I share that feeling. I hope Ford takes note that dealer lots dont have the cars people want to buy. I know its the dealers fault who order cars with the poorest tech package (301A) and spend the money instead on crap like bigger wheels, cold weather package(even in California), tow package etc. Plus all the colors worth looking at are extra cost. Even if it is dealers fault, I am sure Ford looses the bigger dollar. They need to do better data mining on what people configure on their sites via the "build and price" tool. And that data needs to be thrust down the dealers throat till they get it.

Yeah I used the price technique too. Its not perfect but I am happy that Ford atleast has a inventory search tool. I was trying to find similar tool on Honda's site to help a friend but no such thing there.

Thats sad. maybe they used the wrong order priority on your order. Like akriby suggested, try to use the ford website http://www.inventory.ford.com/to locate a matching vehicle yourself. Sometime the dealer themselves dont know what vehicles are about to arrive in their stock. That website lets you search only a 100 mile radius. So repeat your search by entering zipcodes 200 miles from yours to cast a wider net. Ford should really change the system to allow searching the whole state in one go. Also the site doesnt let you set filters on package types 301A, 302A etc.

Have you tried contacting fordservice on twitter ? they have been super helpful and responsive to me.

Did you find anything ? I am also waiting on my order. Scheduled to be built next week but no window sticker yet.

Congratulations on your buy t0lkman. We might be the only 2 with that taste in the bay area given how rare Titanium's are with 302A + drivers package here :-) Did you buy from Capitol Ford ?

Couple of reasons I can guess 1) To make space for more USB ports 2) To reduce clutter 3) To reduce testing efforts for things that are less commonly use 4) Maybe the new HW platform from the vendor just didnt have AUX or SDCARD interface and Ford would have had to pay extra in money and time to get those added 5) Reduce number of choices in the sources menu 6) Reduce cost 7) People who really really really want to use SD card can buy a $1.99 USB based SD card reader from Frys ;-)

Do you mean the 2016 Edge's SYNC 3 has the cellular modem already in it, or that it can be retrofitted with one ?

Thats interesting. Was it an AWD 2.0L though ? I thought only the 2017 Escape had it and that too only in the FWD variant. Sorry about not expanding SW. Its just too common for a software engineer to take it for granted :-)

The one on ebay looks way cooler. Only issue is its on ebay and for some reason I have phobia of shopping on ebay. I hope I can buy and use a ebay gift card for shopping so that I dont have to enter my credit card details.

Does the 2016 Edge (Titanium 2.0L AWD) have the auto start/stop feature ? It doesnt seem to based on whatever info is available on the internet. In that case, does anyone know if it will/may come via a SW update later. Not even sure if it is a entirely mechanical feature or SW controlled.

Putting a metal keychain on the fob breaks away the chrome plating on the key fob revealing the white plastic underneath. Wonder how you guys keep the key fob. Seems to me the best way would be a leather strap to go through the hole in the fob and rest of your metal keys on the other end of that strap. But not able to find anything like that.

Agree with akirby. Things in IT come down to schedule and tough choices on whether to deliver something or nothing. Ford will still be the first to offer Carplay and AndroidAuto in a SUV AFAIK.

MFT has treated me very well too. I think it is still one of the best infotainment in the market when I look at the likes of HondaLink etc. The only issue I have is (and its not unique to MFT), it makes driving dangerous in its effort to make it safe. It forces the driver to do enter the destination details etc. even when a passenger can do it easily. And the driver can only do so using voice commands which ends up being a test of how good you can fake american ascent. Irritating the driver doesnt make for safe driving. With SYNC 3, you will have android auto or apple carplay. That should remove the need for entering directions in the car's system altogether. Since your destination details are almost always in a mail, text, whatsapp etc., you will not need to read it from the phone and to the car.

Might be something to go between the USB port and the iPhone to convince the iPhone that the USB host is a genuine charger else iPhone will refuse to charge. Or something on those lines.
