  1. Not sure if anyone is still looking for a way to use the nav system while in motion, or if it has been figured out yet. I found this on another forum, and it works! 1. Take vehicle outside and agree to nav instructions. The gps needs to know its position. 2. Push hard nav button (on right side of radio). Go to your address book. Pick any of one of your saved addresses. Now that address is highlighted, look to right and push soft edit button. You will now see name of saved address. 3. Clear name of saved address and type in F-DEVELOP ON (make sure to put space between DEVELOP and ON). 4. Now look to the upper left corner and you will see the word ADDRESS. Place your finger directly under the A and hold. If you do this right, the screen should change to the map screen. 5. Now push your hard menu button (on left side of radio). Across top of radio push soft SECURITY button. You have now entered security screen. You will see nothing in the lower right most corner of nav screen. Push your finger and hold in that position till the screen changes. 6. You now have entered a parameter screen. Locate DRIVING RESTRICTIONS release. When you push the button it should change to driving restrictions stop. Exit the screen by pushing the soft BACK button. 7. Congrats you have just programmed your factory nav radio. NOTE: Every time you turn your vehicle off, you will need to repeat steps 5 & 6. Good luck and enjoy. If you choose to monkey around with your other parameters, do so at your own risk. I will not be responsible for your dealer service call. This programming sequence should work for only the so called first generation navs. It will not work on the 09, second generation. This has been used to reprogram many 07 and 08 Ford vehicles.
  2. Yes, that's the seller. They don't skip while driving and for the price, it has been well worth it.
  3. Hey Lex, how has the paint on the calipers held up? I'm about to upgrade the rotors with cross drilled & slotted rotors with new ceramic pads. (I'll post the outcome) I was thinking of painting the calipers either black or silver and I wanted to know how yours held up. Thanks.
  4. I have the H&R springs installed and they are great. I did a 4-wheel alignment after the install and I haven't had any unusual tire wear.
  5. Here's the part #'s used on my repairs: 1st Repair: 7E57*7275*D (Seal Kit), 7T4Z*7251*D (Power Take Off Assembly) 2nd Repair: 7T4Z*7251*D (Power Take Off Assembly) Since the first PTU didn't hold up, I don't expect the second one to work either.
  6. I got an update from the dealer after I dropped my Edge off on Wednesday. Looks like the second PTU is about to be replaced. My Edge was the first vehicle that my dealer had serviced last December with the PTU problem and they went through the standard procedure of replacing the seals which of course leaked, and then replaced the PTU. Now that the PTU is being replaced again, I hope that the units now have better parts and this won't continue to happen.
  7. Sorry to say it, but it's probably the PTU leaking. Check under the car to make sure that you didn't get a plastic bag blown on to the exhaust pipe. The "classic" PTU leak smell usually works like this; When you drive your car and stop at a traffic light, parking spot, etc..., it will start the smell usually when you stop. You will usually have a very distinct smell and probally some smoke / haze coming in to the cabin from under the car. My Edge had the seals replaced and then the PTU last year. My car was one of the first and parts were not available so the process took over a month. Now my Edge has started to smoke again this week and I have already made an appointment at the dealer. Just waiting for a loaner car to be available. They said that since this has been a more common problem; the parts are more readily available, and the mechanic should be able to turn it over fast. The only thing that keeps me from totally freaking out is that the 5 yr. 50k powertrain warranty will cover this after I go over the 36k mile mark soon. Good luck
  8. As mentioned by other members in the other thread you have about the fogs; the splash guard should be moved out of the way. It is a very simple process and you shouldn't have any trouble. I think the hole process took around 15-20 minutes for both sides.
  9. Killermaze: I actually do have 20% on the front driver / passenger, but with the angle of the photo and the light coming through the windshield, it looks lighter in the photo. I have been stopped once since tinting last year and I was able to get out of the ticket. :happy feet: Thanks for your comments.
  10. I replaced my fog bubs last year with MTEC's racing halogen H11 12v 55W. The color I choose was yellow (they call it golden style MT-494) so that I can see better in the fog, and to be a little different from the other Edge's. All you have to do is get on your back and slide under the front valance to do the swap.
  11. Over the past couple of weeks my light has also come on when traveling at highway speeds only. The tire pressure is fine, so that's not the problem. I'll probably wait until I switch out my chrome wheels for the stock wheels for winter riding. Both sets have sensors and I have the learning tool to read the sensors into the cars computer.
  12. Although I don't like the wood kit for the Edge, the fit and finish look great. Enjoy.
  13. Thanks for the compliment on the wheels. I also took off all the rear badging like some others on this site. From the rear it's completely blacked out.
  14. I don't have my manual in front of me, but I'd check again. I bought my Edge in March 2007 and mine definitely has it. If you drop the pressure in one of your tires by a couple of pounds below the rated psi, you should get the warning after driving a short period.
  15. That's the wiper fluid spray nozzle for the rear glass. I know for sure because I've taken out the lens cover before.
