I would have gone to a tire store (Discount tire). Will you get free rotation every 5k miles at your dealer? Discount does. Question for the Board. Do tire stores still turn down tires so that all 4 are the same? If they do you would have only had to buy 1. But hay now you have 4 brand new tires. :shades: ab

The worst tires we ever had Bridgestone’s were on our trade-in BMW X3 noisy, thumping at 24K and getting worse, dumped them for some Yokohama’s at 34.4K These Pirelli’s are some of the best we’ve had with 28+K miles they seem to be just as quiet as when they were new. AND it looks like they have 15 to 20K left in them. We do rotate/balance often (good ol Discount Tire) as we have all tires for the past several yrs. ab

I agree with carcondo, I find the brakes ok. This summer we did a little spirited driving on our way from Cripple Creek Colorado (west bound) 30 miles. The Pontiac that was trying to keep up COULDN’T, when I let him pass he COULDN’T get away. I did COOK the brakes but I expected to. No mush at all. After 20 miles it did take progressively more pressure as the brake fluid heated up. There are a few posts on here about mushy brakes so maybe there are some Edge/MKX’s out there with mushy brakes?? Have you considered upgrading your lines to stainless steel? I noticed a HUGE difference when I upgraded my motorcycle to SS lines. http://www.autozone.com/autozone/catalog/a...questid=1748726 ab

SILVERSTAR HEADLIGHT BULBS

Time permitting I’ll install highs next week. I know i know it only takes a couple minutes to buy and a couple minutes to install BUT someone will need to remind me to stop at the auto supply. Maybe I should say memory permitting I’ll install highs next week. Before and after pics to be posted but then there’s that memory thing again. ab -
I’m with DevilBuckeye but I bought one of these https://www.escortradar.com/store/direct-wi...rtcord-red.html mounted it above the map lights, powered it of off a hot lead that goes to the mirror and ran the wire to the left corner. ab

I was waiting on the Silverstar Ultra H11, just found them here. http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_ss_3_18?url...11&sprefix= For the hundred + bucks difference between Silverstar and HID’s wish I hadn’t waited. I will be converting the High beam and fog to Silverstar. ab -
GOOD JOB We looked long and hard for ours without nav and the hole in the roof. I miss the hole but sweetums doesn’t, it’s her’s ride so… BUT now that a review camera is DIY with nav I wish we had it. Still don’t miss the nav, our hand held is still easier, better and doesn’t cost $200.00 to update!.. ab

Fit and finish seem to get the most complaints, except for the PTU issue. The front doors on our 08 MKX didn’t line up with the back doors. The dealer had to send it to a body shop because he adds pinstriping to all his cars. We were in for our first warranty work last month and he has stopped pinstriping . ab

HID with daylight running lights
ablb replied to fordforever41's topic in Interior, A.C., Heat, Interior Trim
This is covered somewhere I just can’t find it. I did a few searches, HID DRL, Canada and found this http://www.fordedgeforum.com/index.php?sho...995&hl=HID* or you might PM retrosolutions I THINK they have a solution. Here’s a link to their group buy. http://www.fordedgeforum.com/index.php?showtopic=2045 Note to Todd: You probably need to start a new thread for your Group Buy. ab -

I was 100% politically correct during this whole process; the only PM from me was a reply notifying him that I had reported him to ADMIN. BUT he just kept it up. Anybody with these kind of issues WILL be back, he’s probably here now as a guest. New ID for BlazedUp coming soon, if not already! ab -

Just be aware that customers that are happy with few or no problems tend to be quietly happy. SOME customers that are unhappy tend to be very VOCAL about their unhappiness. I believe we have one of those unhappy customers on the Ford Edge Forum RIGHT NOW. I made a call today to citi master card opting out of their offer to raise my interest rate to 22.99% . I’ve been a GOOD customer (I don’t carry a balance for the past few yrs, but have paid a lot of interest in the past) for 42 YEARS. Never late UNLESS THEY don’t send me a bill, twice this yr. Etc. etc. Get my point? ab Note: We are EXTREMLY HAPPY with our HID headlights from retroSolutions

Lots of kid room :happy feet: . We haul our 3 and 4 yr old grand kids. The 4 yr old can kick the back of the seat (she has learned that it really hurts  when she does it). She really has to scoot down and stretch to do it. ab

SILVERSTAR HEADLIGHT BULBS
ablb replied to Mr. Westfield's topic in Interior, A.C., Heat, Interior Trim
Probably just my luck but 4 burn outs out of 20+ seem a little high. I am careful when I install, NO TOUCH the quartz!! 2 for a I30 1 of the Silverstars had to be replaced. 6 for a 300ZX no failures. 6 for a X3, 2 failed But BMWs are high maintenance 1 for a Honda VFR no failures 2 in the F250 no failures. 1 in the Yamaha Vmax no failures 1 in the Yamaha XJ750 no failures A friends has 2 (Christmas present from my wife to his) in his Land Cruiser 1 has failed, replaced last week. ab -

SILVERSTAR HEADLIGHT BULBS
ablb replied to Mr. Westfield's topic in Interior, A.C., Heat, Interior Trim
I’ve been using them for several years, but not in the MKX. Silverstars are good, the light is a little brighter and much whiter than regular Halogen BUT they do burn out pretty often. Have you considered HID’s ? There is no comparison to Silverstars, they are unbelievably brighter than Silverstars. I am using them in our MKX and will be converting from Silverstars in the F250, Vmax and XJ750. ab -
I too have several friends and relatives I am referring to Retro. I wish I received all the stuff I order on the internet as fast as Retro delivers. My son bought some HID's for his Tahoe from some other Co. He sent them back, bulbs wouldn't even fit. How's blazeddown :boring: doing? He has the honor of being the first and only on my "Ignored User" list. ab
