  1. Greetings and welcome We have a few members who are not english 1st language. Take a look here. http://www.fordedgeforum.com/index.php?/topic/4692-roof-rack-removal/page__p__37075__fromsearch__1entry37075 I found it by doing a “search.” The search feature is located close to the top of this page, on the right under “View New Content.” ab
  2. When did you get yours? I'm going to contact Retro to see if they have an "upgrade kit." Thanks ab
  3. I installed a kit from Retro-Solutions, 55W 6000K. 55W it too bright BUT the 35W kit will light the “bulb out indicator.” 6000K is TOO blue; Todd at Retro swapped them for 5000K. Send Todd an email sales@retro-solutions.com , he can answer any questions you have. http://www.fordedgeforum.com/index.php?/topic/2045-digital-35watt-and-55watt-hid-member-pricing/ http://www.retrosolutionsllc.com/servlet/StoreFront The bulb does move but NOT much, not going to be a problem. ab

  5. Found this web site. :happy feet: I’ve already ordered two muffler bearings and some blinker fluid. :hyper: http://kalecoauto.com/index.php?main_page=index&zenid=83318559b6a204ba91b8317dade2c376 ab
  6. I’m curious why did you think the FL400s would work? I few years ago when I switched back to Ford. For the first oil change I was surprised to find out that the good ole FL1 was NOT the filter I needed. ab
  7. What year is your Edge? Just for grins I tried it on our 08 MKX. One foot HARD on the gas. Other foot HARD on the brakes. = The motor DID NOT slow down at all! BUT the brakes DID slow us down and would have maybe :eek5: stopped us BUT I didn't want to burn them up. ab
  8. Have you considered stainless steal brake lines? They WILL make a difference. Take a look at this link. http://www.ajusa.com/browse/Goodridge-Brake-Lines/147/GDR/0?type=&pn=&vc=&year=2007&make=FORD&model=EDGE&go=+ I put some on my 1981 motorcycle…WHAT A DIFFERENCE. Send this Co. an email, they may work with you for some “will fit” lines. http://brakeperformance.com/site/brake_lines.php?&ad=google&osCsid=4ecej2cfev5gla23p1ga6lnf20 Here are their rotors for the Edge. http://brakeperformance.com/site/brake_rotors.php?vtype=1&vmake=62722&vmodel=68549&vyear=68559&vdetail=68564&cPath=1_62722_68549_68559_68564_68566&dv=020410&ad=google ab
  9. My biggest worry is that I have now ADDED to much OIL. :stop: kidding… I’m just kidding!!! ab
  10. I know that candy bars and toilet paper are shrinking. BUT I didn’t know about oil filters! OR did I buy a WalMart made in China counterfeit? ab

    Brakes

ding ding ding you're the winner. You're the first person I've met/seen/talked to who has ACTUALLY SEEN/KNOW OF a Toyota sudden acceleration event. I do know an Audi mechanic who has worked on Audi’s that have suffered sudden acceleration HOWEVER he could NEVER duplicate the condition. ab

    Brakes

e-brakes are gone... They are now a Parking brake, they are very small and can't/won't lock up the rears at much more than walking speeds. ab

    Brakes

It would seem that after being invited to demonstrate his “sudden acceleration” the professor has switched cars and the method he uses to creat his sudden acceleration. Copied from here http://thesouthern.com/news/local/state-and-regional/article_f06e7b66-2081-11df-999b-001cc4c03286.html “Officials with Toyota said in a written statement to various international media outlets it has spoken with Gilbert but says the claims he is now making are different and concern a different vehicle than those they originally spoke about. "Toyota was surprised to learn Mr. Gilbert appears now to be making a different claim regarding the electronic throttle system and in a vehicle other than as described to Toyota last week," the company said. "Although it is difficult to tell from the footage used in the story, Mr. Gilbert appears to be introducing a different external and artificial method to manipulate the throttle." Toyota has requested to evaluate the Avalon used in the demonstration and test the method used by Gilbert in the report.”
  14. One woman claims that she WASN’T texting and the REAL brakes wouldn’t stop her BUT that little bitty “emergency brake” DID! “Parking brake Apply the parking brake whenever the vehicle is parked. To set the parking brake, press the parking brake pedal down until the pedal stops.” ab
  15. Ford started getting better in 1999! HHhhMMmm Does Ford still own Volvo? ab
  16. That 1K $’s or what ever we DID NOT spend on the factory nav gets bigger every day. Our el’cheepO Magellan RoadMate says we are at 875’ (Dallas/Ft worth area) above sea level; our property in Colorado is 8850’, etc. Not very important JUST another example of why Ford, Nissan, etc, etc nav systems are not worth the $’S. OH one other little item. Just checked with Magellan….. $79.99 to update the software. I REALLY would prefer to have a factory installed nav system BUT until they catch up with the hand held units, I’ll save my $’s. ab

    XM Radio

Question for Sirius/XM users??? Terrestrial radio has been fairly successful for a few years living of off commercials. Click here to see where Ron Chapman (Dallas Ft worth radio disc jockey) lives. http://www.aboardtheworld.com/ Why didn’t XM go to commercial broadcast ? ab
  18. Greetings and a late welcome Here are a couple of links, the second is very detailed with pictures. http://www.fordedgeforum.com/index.php?/topic/675-cabin-air-filter-possible-to-add/page__p__4340__fromsearch__1entry4340 http://www.fordedgeforum.com/index.php?/topic/2967-cabin-air-filter-location/ I changed ours in Dec., it's a very easy DIY. BUT you have to get it at a Ford dealer. ab
  19. I bought a few shares of F (wish it was more) @ $2.00, then a few more (wish it was more) @ $2.86. Then sold a few @ $7.72 and more @ $9.20. The tax man is going to really like me. ab
  20. :yup: ME TOO! I usually get this REAL serious look of my face  and say "WWwHHhEEeee thank goodness you have a short and not a LONG it could be really serious if you have a LONG!! " ab
  21. A short would cause the fuse to blow, an open ( bad connection in the socket) would act like a blown bulb. Lots of discussion about burnt tail light sockets, did you notice any discoloration of the socket? http://www.fordedgeforum.com/index.php?/topic/2594-does-anyone-else-have-burnt-taillight-lamps/page__hl__socket ab
  22. YEA that’s why I asked. Boosters look easy BUT I usually end up bleeding because of the sharp edges on the steering brackets…etc. ab
  23. Do you do your own maintenance or repairs? Did you consider changing it yourself? Thanks ab

    Radio

Let’s see… Apple …...... iPod :chairshot: Microsoft … Sync :devil2: HHhMMm :gang: Seriously, start taking some mental notes when your radios shut down. (We don’t have an iPod, our BMW with an add on adapter burned the iPod display out) Example: Radio, iPod on..radio shuts down at 2:05 Stopped at red light or At 2:07 you receive a call answered by sync or Making a full lock left turn in a parking lot ab
  25. Wit and Humor :happy feet: We need some on here every once in a while! ab
