Ford made Sync2 v3.10 available for download but when you download it and try to install it says it requires a dealer to install, on the Sync screen. I've contacted Ford IVT (In-Vehicle Technology) about this and they responded that they would get back to me but its been 2 weeks and no answer. Their response 2 weeks ago was: "This is being reviewed for you. Someone will reach out to you as soon as possible. However, it may be a good idea to have this installed at the Ford service center."

USB problem with 2014 Taurus on Sync2 MFT. I changed the "Removal Policy" on my USB's which would allow me to download songs to them quicker, which worked fine. When I tried them out in the 2014 Taurus which is Sync2 MFT they created an error which restarted Sync and would not work. I had to reset the "Removal Policy" from "Better Performance" to the "Quick Removal" setting and re-format the USB's to get them to work again. edited: Even with the "Removal Policy" set to "Quick Removal" I have to eject the USB from my computer (not just pull it out) otherwise it hangs up on my Sync2 MFT and also hangs up on my other vehicle with Sync3.

So "TheWizard" your happy with functions in your vehicle disappearing, I'm not. Just how would you feel if that as soon as your vehicle warranty ran out that the manufacturers stopped your engine from running, after all that in today's vehicles could be just a piece of software that they no longer support. That would help them sell more vehicles. I have complained to Ford in Dearborn, Michigan about the address-destination removal, if no one complains the big corporations will just take more advantage of the customers. I also have read the legal disclaimers about change without notice, etc., that still doesn't make it alright to just delete things, just legal. I believe that the removal of the address-destinations and also the non implementation of app-link in Sync2 MFT fall under the false advertising since both were in Ford ads back when the vehicles were being sold but are no longer in the vehicles or in the case of app-link never were put in the vehicle as advertised. But that's what we seem to have to live with now since these companies are so big that they can do almost what they want. Have a nice day. edgemaster - I checked and I no longer have the owners manual PDF for the 2009 Mercury that I use to have, but if you look up the manual for your 2009 Edge there should be a section that tells how to turn off the Automatic Vehicle Health Report.

Go under settings and there is a selection to have it not run a Vehicle Health Report. Ford removed the server so that it can't be run anymore. It nice that a company can get away with removing functions from vehicles without having to give the customers back any money for the less service. One other service that I used a lot was the ability to select an address from my downloaded phone contacts and have it navigate to that address. Ford removed that in v3.7 software update without telling anybody in the update notes.

enigma-2, The screen your describing is the Home screen that can be accessed by pressing the "Blue House" on the Top Left of the display. This will also be the screen that Sync3 goes to upon a forced restart by pressing the "Seek+Power" buttons together for a few seconds. Once you select a different display like the "Audio" or "Climate" then it should start back up in that display screen upon a restart of the vehicle. At least that's how my 2017 Edge works and I'm on software revision V3.0 which is the latest. Old Ray, you might want to talk to the dealer to see if they may have a setting with Forscan that can change it from the last screen recall to a forced navigation recall.

The Sync3 that's in your 2018 sport should restart on the last menu screen that it was on when the vehicle was shut off. If your plugging in your phone before starting the vehicle then Apple Carplay or Android Auto maybe starting up in one of the phones maps. If that's the case and you don't won't Apple CarPlay or Android Auto then you can disable then in the Sync3 settings.

baseball - You have Sync2 system in your 2015 sport, we have been talking about navigation update for Sync3 systems. The A9 SD card is selling on eBay for around $60 now. I was at my Ford dealer Tuesday and they said that the Ford site to get the navigation update is down and has been down for several weeks.

I get Waze and Google Maps to work on Carplay and they look good. Problem is that when I reconnect the iPhone 7 after stopping and restarting the vehicle then Carplay doesn't start backup. The iPhone battery indicator goes from green to white then the phone vibrates and the battery indicator goes back to green. This keeps repeating but Carplay never starts. I tried rebooting the Sync3 system and reloading Carplay on the iPhone and vehicle, but same thing happens. I using the original iPhone USB cable. Anyone else having this problem or found a fix? This problem was fixed by doing a "Master Reset" on the Sync3 system and reconnecting the iPhone to bluetooth and Carplay.

Waze and Google Maps are now on Apple Carplay with IOS12 and latest versions of Waze & Google Maps. When running Waze on AppLink the iPhone gets really hot since it leaves the display on, with Carplay it only gets a little warm since the display is not on.

Sync2 MFT use to have it built-in like Sync3 using your contacts as I stated above, but since it had a problem with not working if anything was in the contact's country space Ford deleted it completely in a newer revision of the software rather than fix it. That's why we can't expect much out of Ford since their software people couldn't fix that simply problem. So they removed the feature.

Quila & 1004ron, My update XML file didn't work on the SyncMyRide site either, only way for me to register that I did the update was to have the Vehicle connect to WIFI and then after a day or so it showed up on the site that it was completed. This same problem occurred on the last update.

I have a 2017 Ford Edge Titanium with Navigation that was updated to V3.0 in May 2018. Today when I checked the Ford owner site there was a new version of V3.0 for download. The one in may was JR3T-14G381-AM 3.0.13 this one is now 3.0.14. I downloaded it to USB and installed it in my Edge, it took only about 15 minutes to install. I don't know what it fixed or changed, nothing obvious but everything seems to work OK. Ford should get better at telling what revisions change or update. The general information in the Edge now shows it at 18093. I hope that they fixed the USB so that it doesn't re-index about every 3rd time that I restart the vehicle. Time will tell.

