Awesome zazzy! Ty I haven't had a chance to research it's function but like I said I didn't even notice anything different as far as function of shifter
-
I figured it was part of the shifter... It was in between the panel and shifter assembly on the floor. Ty for the answer! Much appreciated. I didn't feel anything different about how the shifter operated but noticed the piece there one day. Thnx again:-)

I'm over it. Just want people to think about how they get their point across. If I'm wrong I'll admit it. But if you try and make me feel stupid with smartass remarks and lame jokes I'm gonna fight back. It's human nature to be wrong, how you present your point determines if people grow and learn or if they become unwilling to ask . Do you think I am the first person in this forum to post an incorrect statement? And out of all of them how many were made to feel less than and never posted again? We are all here to trade knowledge not egos . Anyway I apologized to the ones I needed too and I'm passed it . -
you dont need primer on the plastic grille ..scuff with a 600 scoth pad...make sure you get everything scuffedin the corners ,everywhere.also i highly recommend removing the grille completely. after scuffing wash with soapy water(use dawn it has surfactents) it means it cuts grease basically. then i would clean with a good quality microfiber towel and fill a spray bottle with isopropal alchohol and mist and wipe clean. let set till completely dry then tack cloth to ensure no dust or foreign objects. get a good adhesion promotor..pretty inexpensive and put 1even coat on (make sure you cover all parts in the corners too. let stand maybe 5 min and while still tacky even a little wet spray your color. i actually had my auto paint supplier mix a rattle can.just give them your paint code from the door decal and they can mix.it is a good match..just dont recommend spraying your body panels with it..3 or 4 good coats of color then also at the paint supplier they have a clear that will also come in a rattle can but it actually has a catalys that when ready you insert the cap onto the bottom of the can and hit it in the ground .this releases your catalys(hardener) into the clear and you have a 24 hr pot life..i was actually very happy with the clear.have never used it but i have sparayed a few cars and this was very clean coming out and it was the perfect mix as far as setting once it hits the surface..no issues with runs and the orange peel was minimal for using a rattle can. i did color sand and polished by hand also...looks good and the color match is impressive considering its out of a can. and its metal flake which is very hard to match as you dont get consistant flake,

2010 sport black out grille/wheels

it looks really good!! unfortunately in my experience you will be peeling it in a couple weeks and redipping... i am def not opposed to plastidip i think it is awesome..especially if you ever want to go back to chrome. i used it to paint my chrome clad wheels to see if i liked the black or if i wanted to go chrome.. again you did a nice looking job! how long did you spend taping off the front end? i guess it was a little more labor intensive for me, you were shooting all black onto the whole area so you just taped the lights and put some backing in front of radiator? i had to tape off the black backing behind the chrome grill as i wanted it to remain black..then i had a little piece lift after i was finished the first time..so rather than go through the taping ordeal again ..i disassembled the whole front bumper cover and actually removed the grill..and boy it was a blast!!! and by blast i mean a flippin nightmare..but it was a hands on learning exp and if i ever have to take it off again..it wont take half the time... -

Paint it... I painted mine to match factory color. Plast dip is also a good idea just to see if you like it. Then peel it off and make it permanent as it is a pain to paint it over and over again. I pulled my bumper cover off and actually disassembled the grill from support. Let me know if you need any tips I'm happy to help. color -
I have water/moisture in my vista roof .. Lol. Can I get a recall???
-
lol...oh ive seen a couple earl scheib jobs that look like they were painted in the back yard during a dust storm...id rather have orange peel than foreign objects in the actual color. lol you should see the color run on the inside edge of the passenger rear door...they had to have seen it ..if they didnt the paint inspection guy must have been drinking

just a couple pics for someone that wanted to see this..not perfect but i dont have enough clear to start cutting all aggressively. i just wanted to remove a few surface scratches and try and cut down that factory orange peel as much as possible....i did hit a couple spots with 2000 before i cut...it looks ok..

i seriously doubt you ever wash your car waldo..that would require movement away from the computer....its all in the delivery. present your point (evn if you know the other person may be wrong or maybe not seing the bigger picture) in a way that people will respond with a posotive learning experience.. of course if you respond to me with a comment that comes out making me sound like a dumbass then absolutely im going to react in a way to protect myself..luckily we are only typing on a computer and my frustration can only be sent through words on a screen. but my point is..if you look at someone that maybe doesnt know as much as you about a certain subject, try bringing up with a bit of humility rather than your little group of funny jokes that may make any other person leave with a feeling of negativity...after all,why are you on this forum? is it to boost your ego and belittle the less knowledgable? or is it to share your knowledge (whatever it may be) in a way that helps someone to learn and not be afraid to ask a question that they feel is stupid but in turn they leave feeling great because you didnt make them feel like an idiot.... and then continue still with a bunch of sarcastic comments again that do nothing more than boost your ego..think about it..why else would you post a comment "i washed my car last week and my gas milage got better" other than to basically say hey look at me guys i said something funny about another persons incorrect statement.. since i have been in this forum i honestly found one person that literally brings no ego to the table and i have literally gained so much information and knowledge about a car..a stupid ass car. but more impoortantly i see the way he talks to people and how they respond after he gives them another way of looking at something or the correct information without the stupid little remarks. i know i just typed all of this for nothing, and you are sitting there saying "wow this guy is an idiot" but honestly i dont care what you think about me..i was incorrect in my statement about the gas mileage. i dont have a problem admitting when im wrong..i can walk away from this silly little thread with once again more knowledge than i had before..what did you guys get out of it? more ego? i think ill take the first one and move on . -

