037 replied to sac811's topic in 2.7L EcoBoost
I'm running 13s with just a tune, nothing is over heating. -
Official 1/4 mile run - 2015 Sport - LMS Tune | K&N Filter

That's what I run but there is a firm shift update to that...for track use only. -
Official 1/4 mile run - 2015 Sport - LMS Tune | K&N Filter

Livernois has a relationship with Ford, heck they share a dyno. Why not just pus LMS for a harder tune? I think they have a 93 aggressive with firmer shifts, Andy said it should only be used at the track, that might shave a tenth or two...give that a shot, same price! -
Really no need, no competition

I'm gonna go ahead and claim the title until someone else can chime in with their slip. 13.417 @ 101.17 Mods: Livernois tune, KN drop in filter, race 20" wheels.
-
I am curious who has the fastest Edge and what the mods are. I know it's not a popular platform but I am sure the sleeper is out there. My current setup is good for 13.417 @ 101 Mods: tune, drop in filter, race wheels Random: spare and electric tire changing kit in the trunk good for around 100lb Race weight with driver: 4670lb Car: 2015 Sport AWD

Can be like me and spend $2300 on a set of super light weight 20s with summer tires. Now I can run 13.5 in 1/4 with less than optimal conditions
-
Bigger wheels generally add weight so you actually lose performance in braking, turning, accelerating. Assuming the tires are the same, you can get performance tires but the mpg hit will certainly still be there, it won't be huge but probably big enough to measure.
-
2015 comes in 18-21" sizes. As long as the diameter is good the car will work and awd is fine. Example: 265/40/21 is the same as 245/50/20. Same as 245/55/19 and 245/60/18. Make sure the brakes clear which should not be too hard as they aren't very fancy. Bolt pattern is 5x108 as mentioned above.

Bump, still have the tires. New price $700 picked up

2016 Edge - Car and Driver review (car died)

Thanks for taking the time and reading the slips. You will notice second round reaction time of 0.0 seconds, I was gonna beat that thing even if I had to drag those lights with me. -

But...sometimes the car doesn't die and then it's a riot. -

Here is a decent run on the new wheel setup, my personal record, wait for slips at the end. 80f @ 90% humidity. -

You should put this in the for sale area and maybe try to read it before hitting the post button.

Andy is the best :-)

There are 20" wheels available after market that weigh less than the stock 18s, I am getting 24.6mpg highway with loaded car, running a/c and a tune worth 100hp. It's all about the wheel weight and tire of course. My setup is 48lb lb's stock 21s at 72. Also, Continental DW tire makes for a cushy soft ride and grips the road like the best of them, awesome in the rain too. Don't gotta throw money on funny looking at 18s if 20s can do a better job. The cost was $2300 with summer tires, that's the one down side of that.

Btw, there is an option for aggressive tune with harsh shifts, maybe you got that, it's only recommended for race tracks not daily.
-
I never had hard shifts on the Edge with or without the LMS tune until I tried the paddles, which upshift smooth on their own and hard clunk down on deceleration.
-
LMS to the rescue helping you find a loose hose...

What changes would you like to see for the 2018 Edge?
037 replied to Chipster's topic in 2017-2018 Edge & MKX
I believe Sport already has launch control. Disable traction control , step on the brake, step on the gas, release brake. Also, Livernois has a tune out that adds another 100hp for when you get bored. Hope that helps. -
Both dynoed at LMS for the above comparison.