If your phone is connected by bluetooth and you allow it to download the address book, then you select phone on the Sync3 display and you can then look up a contact and set a destination to it's address. Added: When you get to the contact that you want then press on the address for that contact and it should then allow you to set it as a destination.

Anyone know if NA 1 17 Navigation map upgrade is released yet?

When using Waze on Sync3 the iPhone gets quite warm does the same thing happen with Android phones when using Waze on AA?

When enigma-2 said the same thing in post #9 and akirby said nothing (which was correct) and then when I post he seems to jump all over me, then I believe that it is a dig on me. If it bothers him so much that business charge a higher price then reduce it to match he should have said something when enigma-2 posted. but actually he should have said nothing at all to either of us. We were just posting to let people know what happen to us on this topic. TheWizard - about thicker skin, if someone single's you out verse another person I bet you would have said something back. It would be great if all company only charged a fair price for their product but that's not the world we live in. I'm done with this topic since I have my warranty and stated what occurred in getting it.

Akirby I believe you should not be a "Moderator" since you seem to be provoking a word fight with me. Enigma-2 on post #9 said the same thing about getting a dealer to reduce their price by showing them another's price and you said nothing. A moderator should make sure that people don't post obscene or none related posts on these sites. They should also help people when they can. They should not be jumping on people because of the moderator's own personal opinions. I stated that I didn't like it either but that I got the warranty paper work right there and didn't have to worry whether Anderson & Koch would send it to me. since you told me your story which shouldn't be brought up on this site I'll tell part of mine. I look up a lot of things on the internet for pricing but if possible go to the actual stores to purchase them. I like to actually see and touch the items I want to buy. I also believe that it helps keep people employed at the stores. None of your ranting and opinions belongs in this forum especially since you are listed as a moderator, this post of mine should not be here either since it doesn't really help anyone out with their warranty questions. My original post just pointed out that I got a matching price at my dealer and if other people were hesitant to order on-line that it might work for them to get a better price at their dealer.

I don't like it but by getting it there I know that I walked out with the paper work and didn't have to wonder if the Anderson & Koch would send it. When you go to buy your vehicle do you not buy it if the dealer says he will reduce the price of a say $40k vehicle by $6k? It's the same thing with almost anything you buy, you have to talk the seller down in price even though you know they should just give you their best price.

I went to my dealer here in SC (Fort Mill Ford, SC) yesterday to find out what they would charge for the Ford ESP PremiumCARE for 6 years 75k miles extended warranty. They came back with a price of around $2200. I showed them the $1310 price on-line that Anderson & Koch wanted. The person went away and then came back and said that they would match the $1310 price. So I purchased it there.

Interesting thing on the off-center display. Yesterday I was driving with WAZE running for directions and it had the off-center display with the large black rectangle directions on the left side about centered. I pulled into a gas station and turned off the vehicle without disconnecting or changing the iPhone connection. When I restarted the vehicle WAZE started back up and resume its directions but the display was now centered and the black rectangle directions as smaller in height and at the top of the map display. The directions were readable and the display was exactly the way I would want it. The next time I turned off the vehicle and restarted the display was again off-centered but the black rectangle was still smaller in height but now it was down a little from the top of the map display. It seems that either Ford or WAZE have a few different display selections which would be fine if we could select the one we want and keep it that way. Anyone else experience this?

Tried Waze last night on a drive home and it worked ok. I noticed that the display showing were your vehicle is located is shifted off center to the right. I thought this was because of transfering to the Ford screen but then when I got home and disconnected my phone I found out that Waze in landscape mode on the phone is off centered, hope Waze fixes this. See "Almun" third picture in above post, it shows the off center display.

I went back out to the Edge and tried updating mobile apps again and then connected my iPhone 7 and starte Waze and it worked. I tried several disconnects and reconnects and it still worked. I then shut off the car and went into the house and programmed several favorites addresses into Waze then went back out and restarted the car and connected the iPhone and Waze worked ok. Seems like it takes a few tries or a restarts of vehicle for the updating of mobile apps to work? Also found out that if my phone is connected to bluetooth and I connect my wife's by USB Waze will work from her phone. The thing is that while using Waze that's connected to her phone and inputting a destination on the car display there is a clicking sound for each input. If I switch her phone to bluetooth connection and use Waze by the USB then there is no clicking sound. I hope in future revision to either Ford or Waze that the buttons on the bottom of the car display when using Waze would scroll down like when using the Ford navigation, this allows the map display to be bigger.

Not working on my 2017 Ford Edge with Navigation, Sync3 revision v3.0 with latest version of Waze 4.37 using iPhone 7 on IOS 11.3. SEE MY NEW POST BELOW, it's working.

Using Sync2 MFT does anyone know if the A8 sd card map update shows the completed i485 loop that goes around Charlotte, NC. I have the A7 card and it does not show the completion.

I just updated Waze this morning and tried it on my 2017 Ford Edge Titanium running Sync3 v3.0 (with Navigation) and it did not show up in the AppLink. iPhone 7 connected to USB and Waze running on phone. iHeartRadio now works without the need of the iHeart for Auto. April 17 addition: I tried again to get Waze to work and succeed. I had to have Sync update mobile apps serval times and then reconnect the phone by USB and it then worked. I then turned off the car and left it to go into the house and add favorites to Waze, when I returned and tried it again it worked fine.
