  1. My side sensors seem to go nuts when there's a tractor trailer nearby. It is (of course) not consistent. I think it might have to do with the flat sides of the trailer that get extended by those side skirts that they're using to decrease drag.
  2. That is the first thing I looked for on the order sheet to verify, since I made it a point for the service guy to check that the parts being ordered were in fact different. The parts on the sheet do have the "B" attached to them, so unless they messed that up (not 100% unlikely)....they should be the correct parts. I'm bringing it to my dealership this Saturday, so we'll see what happens.
  3. Got mine back Wednesday night. Drove the 35 minutes home with the A/C seats on full blast the whole time.... There was no difference.... Going to talk to the service guy that set up my appointment today to see if we can figure out why it still isn't working.
  4. Called my dealership about an hour ago and asked them to order the parts per the TSB. Going in to have them replaced next Wednesday! I'll update after the install, hopefully with good news that they now work!
  5. Yea, I saw that and I've seen it posted before, I was just curious to see if there were any differences. I guess all I really have to provide to my dealer is the TSB code.
  6. Does the LED tail light that runs across the liftgate only light up in the Titanium and Sport? Yes. I'm at 3600 miles so far and starting to notice small rattles. Near the driver side door handle, at the base of the steering wheel or around that area (that one is getting super annoying). The very last one is happening near the cup holder black trim area. For the area near the steering wheel, do you have something in that little drawer thing on the left hand side? Not sure about the cup holder area, mine seems fine. Do you store a lot of items in the center console? I would figure that for a brand new vehicle these rattles would start to show up higher up in mileage. Not this early. Unless you have items stored in the car that are causing the rattling, it is caused by other things. Temperature due to expansion and contraction which makes the components rattle because they're made of all difference types of materials. Or the frequency of the car at any given time. In my experience, 4 cylinder engines tend to operate at frequencies that just so happen to be near the resonant frequencies of the materials used in cars. For example, my wife's 4 cyl Accord rattles slightly at stoplights and usually in the winter when it's warming up. This is one of the reasons that I chose the 3.5L V6 Edge.
  7. I'm not an automotive design engineer, but I do know that they generally design headlights and taillights with vents to allow for the air inside the housings to escape when it gets heated up. If they "sealed up" the housings like many of you are suggesting they should do, then the air inside the housings will have nowhere to go when it expands (or contracts when cooled). Eventually, that would probably cause the housing to crack. Then you would have a much larger issue. My suggestion would be to find where the lights vent from and simply avoid spraying water directly in that area. If you spray water above the lights and let the water run down (like rain), you will probably avoid getting as much water in the lights as you are.
  8. Which is why it is recommended that when possible, you should plan to go to multiple places each time you go out and you start with the furthest place first to get the engine up to prime operating temperature.
  9. Yes, I would definitely recommend the 3.5 over any of the EcoBoosts because (from my test driving experiences) it was the smoothest shifting engine of the selection. For perspective, I'm 25 years old and I prefer the smoother ride as well. After all, the Edge is an SUV and not a Tesla or a Ferrari! lol Since the 3.5 is a V6 and a larger engine, it will warm up just fine on its own. The little 2.0L I4 needs a little help so it gets the shutters.
  10. Please definitely update after your repair. And if you can get specific info on how your dealer did the repair, that would be great. My dealership isn't going to budge until they get something from Ford, so hopefully there's an actual service bulletin out.
  11. We got the 3.5. After back-to-back-to-back-etc. test driving each of the engines (all AWD, Titanium), we found that the 3.5 shifted gears the smoothest and had the smoothest overall ride.
  12. I used to only use Shell/Mobil/etc. until I did some research and found that you are better off buying the cheapest gas you can find AS LONG AS that gas station has a high or very high turnover. For example, there is a gas station on my way home that I swear rarely has an empty pump available between 8am and 9pm every day AND it has the cheapest gas within a reasonable driving distance. I go there now and will (as I mentioned above) add some Lucas Oil additive before long trips.
  13. Spoke to my sales guy after he was able to test out an Edge on the lot. He sent me the picture below that shows where the cooling on the seat back was coming from. He also said that he could hear the air flow if he put his ear over this location. I tried it out myself and I can also hear air flow in this location, however, I still do not feel any cooling. So I will probably make a trip out to my dealer within the next week or so to see what it feels like on the car he tried out. Hopefully I can speak with the technician around this time as well to see what he has to say.

