  1. Don't quote me on this , but yes they will fit. I spent some time at a Ford parts dept today and I got some part #'s, see attached. BUT The parts guy said to do this. Go find an 09 with your trim level (Limited, SEL etc) and get the VIN # off of that Edge then go inside and order a mirror for that Edge. I searched on Amazon and found these http://www.amazon.com/Ford-9T4Z-17K707-C-G...19&sr=1-237 http://www.amazon.com/Ford-9T4Z-17K707-D-G...03&sr=1-252 and a few more. Looks like each mirror will be about $75.00 at Ford. And should just snap off then on. Note to MKX owners: He said if I bring him a 09 MKX VIN he can order a mirror for me. ab
  2. Come on Lex lets be a little more subtle. I want someone to take the bait and ask "how do you properly adjust a mirror." I'm not having any luck at my Lincoln dealer, he says they have had a couple of 09's and they don't have the upgraded mirror. Research continues. ab
  3. OOPPSS I thought I was supposed make a "quick over the shoulder glance. " ab
  4. :beerchug: I've read that it's more of a Fanatically religious maintenance that causes the MAS problems. Regular maintenance = a ok (not great) filter Over maintenance, too much oil on the filter = oil on the MAS = PROBLEMS I've used them on a few cars and have not had any problems but only ok (not great) performance results, verified with a Passport GTimer. I quite using them when I read that when first installed they don't filter all that good but filter better the longer they are on but you start losing the performance gains. ab
  5. My wife is 5’4” and doesn’t have a problem looking over her shoulder. I’m 6’ and when I look over my shoulder I can see a little out of the rear passenger window but SMALL cars and motorcycles hiding behind the post are a problem. ab
  6. If the budget allows I'll be ordering the drivers side from Lincoln. The F250 mirror cost $90.00 so I figure you can add a 1 in front of the 9 for the MKX. I was working with a Ford dealer till someone mention that the MKX mirror is "Driver's Side Electrochromic (Auto Dimming)". Which brings up the passenger mirror. Why would they put a concave (wide angle) mirror on a mirror that already has a wide angle view  ? If they do I won't be replacing ours. The instructions for the F250 are very detailed (5 pages), maybe the Edge/MKX will be the same. A word to the wise: If Ford or GM file bankruptcy and you car is in their service dept. you WILL get you car back SOMEDAY. ab
  7. Not to sure about the Edge/MKX, looks like we'll have to wait a few more weeks. But sometime a picture is worth a thousand words. ab
  8. If it's like my F250 2 screwdrivers 1 on top the other on the bottom (or either side) and just pry it off. But the instructions should come with the new mirror. ab
  9. Our MKX service dept was also confused. So I said to tell the parts dept that he had a 09 with a busted left mirror. He said "OOHH, that would be me today and I'll let me know." This a small dealership, they don't have any 09 MKX's yet. ab
  10. On my way to the Lincoln dealer tomorrow. $$$.00 and part # to follow... maybe. anybody think these will hit ebay anytime soon? ab
  11. Just go up to the top (3rd bar) and click on View New Posts. ab
  12. Sounds like ONE of the reasons we quit buying GM. The local Cadillac dealer had to replace the moon roof 3 times before he figured out that EVERY time the battery was disconnected (another long story) you have to RESET the moon roof. You might want to consider a new stealer. Sounds like he's looking (making) for warranty work. ab
  13. It's E10. We get to use it because it's SSOO much cleaner than straight gas. Especially when you're coasting that 30+ miles PER TANK that real gas would have taken you. ab
  14. Ours is still working for a couple more weeks. What does your display read when you push the AUX button? And what does is say when you then push the AUX and 1 at the same time. Ours does give the serial #. ab
  15. The biggest problem (let's make the only problem) we've had...... The low fuel light keeps coming on. But that must be because we've put on 10,000 miles since mid May 08 :happy feet: . Seriously a bigger tank or better millage and the 09 side mirror's would be nice ab
  16. NOT a big fan of Bridgestone. Started with a 68 Mustang (in 1969) 97 Ranger (Recalled and replaced with Bridgestones) and ended with a 04 BMW X3. TROUBLE with ALL 4 sets. The Pirelli's on our MKX seem to be doing fine. The OEM Pirelli's on my F250 have 40K on them and still look good, they work in the rain, no snow here. ab
  17. Anybody have an update on these mirrors? When will the parts dept. have them? Will there be an 09 Edge? ab
  18. :poke: I was wondering if anyone could read between my lines. ab :beerchug:
  19. Is this adjustment specific to the Limited? The beep on our 08 MKX with THX does not adjust. Per the owners manual "While receiving a warning the radio volume will be reduced to a predetermined level." It would be nice to have a little more beep volume. ab
  20. You're not missing anything. We thought it might be a problem when it hit 105 (we thought we would want to turn them off when back seats are unoccupied) but it hasn't been a problem. Ford probably saves .50 per Edge/MKX multiplied by a few 100k (they hope) Edge/MKX's = $$. ab
  21. Leather with stitching. ab
  22. Memory seat buttons are the only ones you asked about that light. At least on our MKX, we have the PLASTIC  20" wheels. ab
  23. Could be something as simple as a clogged fuel filter, from bad gas. Speaking of bad gas, we had a 10:00 news item late last year. A local gas station replaced 3 engines ( 1 was a 06 Volvo) and an undisclosed # of fuels system purge/clean. But I'm voting on electronics, IF it runs ok except when stopping. Keep us updated. ab
