drivers for these lights. Can they be adjusted or are they just shootin light up too high regardless?

Not sure but another possiblilty...are there different update versions for a nav and non-nav system? Could you have possibly installed the incorrect version? I'd double check that and if it happens to be the case I'm guessing if you redid it with the correct nav version it should come back?

For those of you wondering, All your bulb sizes and what the lights do are in your manual. My 16 SEL has 55w lows and a different(can't remember) for high beams. Also lists license plate and I believe dome lights as well

I've had this, but only on new vehicles that I've attributed to engine or exhaust being broken in. But, have you had an oil change recently? If they were sloppy and some oil spilled it could be burning off and your getting that through the vents.

I understand that thought for sure. With the edge I put it on left side driver vent closest to the window. If you put the mount up against the edge of vent you can still open the vent and aim it at you. I do agree if it entirely blocks the vent it's no good. I tend to use my floor vents almost exclusively I don't like air blowing right in my face. But if I do use the dash occasionally I'll shut that one a bit because if A/C is blasting it tends to kill the battery if phone gets that cold. And heat is never good either. The one nice thing with edge dash is it almost wraps around you can literally get the passenger side vent near their door to point in a way where you will get it directly on you as driver. Never had a car that did this The reason I switched from suction mounts to vent magnet is because I ran into a store with phone in mount still, came outside and it had fallen off the windshield bounced on dash and dropped and hit my shifter...shattered my screen. To say I was not impressed would be an understatement. I also don't like things in my view. Even the rear mirror in this vehicle feels like it's obstructing my view sometimes. But I thinks it's a personal preference and each type of mount has its pros and cons!

My wife's escape came with this for free through app called ford pass. She actually has a modem in the trunk cargo area on ATT network. Much more flexibility than the fob start on my '16 edge. But then again this is first time I've had remote start so I won't complain too much!

I'll probably order them next week some time. I'm hoping it works. Would something like this void a warranty?

Serious question. Are you positive your phone is connecting? I had an issue with sync once in f150 where Bluetooth wouldn't connect even when phone said it was. Pulled the fuse for it and it connected again. 911 turned back on

Yup that's the one! I actually had a case that already had a magnetic backing built in, worked great with that too. I got them a few months back when Amazon was offering a coupon for prime members that literally made the cost $0.00. Added it to cart applied coupon total was $0 and free prime shipping too. You do need to have the correct type of vents though. It works on my edge and worked on my f150 except I couldn't close he vent like I can on the edge in the truck. Only thing I occasionally don't like is when u pull the pone off after a few times the magnet will come out the vent still attached to the phone. I just get in the habit of pushing on magnet every time I pull phone off now and it's no big deal

Google X plan pricing it's so widely available in sure you'll find info in it... Large employers usually offer "X" if they have some sort of discounts page for employees, it's basically the friend of a friend discount. A/z is ford employee and retirees respectively D is a dealer is your employer pricing. When you request this pricing they ask for a pin and the invoice will list all three of them out at the bottom. For my edge D plan was literally $100 more than A/Z. I believe "X" was about $1750 more. Doc fee with A/Z is a set fee of $75

Man, I don't know why but headlight retrofits and such is confusing to me. I've painted entire dashes in my younger years. Hooked up more stereos than I can remember, tinted windows, ambient lighting etc etc... Headlights and their jargon always throw me for a loop. I wish there was one answer and that was just the way it's done! I ended up looking and mine say a single number of 55w on them.

If this is true than what is best option for a different color of light? I can't stand the yellow'd output of my headlights. My main goal is usable light at more of a cooler "white" temperature. Similar to the color of HIDs

I guarantee it doesn't have all the packages that he has I was around that truecar price with almost 2500-3000 less in options.

It all depends really as someone else mentioned I guess you can't take z plan as a actual number as ford pays them back a bit for the lower price. If trucar says people are buying at that price it wouldn't hurt trying to get someone to honor that deal. It may also be your vehicle has an extra package like utility or the vista roof. I don't believe you can add those types of options while searching trucar. Which would add about 2k to your price? Either way good luck!

Awesome, after work today I'll look at what I have / check out the video you posted. I appreciate the willingness to help! Much better than some other vehicle forums I'd been on in the past. As far as DRL, I don't have them enabled I'm in the US with my truck I was able to have a tech hook up and enable the, but they were just my turn signals that stayed on. I wouldn't want to enable them on the Edge if it's using my actual headlights. I have the "signature lights" those are always on. Good enough for me. If they light ouput is anywhere near as good as my actual HIDs on truck were I basically never needed my brights. But I understand what you mean about them possibly looking off. My main concerns (which you addressed) were blinding other motorists, ease on install, and ability to maintain a stock look. I'll follow up later today!

Thanks, that's a little more settling. Still trying to learn as much about this vehicle as I can. Unfortunately not as much out there as there was with my f150. But I do love my edge!

Sorry it seems you did answer but I'm still confused I suppose. I've done a ton of mods to cars in past, never messed with lighting besides basic bulb swaps for things like map lighting, dome, license plates. How do these kits work? Are they reliable? Anything not look stock when completed? Am I going to blind people. Tha ks

Thanks for all the info! I may have worded my question incorrectly, I apologize. I meant literally swapping the entire headlight assembly out and putting in a sport headlight. Not just a bulb swap. If that makes a bit more sense?

My '14 f150 had the HID package. For $1500 you got two things the lights and leather. Well worth it and severely missed I am trying to figure out most cost effective option to get new headlights in my new '16 SEL. Once you've had them, going back is brutal. They lit up the road so well and always felt like I could see clearly and along sides of road on back roads.

I agree the wipers are strange. Congrats I got about the same vehicle minus utility, the roof and cold weather(on the way out I got confused, we bought an escape that day too which had the package and I insisted I was missing my mats). They threw a set from another vehicle in my car for free! Oops!

I get z plan. Not sure if this helps but my SEL had MSRP of 38310(may be off a $100 or so) and price listed for my plan which is a little better than invoice as far as I know was 35k

I saw a '16 sport on lot today, it had net, rubber mat, and the cargo shade on. Asked the sales guy and he said it all came with the car.

I wish they were louder on my '16! I can't hear them. My '14 f150 had a different stalk that wasn't mechanical so it gave no feedback and were smooth but I had driver face lights on my side mirrors. Every time I change lanes now I'm looking down to double check if it's on when I try to do a lane change flick on the stalk. I can't hear them and my mirrors have nothing facing me to see!

I got a '16 edge with fob remote start my wife got the '17 escape. Had I not been messing around in her dash menu and saw all the remote start features we would have never known. I looked online and found out about sync connect. This feature is ten times better you don't have to be anywhere near the car to turn it on and can even set a scheduled start for a time of day.... Needless to say I think I'll be getting the garage spot from now on! I'll gladly schedule her starts in the winter and "scrape the car" with my thumb pressing the app in bed! Lol
