You should hear a friend talk about his GREAT and PERFECT Honda. Well great & perfect till he bought his 06 Civic, this is his 6th and last Honda. I’m not exaggerating. On the way from the dealer at the 15 mile mark the right window fell into the door A FEW weeks later RECALL bad shocks In 07 received an extended warranty, odometer reads wrong, class action lawsuit Now his transmission is howling (only 7M google hits http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&lr=...%22&aqi=g10 ) AND several other issues! He IS NOT happy. OH and he won’t be buying a Toyota his brother-in-law has a white 2000 Tacoma. ab

Will there be a 2011 MKX? I can’t see Lincoln continuing the MKX with the MKT setting beside it. ab

Obviously I need to work on my launch. I’ve always noticed how easy it is to spin the tires. Here’s my best effort and a couple other pics. I was surprised at how accurate the speedometer is. ab

When should the Oil be changed the first time
ablb replied to chi town charlie's topic in 2010 Edge & MKX
Sorry can't resist. +1 on "GM doesn't know what it's doing! " But I do agree at least for Corvetts, etc. they probably get broken in before install. ab -
Greetings and welcome. Lots of knowledge here. If you are DIYer check out the Accessories and Modifications forum. ab

When should the Oil be changed the first time
ablb replied to chi town charlie's topic in 2010 Edge & MKX
You might have some warranty issues with the 30 weight. We ( most of us 40+ anyway) are having a hard time realizing that these newer engines DO like 20 weight oil. ab -
On one of the BMW forum’s they have a link that states it is against German law to sell a car in Germany that reads the TRUE speed of the car, THEY have to show you’re going faster than you are. When I put (Edit: change +1) +0 tires on my F250 the speedometer and 3 GPS’s all agree, before it was 2 MPH slower than the GPS. A friend received an extended warranty from a “class action” because not only did his 06 Honda speedometer read wrong but so did the odometer. Which is pretty bad on their part, it was hurting their C A F E. ab

+1 much mush better! ab

Great minds think alike. I’ve wanted to use my GTimer on our MKX. Looks like he launches at about 18, 1900 RPM. The video stops at about :06?? just short of 60, Edges' are supposed to do it in the high :07's. Speaking of 60. I won’t bet the next paycheck but I would bet a LOT that an indicated 60 is really 58 or 59 MPH. I’ll take my GPS and camera when I get a chance to make a couple of 0 to 60’s. ab

OOooPPppSSss I guffed. I was upgrading our High's to Silverstar Ultra 9005. YEP you guessed it I ordered all of the above as 9005 HID instead of H11. Waiting on reply from Retro. ab

SILVERSTAR HEADLIGHT BULBS
ablb replied to Mr. Westfield's topic in Interior, A.C., Heat, Interior Trim
I like and use Sliverstars BUT. If you are looking to use them in the High position because they are a whiter/blue color with your HID's. Save your $’s or get the PIAAs, etc.. Here are some before and after. I took some before looking out the windshield didn't bother taking any after, THEY are yellow compaired to 6000K HID's. 1st pic is silverstar Ultra 9005 2nd is OEM ab -
Somebody correct me but don’t these thing “go to sleep” when turned off after a few minutes? Our BMW (04) wouldn’t “go to sleep” if we left anything plugged into the power outlet = dead battery if not started in a few days. I have a friend that worked at GM. It was his job to change the batteries at the end of the assembly line that were bad from the manufacture. Another friend’s brother works at a Honda dealership it’s his job to change the dead batteries when they unload them at the dealership. One of the batteries in my 05 F250 died this year. ab

Here you go but you’re probably not going to like it. Before you click please note that this is a list of FORD TSB's, if you dig real deap you will find a few (I guess) about the EDGE. Let us know your results. Thanks ab http://www.alldata.com/tsb/Ford/index-post.html

Ford has known about this problem. Evidently some ??,??? def. cores escaped, they just don’t know who got them. http://www.fordedgeforum.com/index.php?sho...5&hl=heater http://www.fordedgeforum.com/index.php?sho...3&hl=heater ab

I probably should use the KISS method. Will 55w HID’s make too much light for an 08 Edge? Thanks ab
-
A friend of mine has a 08 Edge (not a forum member) he likes the 55w HID's I just installed in our MKX. He wants HID’s, I’ll have to install them for him. I’ve convinced him that he wants 5000k instead of the 6000k I have. Should I order 35W or 55W 5000k for his Edge? ab
-
I do that once a year maybe 18 months, but the rest of the time it's off to Discount. Once to the MKX. ab

It's a AWD. 3/32 X 3.14 X 1 revolution = not a considerable amount. ab
