20" Chrome Custom Wheels Mounted!
NYEdge replied to NYEdge's topic in Interior, A.C., Heat, Interior Trim
Saleen, Sorry to hear about your problem. The 20"x8.5" wheels I put on have 275/45/20 rubber. I used my local wheel shop because I trust him to do the right thing. Many different wheels will fit the Edge, but they will not ride properly. My advice; take your time deciding on the wheels and make sure they will fit properly. This is a big financial investment as well as being a big part of the vehicles look. -

20" Chrome Custom Wheels Mounted!
NYEdge replied to NYEdge's topic in Interior, A.C., Heat, Interior Trim
Thanks for the link on the caliper paint. I have an M3 convertible also and I painted the calipers with a spray paint that has a "hammered metal" appearance in a silver color. I'm gonna take a close look at those being that I did it about a year ago to see close how their holding up. I might use the same paint, or choose the black paint on the link you gave in order to keep a clean look with the cars black paint. What do you think of red? Too much? Too often used? Thanks for the input. -
20" Chrome Custom Wheels Mounted!
NYEdge replied to NYEdge's topic in Interior, A.C., Heat, Interior Trim
Thanks for your input. I drove the car for a couple of hours after getting them installed and I must say that there is a definite difference in handling. The combination of the low profile, wider width, and tire tread and compound makes the car stick to the ground while cornering. My Edge AWD previously had great "road grip", but now it seems more intense. The ride seems to be just as before. The steering wheel might be a little heavier at slower speeds, but I will continue to evaluate that. The tires I mounted are Fuzion ZRi. You can read the specifications and review on tire rack. http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires.jsp?ti...8-tr_indiv& As far as pricing, if you shop the market you'll find a slight difference in pricing from one place to another. Being a business owner, I feel strongly about supporting local small businesses in my area, so I choose a local tire shop that services my fleet of vehicles and equipment even though I pay a little more. I'm not a fan of buying tires and wheels online and then bringing them in to a local shop and just pay them to mount them. Good luck on your choose of wheels and tires. -
20" Chrome Custom Wheels Mounted!

"To each his own" I personally don't like the "cartoonish" look of wheels that big. The 20's definitely look custom, and they have a great presence. Looking forward to your pic's with 22's mounted. -
I just got my 20" wheels mounted and I'm lovin it! The Wheels are Zyox, and I mounted 275/45/20 rubber. Check out my album to see the photos, and let me know what you think. I think this link should work, or click my profile picture and go from there. http://www.fordedgeforum.com/index.php?aut...er&user=369

I think that if you have the monetary means to pay for the factory navigation unit, you will be very happy. I also have a Tom-Tom that I use in other vehicles and the Ford unit works more accurately.

Saleen, I checked out the lowering and it looks tight! How much lower? 2" maybe? I was also looking at an expedition in a parking lot today with 20" customs wheels and it looked like it will be real big on my edge when mounted. I can only imagine what the 22's will look like. By the way, did your wheel guy confirm the offset on the wheels your mounting to make sure that you won't be effecting the ride or steering? I had to pas over some wheels in order to get a wheel that fits the requirements. You can mount any wheel that has the same lug pattern, but if the offset is different you may effect the steering and handling of the vehicle.

Lorimarx, I have the navigation in the edge, and it works great. I don't use the POI feature so maybe it does have a limited list, but I'm not really sure. I basically use it with addresses I input. I often have to go to several addresses per day and the unit will optimize your trip so your not running back and forth. Not only is the navigation accurate with directions and almost never looses the GPS signal, but the stereo is upgraded to 9 speakers (4- 2 two way's) and 1 subwoofer. The sound is great! Good luck.

Here's what I'm installing on my Edge next week. (20x8.5) These wheels are manufactured by Zyoxx, ZX7 model. I think they will give a nice custom look without overdoing it. I'll post photos after the install. :hyper:

Saleen, Do you plan on installing the tire pressure monitors on your new 22's? I ordered another set for the 20's I'm installing so I can use the stock wheels during the winter months. (NY gets alot of salt on the roads) The stock sensors mount inside the rim with a band strap that goes around the interior rim. I'll pick up my extra set tomorrow, and I hope that the strap will fit around the upgraded rim.

Hey Saleen, which Foose wheels are you getting? I was looking at the Spank 5 in a 20" size or American Racing Casino in 20" I'm sure the 22's look sick, but I think I'll opt for the 20's for a more subtle upgrade. Let me know what series your wheels are, and what you think of my choices.

I sent a request to K&N about a month ago expressing interest in them producing a cold air induction system, and I would interested in tweaking other things also.
