You can disable auto start/stop with Forscan.

Did you bench bleed the master cylinder? You have to get all the air out of the MC, then work on the lines. If so, then you either have a kinked metal line, a bad rubber hose, or a caliper that is somehow blocked internally (I doubt that).

I'm sure Ford did some research and found 99% of drivers never exceed 4000 RPMs, so lets's just run a tiny turbo to make it all bottom end. People buy em like mad so....

I parked my white Edge under the weird tree
IWRBB replied to t0lkman's topic in Appearance - Detailing, Wash & Wax
Clay bar the whole vehicle and then wax it. Will look better than new. I've pulled dirt out of factory paint jobs with clay bar, it'll definable get that stuff off. Don;t be afraid of the clay, it's easy to use and you will not hurt your paint unless you drop it on the ground and keep using it with grit stuck in it. -
Throw that away. Buy a new part. Install new part.

Need 12 volt power only when ignition on
IWRBB replied to Xtxman's topic in Accessories & Modifications
I like using the windshield wiper circuit for low draw stuff like that. It's switched power in every car on the planet, and it's always a beefy circuit. -
Historically, Pioneer has made good head units. However, is that a fold down face? That may not work. Crutchfield says it's not recommend in their listing. You are also losing Sync altogether with that HU, however with the right hardware you can still use you steering wheel buttons for volume, etc.

Jack points and jack stand placements?
IWRBB replied to Vortechtral's topic in Brakes, Chassis & Suspension
Once you work on cars long enough- it's obvious what can take the forces imparted from a jack or stands. Frame rails, engine and suspension cross members, control arms under the spring pocket, etc... Definitely intimidating for someone new to it though. -
An after re-fueling starting issue on a 2005+ish Fords is the evap purge valve 99% of the time. They are typically $35-$40 on Amazon and are easy to replace.

We have two of them- both 1.6Ga'/flush models, one has the extended bowl, the other doesn't. Both flush like a "Champion". The do have a 1.2G/flush model but I didn't try those. Going with the Kohler Cimmaron in the latest remodel due to it being a bit smaller in dimensions, supposed to also flush anything and everything. It's worth replacing old toilets with high quality low-flows. Way less water usage and way better flushing. Best of both worlds.

Champion 4. I threw the plunger in the garbage.

Thanks for the suggestion, but I won't be contacting my EPA about it. I have no desire to ever contact a government employee for anything unless absolutely necessary. I am comfortable disposing it the way I do and will continue to do so. It's a small amount, on an infrequent basis, going into a huge yard. It's in no way harmful to any animals, the soil, or the streams. Ethylene glycol quickly breaks down in the soil into harmless components. I'd also like to add that the reason RV anti-freeze is considered "non-toxic" and automotive is considered "toxic" is simply due to how the human body processes them. When processed by the human body, automotive AF breaks down into stuff that is damaging, however the RV AF doesn't. Outside of the human body though, there's nothing inherently more or less damaging to the environment when you look at the different types of glycol. Both quickly break down in the soil without issue, assuming we are talking reasonable concentrations.
-
I let it run down the driveway and into the grass along with all the other water used to flush the system. Ethylene glycol chemically breaks down in soil in a few weeks. I guess you could argue there are some trace heavy metals in there- but calling it "hazardous waste" is a bit of a stretch. You know they spray that same "hazardous waste" all over planes that have hundreds of people inside it, hundreds of times a day, for months on end. The call it "de-icing" but they should just call it an ethylene glycol shower. It's not hazardous unless you go drinking it.

It's not irrational to fear people who are taught from childhood that you are an infidel who should die, is it? As far as your conspiracy thoughts- please, name ONE thing I posted that isn't 100% true. If you don't think they want open borders, I can prove that's false- they do want open borders. If you don't think they want the USA to become a socialist state, again, you are wrong. The left is currently pushing "democratic socialism", cause, you know that's different socialism and it'll work this time. Sorry dude, but I 'm not bending to the left's loony demands and ideas. Not. One. Bit. I do not want the politicians I elect to give into any of that crap either. I 100% reject globlism and the left elitist attitude.
-
I totally disagree. There is no middle. The left wants open borders and socialism as their ultimate end goals. Those things are not compatible with the American way of life. We are literally in a struggle for the very existence of western culture right now. Liberals promote acceptance of Sharia law and the importation of mass amount of Muslims, both of which openly call for the downfall of all non-Muslims. No, right now, the Republicans need to make a stand against the immorality and foreign invaders that the democrats are promoting. Moderating towards the liberal agenda is completely insane. The silent majority wants a moral country that is not full of foreign invaders who both hate you and want you dead.

