I run the 93 aggressive tune 24/7. Love that tune. -C -

I'm running on the 21s. Funny story...Anthony was telling me about all of your kills at the track I just got the aggressive tune downloaded and will be trying it out later tonight. Wish I would of updated my tuner before I went to the track so I could have tested that one out too. Livernois will be doing another track rental in the fall. I plan on taking the car back with more tuning work done for more results. -CMY -

One interesting data point...I raced a '15 Explorer Sport that had Just a tune and the cars ran nearly identical times. He beat me every time by .01 seconds, however, I chopped him down on the tree and took the win. The guy was so bad on the tree that the final race, not shown in the time slip pics, I gave him the leave so I could see how even the cars really were. The Edge jumped out by 1/2 a car in first, cars were evening out in 2nd, in 3rd the Explorer gained and nosed me out. Both cars shifted into 4th right before the finish line. I have attached the time slips for reference. -CMY -

Went to the Livernois Customer Track day last night and did some testing. The air was horible so my times are pretty far off of my best. But I did do some same day testing/comparison of the 93 tune, 87 tune, and stock. I made 4 back-to-back hot lap passes with each level of tune with a 15min cool down in-between the different tunes. I pulled the best time slip from each round and posted it below. The big difference I noticed between the 93 tune and the 87 was the out of the hole experience. More boost helped with the 60ft and 330 ft and is truly what netted the gain in ET compared to the 87 tune. The car screams in 1st and 2nd but lays over in 3rd. I let Livernois know my thoughts and they plan on spending some more time on the tune to try and resolve this issue with power. One thing that Livernois did say is that the IATs are pretty hot by the time you get into 3rd gear and the intercooler on these cars are pretty weak. The stock tune...well...is a fricken waste of time. After the 1st pass stock I want to just give up and go back to my 93 tune, but wanted to ensure I had solid results. Where the car falls down on the stock tune is...well...everywhere You can't break tq and get a good launch and the shifts are so lazy you might as well get out and push the car. I made a total of 16 passes and the car ran 97mph with the 93 tune every time, 96-97mph with the 87 tune every time, and 94mph with the stock tune every time. ETs were within .02 of each other as well at every tune level. -

I'll be going back to the track in a few weeks and will try and lower these numbers -
At the track on the last day before they shut down for the year in MI with no prep the sweet spot for me was 2200rpm. Anything more and the car would spin and short shift or it would wheel hop like crazy. On the street its a little more forgiving and 2500rpm works well. Anything more just spins the tires. I think the highest I was able to break tq was nearly 4000rpm but the car made some strange noises so I have not gone any higher than 2500-3000rpm since.

I agree 3rd gear feels like a turd compared to 1st and 2nd. I noticed a flat spot around 5100rpm. I talked to Livernois about it and they asked if I could bring it down by the shop and they will data log it and try to get to the bottom of whatever is going on. They did say that the intercooler on our cars suck and it could be the computer pulling timing due to IAT. Just been too busy to get back down there to sync up with them. Looking forward to some track times to compare notes.

One other thing to consider with the before track numbers...I am not certain what type of gas the dealer filled my Edge up when I took delivery. I would assume 87 to save $$. The very next day after taking delivery of the Edge I took it to the track. It had approx 200 miles on the clock. However, the before tune did have a full tank of 93 so the HP number gains are apples to apples. My before track numbers could be slightly on the lower side due to milage and unknown fuel type.

Well...not sure what the DA was but I can tell you that the track is at about 700ft above sea level and the temp was 65 degrees and sunny. All my runs were made at the same track so the only variable is the driver. I made 12 passes, 6 stock and 6 tuned, and used the best pass from each setup for the comparison. I've raced my Mustang at this track and several others and the MPH is consistent in my other car...so I don't think the clocks are off. I would be curious to see what the vbox records compared to what a drag strip timing tower measures during a pass. I'm not to familiar with the vbox...how does it calculate 1/4 mile MPH and ET? If its based off of GPS then its not as accurate as a drag strip. I understand the currently technology is only accurate to withing 10-20 feet. That could be as much as a 40ft differential from start to finish and would allow for elevated MPH numbers. Maybe I just have a slow Edge built on a Friday and that is why my stock numbers are so low. But I think we might be splitting hairs here...I think the important data is that it was a positive gain in performance. The only other mod I've seen with this type of bang for the buck is a NOS kit. They take a lot longer to install and require repeated bottle fills. Loading a tune takes 5min and I never have to worry about running out of power

All runs were made with traction control off and in Sport mode, with the exception of this one. Why are you surprised at the MPH? I think a gain of nearly 8 mph is pretty impressive from just a tune.

Here is a short video from inside the cockpit on one of the runs.

Here are the time slips before and after tune.

13.4 at almost 101mph just now. Too many cars going to call it quits for the year. Will post time slips and a video later.

Made a few passes this morning and the best so far is 13.5 @ 100 mph. Tires either spin or it wheel hops real bad. Looks like the sweet spot for launch is 2200rpm. 1.9 60 ft hope the track gets some heat in it and I can launch a little harder.
