  1. Will check it out this morning. At a stop sign. I wouldn’t want to take my eyes off of the road; someone might pull out in front of me. This happened to a coworker, she drives looking ahead 2 stripes :o . ab
  2. I did a search for "springs" enjoy :yup: . http://www.fordedgeforum.com/index.php?act...lite=%2Bsprings Here's one of them. http://www.fordedgeforum.com/index.php?sho...&hl=springs and another http://www.fordedgeforum.com/index.php?sho...&hl=springs ab
  3. Sounds like it's freezing because of low Freon. Get it checked, be sure to tell them it only does it on long trips AND starts working AFTER you stop. ab
  4. Not sure about the Edge but the 2010 MKX NOW has rear seat grab handles. They should/might retrofit 07,08's I'm pretty sure the 09's have them. http://www.lincoln.com/mkx/interiorfeatures.asp ab
  5. Before you burn any bridges there a couple of things you need to do. Number 1: Would be don’t go beating up the service dept. (when the lawyers show EVERTHING changes)! Set up an appointment with your service advisor. He is a professional so you should conduct yourself as you would in your profession. Have him check to see if the same tech worked on the problem every time, sometime a NEW set of eyes will see the problem immediately, again be diplomatic. Number 2 have you looked up YOUR states Lemon law. Example: My state has a specific number of failed attempts BUT IT ALSO has a NUMBER of out of service days (something like 30 for the same problem) and several other items that MUST be done/met before we qualify as a lemon. Good luck hopefully your problem will be resolved ab
  6. YEP Velcro (neat stuff but) NOT READY FOR PRIME TIME. It's not just a Ford issue. We have some on our 18 month old 5th wheel I'm replacing it with a REAL latch to hold the storage door closed. ab
  7. I would prefer both, a REAL gauge and an idiot light. That way when I’m reading my paper, texting or talking on the phone  and run off the road hit a piece of scrap metal on the shoulder punching a hole in my radiator the light will come on, then I will look at the gauge and drive another 10 miles to the next station. ab
  8. I just did a quick and dirty Microsoft Street and Trips from down town Toronto to down town Vancover. It suggests leaving Toronto on Hwy 403 to Hwy 402 to US I69 to US I94 to US I90 in Chicago to US I39/90 to back on US I94 to back on US I90 in Billings Montana to US I5 in Seattle Washington to Hwy 15 in Canada to C1 to down town Vancover. Total miles 2715 AND ALMOST NO mountains. ab
  9. It's on the sidewall of the tire, 44 PSI on our 20" Pirelli. BUT I see your point I would max out 6 of the 8 and go with 40 in the front. That's assuming the Edge/trailer will be close to GCWR, ours would be if we were moving that far!! ab
  10. Speaking of wipers. jwalker's problem could be the washer fluid, some of that cheep stuff REALLY STINKS! ab
  11. Watch those RIGHT turns from stop signs and red lights. Pull a little farther out in the intersection before starting your turn, the trailer will turn a little shaper than the Edge. Go with the book on the Over Drive. Our 08 DOES NOT say "DO NOT USE OD" so I would keep it in OD as must as possible. The first time you hit the brakes with your loaded trailer you'll think something is wrong, so ALWAYS ALWAYS leave yourself a good cushion between you and the vehicle in front of you. Loading the trailer is VERY important. Try to load all the heavy stuff over the trailer axle. Our 08 says a max trailer tongue weight of 350/159 lb/kg SO when loaded you should be able to just barely lift the tongue of the trailer. Any heaver and you'll be looking at the sky and replacing the rear tires when they blow out!! Check the air and have it at the MAX pressure in ALL 8 tires. This is the voice of experience speaking, nothing worse than a low or flat spare. Good luck and have a nice trip ab
  12. The 2k rating is conservative (Ford doing a little C Y A) you should be OK. Just be careful going DOWN the mountains! It would be a good idea to change the oil AND transmission fluids when you get to Vancouver. ab
  13. A few of our forum members need to click here. http://www.webpronews.com/topnews/2001/08/...he-verbal-abuse Your Edge is normal our 08 MKX has its horn is on the right side only! ab
  14. Here's a very good thread. http://www.fordedgeforum.com/index.php?sho...amp;hl=pressure The TPMS (Tire Pressure Monitoring System) will probably be your biggest headache. ab
  15. Here's a little research that might change your mind. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/motoring/news/4...belt-scare.html I like this one http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qi...13153256AAwEevE http://www.theautochannel.com/news/2002/02/12/035635.html http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,204188,00.html ab
  16. Typical internet basher pretty quick to document ALL failures BUT a little slow to post the successes??? ab
  17. Explain to me one more time, I'm a little slow. "This can only be done a couple of times before the rotor has to be replaced." Sounds like wore out to me. Here's a pic of the only "wore out" rotor I have. It could have been turned but then you have longer pedal travel, etc. Noisy, NOISY the previous owner rode with his foot on the brake. ab PS: Maybe we should agree to disagree "No, the brake pad wears out, not the rotor." It just needs to be replaced??
  18. But they do wear out. A friend has to put new pads in twice a year and new rotors ever 18 months. His wife drives with one foot on the brake and the other on the gas . ab
  19. I used one on my previous ride. EASY install, as stated above peal and stick. NOTE: YOU only get ONE stick so get it right the first/ONLY time. The kit (brushed alum.) had 50 or so pieces, be very conservitive, step back and look OFTEN, I only used a dozen or so of the pieces!! ab
  20. No screws, take it back. It took them 2 tries to get ours fixed. That was almost a yr ago. If you do put the screws in you'll probably have to get them at a hobby shop, tiny hole in the trim piece. ab
  21. Sounds like a good deal. I checked here, they are usually pretty close. http://www.edmunds.com/new/2009/ford/edge/...s.html?action=2 BUT I'm curious about the "Sport Suspension" :stop: on a 09 NON-Sport Edge ?? The only place I see it is here. http://www.edmunds.com/new/2010/ford/edge/...p;x=85&y=15 64K 22" Bright Polished Aluminum Wheels w/P265/40R22 A/S BSW Tires Includes 22" x 9.0" bright polished aluminum wheels, P265/40R22 all-season BSW tires and modified tuned suspension. ab
  22. Have you seen this? http://www.crutchfield.com/p_127C2RFRD1/PA...ce.html?tp=3486 ab
  23. Have you been up against a strong magnet or a BIG electric motor lately? ab
  24. Greetings Lots of mods here, not much go but a lot of show. Personally I would really like it if someone made our plastic wheels go away. Needless to say I DON'T have wheel locks on them. ab