man i can go online and find data supporting my side all day too and the k&N statement can be usewd both ways.of course they are not going to claim a gain in mpg!!! ..all i know is the factory mpg for my vehicle was around 20 combined...the last reading for my fuel economy was 18.2 and for one week after replacing air filter and realligning intake tube and adding material to snug connection...THIS IS ALL I DID !! my fuel economy in my vehichjle on the display now is at 21. so thats fine you want to say its wrong and there is no way..well waldo does your factory fuel economy stay the same throughout its whole life? you talk about why wouldnt ford do it?they spend so much money on research and how everything theyt do from the factory is the absolute best it can be or Ford would have made iot better??? what about that POS vista roof or one of the so many many other things that are NOT as good as they could be? my factory mpg combined is 20mpg so i gained 1 mpg hows that? akirby i did wash my car and change the lighting color on my gauge cluster...maybe thats what it was? i guess it goes back to your placebo mod..if i believe it it makes it all better. and again. lets just say my fuel economy is BETTER after installing a K&N air filter and leave it at that. -

my edge is now 6 yrs old,it has 48,000 miles i purchased it almost two years ago,it had 1 owner before me and low milage.the air filter was original and didnt look in bad condition.i do all work to my edge myself, the only time someone else will work on it is when a diagnostic tool is needed that makes absolutely no sense for me to purchase. i looked at the "cold air intake" I researched its function and how it fit in the engine compartment...my conclusion was that for the money and what i read and viewed i dont believe that there is a good seal between the box and the engine compartment...does it look cool? yea. but it is strictly my opinion that it doesnt achieve the function of a true "cold air intake system" which i believe if there was a true sealed compartment only drawing air from outside and air from the front of the vehicle that would honestly be a true cold air intake system. but to state that i am out of this world crazy because my data that is displayed from the computer in my car says that from the time before i installed the k&N my in city mpg was 18.2 and ill add that this number wa consistent for about two weeks since i reset data.and after installing just the air filter and re alligning the intake tube and making it fit more snug to its counterpart my mpg after one week is now at 21.i drive my edge approx 45-65 miles a week as i have a company vehicle for work. my edge is driven the same route each day approx5 miles round trip to the gym and back 6 nights a week and to the grocery store and maybe a restaurant near me..so it just pisses me off thaqt someone straight out call me a liar when they obviously have zero information or knowledge about what they are talking about..especially from someone who admitted they lacked research knowledge in a mod purchase for thier own vehicle.so in conclusion...i dont find it hard to believe AT ALL that i gained this amount of fuel economyas i have seen others with the same gains and i do remember the device ..i believe it was called the cyclone or something? it s purpose was to help atomize the air fuel mixture making it more efficient to burn as energy thus using less fuel to accomplish the same task as before it was installed -
Performance Mods That Actually Work?
fit1446 replied to jaymz's topic in Accessories & Modifications
The effect a performance air intake system has on vehicleās fuel economy depends largely on the driver of the vehicle. An improvement in fuel economy is very likely if the vehicle is driven in the same manner as before the air intake system was installed. Why this happens and the possible adverse effect of a performance air intake system are both discussed in this guide. The purpose of a vehicleās air intake system is explained, as is why modifying the stock air intake system with a high-performance aftermarket system makes a difference. A list of popular performance air intake suppliers is provided to help consumers become familiar with the various products on the market. Improved EfficiencyAll of the benefits of improved engine performance also relate to improved efficiency of the engine as well. The more complete burn means it does not require as much fuel to produce the same amount of horsepower. Less wasted fuel means more of the fuel is burned for the purpose of creating combustion, again saving on fuel usage. Engine computer controls are sensitive and sophisticated enough to recognize the changes provided by a performance air intake system; the computer dials down injector spray and adjusts consumption demand. When the driver continues to drive the vehicle in the same manner as before the performance enhancement occurred, the driver is likely to see an increase in their fuel economy. ok im done now mr "moderator" so before you go calling bullshit on someone maybe you should do some research..and not the kind of research you did before buying that hot air intake.......im sure your good and butt hurt by now so you can go ahead and block me now. you probably couldnt keep up with all the usefull things i post anyway -