    2015 Edge

  15. I haven't used anything on my Edge yet, but I have used this stuff on previous vehicles: http://lucasoil.com/products/fuel-treatments/lucas-fuel-treatment I add it to an empty tank before filling up before a long trip.
  16. Who assigns the case number, the dealership or Ford HQ?
  17. Ok, so picked up my Edge yesterday after work. They installed front and rear splashguards and the rear bumper protector, plus took a look at the seats. There's a lot more to the story, but I'll keep it "short". 1) The technician's report said that he inspected the cooling function on the seats and that they were "working as Ford designed them to". Hearing the service person behind the desk read that to me really pissed me off . After getting the info from this forum that reinforces that the seat back should be cooling, I know for a fact that it is not at all working the way Ford designed it to. 2) I made the service person come out to the car with me and we sat in it for at least 10 minutes with the A/C seats on full blast. SURPRISE SURPRISE...the seat back wasn't cooling at all. My lower back was sweating. What made me mad next was her trying to explain that that's how it's supposed to be . She said that what I needed to do to get the seat back to cool was to turn the climate control to Max A/C and full fan on the feet. And that somehow that was supposed to cool the seat back. I gave her a blank stare for a few seconds and then flat out told her that is impossible and that is not at all how it works. I pulled the "I'm an engineer" card on her and then she stopped bullshitting me. 3) I finally got her to agree that the seat backs are not cooling. I explained to her that I do not expect them to fix it immediately because I understand that they're not going to take any action to fix something like this until Ford tells them exactly how to fix it. Totally understand that, no problem. What I had to hammer into her head was that I needed them to recognize that there is an issue and that the A/C seats are NOT working the way that Ford designed them to. 4) She is going to talk to the technician today and give me a call to update me. After they document it confirming there is an issue, I will call the Ford 800 number to report it. If someone on here can suggest a more efficient way to report the issue, please let me know! 5) I updated my sales guy on the issue and he is going to do some research for me on the Edges in the lot. 6) As the service person was making a note in the ticket that she came out with me and noticed the seats aren't working, I asked the guy next to her if he has heard of this being an issue. He said he knew about the F150 seats having the same issue and that he suspects the seats are the same. He started doing some digging, but I didn't have time to stick around to hear what he found. In conclusion, this problem is not the end of the world and it does not make me want to return the car. However, I am paying a lot of money for this car and I expect everything to either be working 100% on it or for Ford to be actively working to resolve any issues ASAP. I sound like such a customer, but I don't think my expectations are out of this world!
  18. Thank you for that! I have an appointment to bring in my Edge this Saturday. They had no idea that it was an issue on the Edge yet, so they want to diagnose the problem. My hope is one of two things: 1) It's just a disconnected hose, or 2) They can follow the same TSB as the F-150 to fix it. We shall see! If anyone else gets more detailed info on a fix before Saturday, please let me know so I can let them know how someone else resolved it.
  19. That's why I mentioned asking the guy on this forum that has access to the manuals...I just don't know his name lol. Help anyone?
  20. I did an online chat with a Lincoln Concierge when we were checking out the new MKX and asked about the cooled seats. After asking around and emailing me a response a day later, they said that only the bottom of the seat is cooled. I'm not sure if the Edge is supposed to be the same as the MKX in this way, but I suspect it might be. I now have a 2015 Titanium and was disappointed when I found out about the back not being cooled. If someone gets their dealer to give them more information, please share! Otherwise, I suspect that this is how the cooling is supposed to be. I'm not sure who it is that has access to the repair manuals on this site, but I'm sure they could look in the seats section and find some detailed info about the cooling system in the seats. That'll probably give the most detailed answer since if there's no hose hooked up to the seat back, then we have an answer!
  21. I just replaced the halogen daytime running lights (yellow-ish) in my new Edge with LED's (white). They match the LED polygons much better IMO. I was thinking about replacing the front turn signal lights with LED's as well. I'm not sure if I want to simply replace them with amber LED's, or to install switchback white/amber LED's. That way when the car is on, the turn signal lights are white, then they would switch to flashing amber when the turn signal is activated. I think it would be cool, I'm just not sure how much/how involved it would be lol.
  22. The 2016 does not have the new hardware to support SYNC 3. The screen for MFT and SYNC 3 are different. The 2016 MKX has a resistive screen like almost all checkout counter signature pinpads where you have to actually push down on the screen for a response. Meanwhile, SYNC 3 uses a capacitive screen like the iPhone does. Source: I've driven the 2016 MKX and can confirm that is has a resistive screen.
