  1. I feel like columbo here…. 1 last question. The mechanic is stating hub removal basically requires new bearings… I just remember on the windstar it was as simple as rotating the hub to open backing that had room for it to be punched out and inserted.
  2. Thank you for the replies. Im going to look at it myself, Ive done it before, just being lazy but on the other hand dont want to spend $$$ if not needed.
  3. It was cross threaded from a shop that replaced a tire pressure sensor in the spring.
  4. I have a broken wheel stud passenger rear side. I replaced a broken stud a few years back on a windstar and basically punched the stud out and tapped new one back in, 30 minutes. I was getting lazy and asked a garage to do it and they say the 2016 Ford Edge sel requires the hub to replaced as there is no room to replace stud. I highly doubt that and will probably just do the job myself this weekend but can anyone confirm this? Thx ahead.
  5. Thank you very much for the quick replies. I'm going down to talk to the mechanic now. I'm going to try to isolate the noise and post it. Sometimes it really loud (usually when making a uphill left turn, stress from the incline and steering). I hope waiting for a engine code won't aggravate the problem. Its been happening for a month and basically has not got audibly worse. Again, thank you very much,
  6. I have a 2007 Ford Edge SE 180k, front wheel drive 3.5. When turning LEFT from a stop the car will rev/clatter just before it reaches 2nd gear. It does not affect speed or tach jumps. I could burn rubber straight ahead and there would be no sound and the transmission will purr. The car is producing no error codes and runs perfect except for this noise. It will sometimes reproduce this noise when cold going straight but quickly goes away. There are no steering whines. At the Ford Plant they ruled out transmission/1/2 shaft/bearings/ steering etc. In fairness they didn't have the time to put it on hoist to have a true look. Its been at my local trusted mechanic for 3 days and he basically have given up and want to wait for codes instead of guessing. So to sum up the problem: A high reving/valve clattering engine noise as the transmission is switching from 1st to 2nd TURNING LEFT at slow speed. Rarely right and never straight. It really sounds like a engine noise more than tranny. Any ideas guys? Thank you https://clyp.it/40u2k3nt https://clyp.it/bupdm1zl
