  1. Yes and rapidly. He didn't touch anything and had no time to react. Since he is a police officer he is writing up a report for me.
  2. Yes, the driver should, as in normal driving control the throttle. The driver states that at the time his foot was removed from the pedal and poised over the brake. Not enough time to apply the brake. The acceleration was noticeable by my wife and daughter as passengers.
  3. My Son-in-Law, a police officer, was trying out the parking assist. I had not used it before. He read and followed the instructions. He is providing a more detailed report in the next day or so but the vehicle started to back up into the space, steered appropriately and then suddenly accelerated into the vehicle to the rear. The warning sensor sounded but only after contact. No real damage as it was a light bump. However it is disturbing to think what would have happened had a pedestrian been between the vehicles. Does this incident need to be recorded somewhere or documented with Ford Safety?
  4. Buying a new car through internet quoting was enlightening. Of seven dealers contacted five responded. There are many up front questions to be answered and I put together a list of what we wanted. Edge Sport, options, purchase, cash, etc. At that point it was like pulling teeth to get quotes except for Allison Brewer at Romeo Ford in Michigan. Our experience with her met my reasonable expectations of how the process should work. One dealership, who could have gotten the sale only wanted to talk on the phone and didn't even quote the vehicle they had on the lot meeting our color preferences. It was like watching two teams where one of them really wants to win and the other just shows up. Good work Allison!! We were ultimately pleased with the experience.
  5. Just purchased 2016 Sport. Global open (well hemispherical anyhow) works. I can think of a few situations where you might want to rethink the decision to open but you have to have the engine running to close the windows once in the vehicle. If you cannot reverse your decision to open using the fob perhaps this particular option is not an answer to a problem.
