  1. Which mud flaps did you get? I see conflicting information on which mud flaps work with the Elite package. I also have the 2024 Titanium Elite.
  2. I guess Ford reversed their decision not to have printed manuals. Good for them.
  3. My 2016 Edge had the paddle shifters, so downshifting was not an issue. I now have a 2024 Titanium that came without paddle shifters. How does one downshift if going down a hill? Is 'S' mode the only option?
  4. I found that by enabling connectivity for navigation, the speed limit now shows on the navigation screen as well.
  5. I had seen that, but it said it is a reproduction. I read the reviews and see it is an authorized repro, so I ordered it. I can return the Helm 2023 manual, unless someone here can use it. Thanks.
  6. i've got the pdf on my computer at home. Maybe I'll keep it on my phone, too. 256GB storage on my Samsung 24+ does come in handy. As someone who was in charge of publishing a 700 page printed lock catalog for 29 years, I just find flipping to the right page faster and easier to read than having it on the phone. I will have both, and use them as the situation calls for.
  7. I just bought a 2024 Titanium, and wanted a printed owner manual to keep in the glove box. The manual you can bring up on the info screen is all text and abbreviated. At first, Helm showed it out of stock, and said to submit your info to be notified when it is back in stock. I did that. A week later, I checked and they no longer list the English owner manual at all. I wrote to them, and the reply was that Ford no longer wants Helm to stock printed owner manuals. The online and in car manuals are all that will be available. I don't agree. I want a manual in the car, for emergencies I might need it for. I realize I am in the minority who actually reads the book, but it should be available. I ended up ordering the 2023 manual, which should be pretty much the same, I don't think much if anything changed for 2024.
  8. Welcome. I just picked up the same car last week, replacing my 2016 SEL, which I'm passing down to my son. There are a lot of features on the car, be sure to read the owners' manual on line, or buy from Helm, but they are out of stock right now. Enjoy the car.
  9. Got it, thanks. I still prefer it on the navigation screen, but this will do.
  10. Just got a new 2024 Titanium and I'm checking everything out. So far, I am very happy, coming from my 2016 SEL. One difference I am seeing in Navigation is it no longer shows the speed limit in the lower right corner of the screen. This is with the Ford or Google Map. Anyone know if this is something they dropped, or is there a way to turn it on? Thanks.

    Old Guy Stuff

I still have a 4-way in the back. I've never had to use it on the Edge, but it's nice to know it's there.
  12. I have a 2016 SEL and the latest Sync 3 update does have Android and Apple connectivity, by wire. If you want Apple, you will have to change the USB ports, not a major job judging from postings here.
  13. That sucks! If they want a car, there is always some way to get it, too bad it was yours. Good luck with your replacement.
  14. I rented a 2022 Edge Titanium in Texas last week, it had ASS. I will say it was much more subtle and quiet than my wife's CRV. I didn't realize I had it until after a day of driving.
  15. Your are right, sorry for taking the picture from inside the car, I have trouble getting to the top. Is is tempered, not laminated.
  16. I don't know, I looked for markings on the glass but didn't see any.
  17. I just joined the group whose sunroof glass cracked, 2016 Edge SEL. I keep the interior shade closed during the summer to keep the sun from heating the interior. Last week, I opened it and voila, two cracks going from front to back. I took it to a friend who owns a body repair shop, he ordered the OEM glass from a Ford dealer, and it's replaced. The glass coverage on my insurance covered the whole cost.
  18. The 2016 engine makes 245hp and 275lb. torque, while the 2019 has been tweaked to 250 and 280. With the addition of the 8 speed automatic, the combination has recorded better acceleration in all the road tests I have read. I have the 2016, it's ok but from what I have read I wish I had the later version.
  19. I recently had my car in to the dealer for the front brake hose recall. I asked them to aim the headlights, as I felt they were high. I often get oncoming drivers flashing their lights at me. They confirmed the lights were aimed high, but wanted $300 to aim them, 2 hours labor. I was kind of shocked at that figure and told them not to do it. I can lower the lights myself, but I don't have the space to do a proper aiming, per the Ford service manual. Anyone else ever get quoted such a high price to aim headlamps?
  20. You can thank Strattec, the company that designs and manufactures these components for Ford and most other USA companies. Also, give yourself a pat on the back for taking all the proper steps to dry out the prox.
  21. I finally got this recall done today. Appointment was made 3 months ago. I also had the PTU fluid changed. I was prepared for them to tell me I needed a new battery, since mine is original at 5 1/2 years. Strange thing is when I brought the car in, the service writer pushed the ignition button once so he could see the mileage, but left it that way. After about 10 minutes, the car jockey came to take the car away and it was dead. Hell of a way to test the battery. So, I had them replace it.
  22. Only when I need to, on a hill pointing up or down. On my first new car, 1972 Toyota Corona with 4 speed, I used it all the time because of the manual tranny. It eventually stretched the cable. Ever since then, I hesitate to overuse the emergency brake.
  23. Wrong forum. Try one of the technical forums for your questions.
  24. I finally got an appointment to have this recall done - January 4, 2022! If I ever buy another Edge, it will not be from this dealer.
  25. Without getting under the dashboard, I do recall that the cover snaps into place securely. I just don't see the need for the screws. Every year when I change the filter, I debate putting the screws back in, but I always do.
