  1. What's the point of having wifi to get automatic updates if they're still pushing dealer only ones? *scratches head*
  2. Awesome news, I found a place in Michigan that you can do a swap for money off new wheelS. You buy your OEM rims with a PVD coating on them, they send once you replace your original rims package them back up and send them in they refund you. I may try this out. Haven't gotten as far as seeing pricing
  3. I have wifi setup on mine it just checked for an update two days ago, still on 1.0. Grace notes is on 1.1 though. Thought that's just for media info and album covers though?
  4. That was my concern stemmed from is damage. From what I had read they did stay quite nice for years, which I would have welcomed. I guess I'll have to check, I have no idea where I heard I had chrome clad
  5. The product is great for what it is. Not really sure. They only have a few kits for different vehicles to begin with. I see a ton of Edges every day id say it sells pretty well!
  6. I could have sworn dealer said the 18" are? I just checked a window sticker on their site comparable to the vehicle I purchased and it says "painted aluminum"? I will check my sticker when I have a chance to double check. Maybe I'm starting to hear things!
  7. Well here was Kicker's response... Unfortunately not, we typically make these kits for the most popular and top selling vehicles. We have recently discontinued the mustang kit even. If you need anything else just let us know.
  8. Are there any options for chrome clad? Short of buying new wheels?
  9. I've had a few issues with sync 3 where trying to use Siri causes my phone to not work. Acts like my phone is connected and will ring through speakers but if picked up call will go straight to phone, can't get it onto car system and it won't work again until car has been shut off and turned back on. Has happened twice now, both times while either trying to access Siri or having used Siri two-three times and then it happening.
  10. I'm 6'5" sitting straight in seat I didn't feel as much head room loss as other vehicles with sun roofs I've sat in (front seats). What I did notice the second time I went and sat in one this time with a hat and sunglasses up on the hat is my head was now touching and knocked my glasses off my hat. I've yet to find a vehicle that I would get with a sunroof, the one time being tall pays off! Not tempted for more expensive features
  11. Those look like my rims on my 2016, I was under the impression they are chrome clad? How were u able to PVD coat chrome clad if they are in fact that? Wheels looks great!
  12. I emailed Kicker, basically begging them to make a system for our edges. It was amazingly easy. Simple dash removal and adding their harness in between the existing connection. Running the wire to the back and plugging sub in. The power wire ran to the auxiliary power hookup that the f150 has, but is basically a secondary positive post that's easier to access. There was a dealer who sold them like hot cakes on old forum MSRP was $800-$1000 depending on if you got the speakers as well(which added a separate amp) that mounted underneath dash near dead pedal. He sold the full kit for around $300. Was well worth the money. Bass was controlled through sound options just like a normal speaker system. Please kicker please!
  13. So I had a kicker soundstage in my f150, needless to say I miss it. The sound system isn't the worst I've heard but, it leaves something to be desired. I've never installed a sub on a vehicle while keeping the stock headunit(sync 3 in this case). Besides the kicker which was literally made for that truck and was plug and play with existing wiring. Not really sure what it entails. I'm guessing there is room on passenger side cargo wall as that's where Sony one goes. I'd even go for the Sony one if there was a way to add it(not hopeful). Curious if there's already wiring back there they just don't connect if it's going to be a non Sony system or what? If anyone on here has done any modifications to these new ones while keeping the stock look(not looking for an amp mounted to back seats or a sub box). Let me know! Just looking for some clean low end to add to the sound stage
  14. I know all about fluid film, used it on my f150! Have a can in my garage right now. Anything in particular you paid attention to? The only thing I didn't like about it was on my nerf bars and chrome bumpers it made it look extremely dirty and I had to wait until summer to scrub it off. Not worried about that with hidden metal, but guess I'm not sure what your able to get to easily. You do apply it yearly correct?
  15. Lol, so it's like one of the dye tabs on jeans at the store?? Someone forgot to take it off once and I tried at home, great way to ruin a pair of new jeans!
  16. Just curious what were you undercoating that required headlight removal? Was this a DIY job? What product did you use? Thanks!
  17. I've been driving with the AWD screen up more lately to see when it is kicking in. It is literally on anytime you go from complete stop to moving in a red light situation. not necessarily a bad thing but it is what it is
  18. Yea they are great vehicles, edge is little more fun on back roads than a big truck. Comfort in long trips was amazing though. Look at getting some rear wheel well liners, it wasn't a stock thing for 09-14 not sure about new ones. But saves a ton of junk from getting up underneath the bed area and causing the typical rust you see on f150s down the road. Kicker makes an OEM sub/speaker replacement system that can be found for $200 or so. Great little upgrade, literally plugs into all existing connections and adds an amp for the new door speakers as well.
  19. Lol you did the exact opposite of me! Traded my supercrew v8 for the edge. For me it wasn't so much the gas mileage I'd actually gotten 19 on long highway trip before, but the fact it didn't fit in my garage, and basically had a vehicle we couldn't take anywhere that was small parking lots. I could drive it and park it, the problem is you are so tight to people next to you inevitably they smash your doors. It was a great truck and this is a great edge. Tough to compar anything about them for me as they are two separate classes of vehicles and don't have much in common. There is an f150 forum tons of great info and how-tos that has an extremely active community. Enjoy the truck!
  20. Is that a key for locking lug nuts? I did not get anything that looked like that with my 2016 SEL. Keep us updated I want to know what it is now!
  21. I agree with all of that. Was just tying to provide some input as to what may have caused the issue. I'm not bashing ford. Just saying it could have been a possibility.
  22. I don't think you understood what I was trying to say. It may work properly when installed for the correct sync system. But it should not allow you to even begin the install process of a non nav version of sync if you have nav! That is the issue, that is not working properly. A manufacturer shouldn't be having its customers installing software if there isn't a fail safe in the software than wont allow you to do something that causes you to lose a feature you paid for. this is what I have been trying to convey as the issue. Two versions (which they have) nav and non nav. If you try to put the wrong one on it shouldn't even let you begin the install! Not sure why you think this would be considered working correctly? If you have windows and try to install something for a Mac, does it work? No! It won't install because it was not made for the system you are running.
  23. Picture? Model year? You should have gotten two Fobs, which both have door keys inside. As well as a separate door key that has a black key topper on it.
  24. I'm also in development. I'm not saying that testing catches all bugs. What I'm saying is if something like that is reported as having happened. I'm sure they have reports that kick back based on service codes from the shops. Aka Sync reload due to wrong update. Or an error code is thrown. They would then see there was in fact a bug. And fixed said issue, since it sounds like that hasn't happened that is what leads me to believe it was left out entirely and would take a bit longer to correct. That can happen if the team is silo'd and team leads aren't great it's quite easy for stupid things to be forgotten. Great example at my place. Large insurance company. New document claims management software. poor design and implementation led this certain program to not have a way to handle large files aka accident photos. Guess what happened when they got sent in? It blew up. All I'm saying is it's a possibility. Neither you or I know what really is the cause it's all speculation. Regardless of length of time in industry