Here a write up on changing the display color for your gauge cluster. this particular one was done on 2010 limited. before we start you can literally choose any color you like..if you want green, great job.....you are done! 1 take a picture of your gauges with ignition off. take each seperate if neccessary to get a close up of exactly where needle position is. not always right at zero.and i dont know about you but that plus or minus 3-4 could make a difference on the speedometer in particular. 2 remove steering column opening trim panel. 2 10mm bolts and it pulls out .4 retainer clips 3 remove instrument cluster finish panel. 2 screws at the base. make sure to lower your tilt to the full down position. seperate the column trim by pressing in on the sides of the top piece and lifting upward.disconnect one harness plug for rear hatch and remove. 4 remove instrument cluster.4 7mm bolts and 1 harness plug and remove 5 remove plastic lens from gauge cluster. 1 phillips screw in the back and carefully seperate the tabs. yes i broke one, luckily it was repairable. ok here is the fun part, just be patient. 6 there are several tools i have seen used to remove the dials from the gauge cluster..two spoons, one on each side and pry them off...another used a fork although his was a picture and i didnt actually see it happen....i wasnt in the kitchen when i did this so i chose to use a hook pick.carefully use whatever tool will allow you to just get under the edge of the dial and pry it up. these are not quite as flimsy as i thought but yes they will break. 7 once all 4 dials have been removed there are 4 round retaining clips at each gauge..again i used a small pick to pry these out. 8 remove the plastic trim and if you are going to finish this project before driving your car, great set the gauge assembly in a safe place away from your work area.if you plan on going somewhere you will need to temp install this unit back in your edge..just reconnect the harness plug and the 4 screws. it wont start without this unit in the car and connected..this is essentially where your car communicates all together. 9 you will need to sand away the parts of the trim where it shows green when light is behind it..i used wet sand both 600 amd also 1000 grit..just take your time once again and you must get ALL the green off.i left the red as i wanted the max and high levels to be different...u can also make these any color you choose..double check and triple check to ensure that all of the green is gone.. i also used a very sharp razor blade or an exacto would work also to cut out the green display screen in front of the info center..then i cleaned edges with a dremil. if you are unsure of your skills with a dremil..dont use it! it is very easy to take away to much material.. 10 tape off the parts of the trim u want to keep clear or red or i believe there are a few that are yellow leds on the actual board of gauge cluster..if you want to change the color of the yellow you will need to change the actual leds on the board..if you dont think u can or question your ability at all to do this..DONT DO IT! it will require a steady hand and a good soldering iron with the right tip and the correct heat level.. 11 so now you need to pick your color..or colors...if green is your choice and you have completed steps up to this point..well then you are an idiot and probably need help tying your shoes in the morning..ok ok im jk... there are two options you can use to get your color..i used both.. first u can get lighting gels which are used for stage lighting and come in a variety pack. i purchased 1 pack of like 15 different colors. they are 10x10 sheets and i got this pack at guitar center or u can order online..also you can use testers transparent spray enamel..they have at hobby store but limited in colors but the basics are certainly there..i tried using just the gels at first but any type of adhesive i used would remove the gel color and it looked like crap..but the color from gels in my opinion is much deeper and better than the testers enamel..note :the gels can be secured with hot glue but in the case of the gauges you will notice you are limited on space and if the glue oozes out the front its going to look like crap...so my solution was to spray two coats of the testers enamel and on the third coat literally while paint was still wet i layed the gels i had cut to fit right into the wet enamelit actually worked quite well and the two different sources together gave me a nice shade of blue...let it dry completely and peal your masking tape. the display you cut out in front of the information screen i just cut an oversized gel and hot glued it behind the trim..u have plenty of room to use hot glue here. basically you are ready to reassemble...just make sure all your color edges are good..a couple color changes from blue to red are extremely close so i did trim a bit with a very sharp blade.. just reverse your removal process and make sure to set your gauge needles exacty where they were ..refer to your pictures . hope this helps someone..its really not that difficult..and i spent i think about 30 bucks on whole project..

i ordered them online...i had purchased new tires about a wekk before i ordered wheels.i bought rubber from discount tire...well because they have the best deals. i installed my lowering springs and thought so hard about putting 22" whells on. i just wanted to take up 2 more inches in the fender gap. i had discount order the wheels because they can pretty much order anything you want, and they were going to give me full credit for the now two week old tires and i was going to order the 22"s and new tires.but have you ever priced 22" tires??? holy ST... i think i paid 145 a piece for these tires and they are middle of the road..60,000 mile tires and for 22" tires...the cheapest ones were like 260 each... so if iwould have switched it would have been another 1700 out of pocket after the credit for the tires..so i just stayed with the 20's. they look great but just want 1 1/2" more drop....but i think those wheels were 850 for the set.not really that expensive but again not cheap. you have the sport wheels still on yours?

Ask nick halstead when he gets back from training too. He did similar to what red bow did. Only his is trained in red. You can look at his page I think he has a few pics of finished interior. https://scontent-lax3-1.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-xft1/v/t1.0-9/10273964_10206925347065575_2699573500343580386_n.jpg?oh=0e76cd4fa41480f8bb30be300bd247b9&oe=5720EFEB -
