  1. Hi jonesdz, If you hear the ringing only while the engine is running and it occurs even when the vehicle is not in motion then I'll bet it is the fuel pump. My 08 MKX does the same thing and my dealer told me that Ford is not addressing the issue. If enough people complain maybe Ford will eventually do something about it. When will these companies learn that outstanding service after the sale is vital to keeping customers. Bring your vehicle in and have it diagnosed. Let us know how it turns out.
  2. My original fuel pump was replaced on my MKX at about 6,500 kms (Engine would shut off while driving - but only immediately after the tank was filled with gas). This pump was making a high pitched whine intermittently. The replacement pump is much worse and whines constantly. If you have good hearing you can easily hear it. It is very annoying since it sounds like you have a ringing in your ears. My dealership has confirmed this problem and contacted Ford but they stated that Ford told them that the pump is working as designed and will not do anything about it.
  3. According to an article in Reuters, the MKX seats use the Amerigon Climate Control Seat System which heat/cool the seat cushions and seat backs. This is also used on the MKS, MKZ, and Navigator. Amerigon Article
  4. I have an 08 MKX and after reading this thread I tried my A/C with the glove compartment opened and closed. I cannot detect a difference in air flow but there is a noticeable difference in the sound from the blower. It looks like the cabin air filter is located directly behind the glove compartment which could contribute to the change in sound when opened. I am in southern Ontario and temp is in the low 80's here with moderate humidity. No problem with cooling. I was in Phoenix a few years back and I can see why you definitely need a strong A/C when the temps are in the 100's - ouch!
  5. Hi Grey. Apparently it had something to do with generating "raincheck" paperwork. The dealer said that it would be alot easier if we could obtain a new PIN. The cost of our vehicle decreased slightly as well.
  6. Thanks for the advice bbf2530. I didn't know about the myplan.ford site and will ask my mother-in-law to sign me up. Our salesman stated he did not know about the $75.00 max registration fee for A-Plan and will change the amount if I can show him documentation. I'm in Canada so I hope it's the same as the US. BTW - Happy 4th of July to you all. Anyway, I traded in my Navigator and picked up my MKX today (white chocolate tri-coat with camel interior). We put on a few hundred kilometers driving home from the dealership and it was a great day to get acquainted with it. We are very happy with this vehicle. The MKX cabin is very quiet, engine and tranny felt perfectly matched, SYNC works great, cooled seats work very well (my Gator had them and they were used often). The THX sound system is crystal clear even at high volume and the BAMR is awesome. First day with the new baby was wonderful.
  7. This vehicle is being purchased not leased so I think the $75.00 max would apply. I agree it smells a bit fishy. Hey akirby, I get the A-Plan PIN through my wife's mother so I do not have access to the employee website. Thanks for the info I'll ask her to look it up for me.
  8. I shouldn't have a problem obtaining another PIN today but my dealer's request does sound very unusual. Dealer also is charging a $399.00 admin fee. I posted the admin fee question on blue oval but haven't seen any response yet. Does anyone here know if dealer is only allowed to charge a specific mount for A-plan orders. I thought it should be only $75.00.
  9. I'm picking up my MKX tomorrow (Friday) and my dealer called today and requested that I cancel my A-Plan PIN and obtain a new A-Plan PIN. Their reasoning was that new incentives were just announced for July and if they use my old PIN the dealer has extra paperwork to submit to obtain the June incentives (even though I ordered it in May). They assured me that even though financing rates have increased it would not affect my payment. In all my years of purchasing Ford vehicles I've never been asked to cancel and resubmit an A-Plan PIN. It sounds a bit unusual especially since this is occuring the day before I pick it up. Can anyone provide any comments?
