  1. you are absolutely correct i ordered a piece of metal mesh it should arrive today. have to do with the other side too so they at least look the same.
  2. I still need to insulate the air box. I believe I will have much cooler intake air temp after sealing the box from the motor, as well as insulating. Just need to be mindful if it rains that my intake air is much lower than normal. But after considering that it rains maybe 10 -20 days out of the year where I live in ok with the location. I personally believe this will make a difference.
  3. Or as silly as it sounds , the mad can be installed backwards. Flow going the wrong direction.
  4. i have one installed in my 10 but i sealed the box from the engine and i actually use my fog light bezel to feed air to the box.but even before i did that it never threw an ecm code
  5. i am another who had the same issue...slow moving and eventually stop during close.cleaned and lubricated the rails...works good now,the dealership even gave me a can of the dry silicone lube that they use..for free

  8. Hold on tight to that one! Never let it go
  9. Ok here is the place for opinions... Sprint booster. Let's hear em....
  10. I did not have Sony I had the audiophile system. Two tweeters in front pillars 2 6x8 in front doors and 2 6x8 in rear doors with an 8" sub behind passenger rear quarter trim with amp secured to the back of enclosure. There is also another component which is the control box for sync and I believe it controlled the factory sound processor as it had the input leads from the head unit and the output leads for the door speakers. The sub woofer leads are a single channel signal from head unit into factory amp which converts the signal to two channels that each go to the dual voice coil factory 8" sub. It sounded ok but the door speakers are paper crap and the driver is also pretty worthless. It is all gone now. I built my own audio system and replaced everything. I think the Sony system was completely different components and also added a few (I think 3 more) speakers. But again .. They are all factory components and are not built to give sound like a quality component is. As far as the enclosure... I know at some point they moved the sub to the driver side.. I'm not sure which year but I think it was '13 I could be wrong though. But if you are just wanting decent sound and if your edge has the spot for the enclosure I have... You don't really have any options other than stealth box from Jl audio which is 700 or so... Or can build your own enclosure as I did or can purchase a factory enclosure from ford or purchase the one I have which already holds a 10" driver.
  11. It is very simple. The most difficult time you will have is removing the old exhaust mounting pins from the rubber hangers. Just use a little wd40 and I pried them off with a pry bar. Not very difficult. Have fun
  12. Totally understand that sir:-). Well if you do decide you want to install a factory enclosure w a 10" I have the driver and enclosure sitting here doing nothing
  13. do you have photos of the speakers in your edge? im curious as to what comes factory.or if someone with a new edge could inform me? thnx
  14. The issue beyond the cheap speakers is actually the head unit. It really doesn't matter if Sony or whoever puts their name on it... A factory built audio system is always going to protect the speaker. Meaning as you turn the volume up it is programmed to turn bass down. It ultimately will be your 1 constant tuning component that holds you back. Speaker swap is a must but I after changing speakers adding amps changing amps and adding a lc7i came finally to the conclusion that the factory head unit was not allowing me to get the tuning capabilities I wanted. But if many of your controls i.e. Climate control and others. There may not be an option as of yet. My head unit will do climate control vehicle info and a few others that I don't even have in my 10. Just have to see what your options are. But you kind of have to accept at some point that it's a factory system and it will never sound like you want it too.
  15. thats because they will all fit..crutch will supply you with the plate that will accomidate whatever speaker you choose to install..if its on the pagen under your year model..it will fit
  16. not only did my 10 have the amp mounted to the back of the enclosure it also has a DSP which is a seperate box located right next to the factory enclosure..if your set up is the same as mine i have the amp ,factory enclosure and the DSP. but honestly think you are setting the bar a bit low considering you have a blank canvas and your kind of looking to color on it with crayons when you could just get some paint and makje a piece of art...lol you like my artist analogy?? if your up to it i have a write up on a custom fiberglass enclosure i built in the location where the factory sub was. or you can always go buy a stealth box for 9000 dollars? jk they are 750 or something like that..still ridiculous.u can build one for about 200 bucks and a little patience.
  17. really just depends on how much you want to do...i didnt have the sony system in my 10 limited but i did have the audiophile system..4 doors 2 tweeters sub and amp...it is now all gone and nothing is factory..i do have a factory sub enclosure but it wont fit in your edge.i believe they switched locations in 13..i personally would not have them put in anything and build your own
  18. Nick doesn't your '15 have factory hid projectors? Is that a sport option? Or maybe I am wrong, but I swore u had hid projectors