All the doubters just need to look at what happened with the EU. They blinked. Everyone else will too. They have no choice. Trump ain't just fucking around and doing one big long world apology tour like Barry did. Trump will negotiate substantially better trade deals for our country than any previous president.
-
Make all the smarmie remarks you'd like. We are done being screwed by everyone and being the world's piggybank. The EU didn't put up much of a fight at all, despite a bunch of rhetoric thrown about for the last few months. The USA is the 800 lb gorilla in the economic room. Canada is a fly on our ass.

Reasonable quotes for services??
IWRBB replied to TmoodEdge's topic in Dealership & Vendor Experiences
Go for it. The only issue I had was one of the plug boots stuck to a plug on one of the rear plugs when I pulled the coil. You have to get the boot off to get the plug out- so I used my one of my pick tools to go along side it, then turned it to catch under the boot and pulled it up. Other than that it was easy. Manifold R&R was cake. -
Its really not that big of a deal, you will just have to push on the pedal harder if it fails while you are driving- it'll still stop. Replacing it isn't that big of a deal either, so there's no reason to fear replacing/paying for it yourself.

I wouldn't say permitting is any worse here than other places, and I'm in the same business. Depends on what you mean by "road". That covers anything from a 25 MPH residential street to a new Interstate highway. Depends on what agencies are involved, are their stream impacts, etc. If the county I lived in wants to expand a local county road, they put it on the CIP list and it goes out to the planners and traffic engineers when funds are available. Typically its a 6 months to a year to get plans drawn up and approved from the time they say go. Could be built in 2 years from the word go. That's not unreasonable considering the amount of work involved. We are located just north the the Cincinnati metro area, so there is plenty of existing capacity for things like trash. We built a new jail before is was needed for capacity. It's wasn't a huge waste of money because Hamilton County (the County Cincinnati is located in) has a jail that is old and completely overflowing, so they pay our county to house their prisoners there. Once we have the need for that space we can tell them no, and use it ourselves. Maybe we are just lucky and are in the right spot at the right time. Physical barriers are few, there are no mountains or huge rivers. Soils are good, generally no rock to deal with when putting in gravity sewer lines. We are the high point the area, so flooding is not an issue.

My Kids Chose Japanese Competitors
IWRBB replied to pintokid's topic in Competing Crossovers & Vehicles
I'manedgeowner: I'm not angry. You can rationalize it all you want- but buying foreign cars is not good for America, plain and simple. You know, I know it, everybody knows it. You have a beef against the US government due to their treatment of you as a disabled vet? I'm sure you are entitled to that complaint. However, the "America" is us- all of us, the people. Economic policy is 100% debatable- there is no proven right answer, so I won't go there at all. -
When the tax base gets significantly bigger every day there's no reason a fast growing community shouldn't be able to keep up. It's the areas with declining populations that are screwed. We have tons of new houses going up in our county, as do the neighboring counties as well. Both are the fastest growing in the whole state. There's really no issues with traffic, crime, or schools in either county. If we need bigger roads, they get built. If we need a bigger school, it gets built. All those new houses take agricultural land that generated jack shit for taxes and turned it into $20K per acre per year subdivided lots. You can buy a whole lotta shit with the property taxes from just 500 new homes. 500 homes @ $5000/yr taxes = $2.5 million *per year*. Homes that paid large separate up front impact fees to connect to the the water and sewer systems. All that new tax money goes to upgrading roads, building new schools and expanding emergency services. If you guys are living in areas where growth is causing a bunch of problems, then you are 100% correct- the people running the show don't know what they are doing, or they are just flat out corrupt and are fucking everyone in the county to benefit their developer friends as you guys insinuate. Time to either move or get political.
-
So you are a bit salty that private land owners were able to develop their own private property to it's greatest value, and your idealic country county is now all suburb-ed up n shit? Ehh, that's the way it goes. We got more people all the time- we need more houses. Buy a bunch of land when you move further out, then you (or most likely your kids) can be the one making bank selling it to a developer in 30 years. Most important thing is gravity sewer service, or at least the feasibility of constructing one.

Wow, 20+ lbs of boost huh. Those IAT2s seem REALLY high to me. 160-180 from intercooled twin turbos?
