I have been working this evening on installing a similar system. Granted I have had some beers but nothing like Jillo Anyhow, pulled the trim, removed some of the headliner, ran the wires fairly well imo, being somewhat of a novice. Spliced the hot and ground into the rear light and went to fire up my rig. BLACK screen. Is it possible the green with red stripe wire to the reverse lamp is NOT the hot? Do you recall when you installed yours? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, DJ

Most likely it's there, it's just takes some hunting. It is not what I expected anyhow with the bundle of colored wires. From the rear of the car, it is pointing down from the bumper to the left of the receiver. It is covered with a plastic cap as well. Actually, once you see it, it is kind of slick how they did it.

I had an older generation Pioneer in-dash in my Intrepid (Avic A9 if I remember correctly) and it seemed to work fine in Minneapolis. The stock unit in the edge is just as capable in my opinion. I did learn with the first one, if you were looking for a commonly named road such as '1st Avenue', it was better to work it backwards by entering the city first, then the street, I still do that in the Edge as well. I can't imagine it is only in MPLS, it must be every big city. On a different tangent, my older nav had voice command. It was so poor I used it once or twice just to play with it, or when I couldn't reach my remote while driving. I must say, NOT having voice on the current nav is no big deal at all. In fact, the touch screen without voice is miles better, for me anyhow, than fancy voice and a darned remote to keep track of.

Navagation System Operating Manual
DJ Starr replied to PeteL22151's topic in Audio, Backup, Navigation & SYNC
Living in Minneapolis, page 62 'Avoid Area' feature was programmed today. Unfortunately it may be years before they can rebuild the bridge. Not that I am complaining, thank heaven's my family, friends and co-workers were all seemingly out of harm's way. My usual 18-20 minute commute turned into 45 today........ -
What made you choose your Edge?
DJ Starr replied to Edgy Girl's topic in Competing Crossovers & Vehicles
You are correct, the Edge is the answer to te question that was never asked. I kind of stumbled into mine as well...... Click Here -
We do have A/C but indeed the private bath would be nice, that's about all I would like, but then you have to deal with grey water too.... and they seem to be over twice as expensive.

I just towed my tent-trailer 1,000+ miles over the fourth of July. Averaged 15 miles per gallon and some of the trip was in hilly conditions (I hesitate to say mountains in the Black Hills but....). No complaints on either the camper or the tow vehicle. It is a nice camper if you are looking to enter the field. Sleeps 8 so most definitely much bigger than a closet..... Unloaded wieght? 1,555 LBS Well within the recommended range.

Is there a fuse you could pull or is it integrated with other devices? Hmmmmmm.....

Mine sucks too. It's good if a Hoover sucks or an A/C blows but it's not good if an A/C sucks.........

I saw this on another forum, can't remember where now but seems pretty slick and INEXPENSIVE.... Flash2Pass Anyone try this yet? I may hint for it this Father's day.

The only time it REALLY ticks me off is when I am hooking up my trailer. P.I.T.A. then and I use it a lot in the summer.

Help! Info On Optaining Sticker
DJ Starr replied to wfisherman's topic in Buying, Leasing & Ordering
A gal in my office mentioned to me she was going to trade her Pilot for a Murano. I told her about the Edge and even had her drive mine. She said she loved it and everything seemed to make sense to her. Then her husband sumarily vetoed the Edge without even researching them or seeing one to my knowledge. His answer? 'Ford puts the water pump inside the engine block'. Whether that's true or not, it hardly seems like a reason to not buy a better product for less money........ Sounds like an excuse more than anything to me. Go figure.....long, long, road for Ford. -

Very very nice.... Safe to say it was significantly LESS than the factory option with MORE functionality?

Very sharp color, have not seen that one yet. Welcome MNedge, I live in the cities myself, haven't been to Morris since about 1992 (my sister went to school out there...) The Edge is a lot of fun to drive in our climate, you'll soon find out!
