Does anyone know if this was a de-tune, or some material change to this engine?

Can I ask that someone actually find a way to measure the temp. so we can get a feel to what "Hot" means. Are we talking over 100 degrees? Higher?

I wonder what happened Apr 27 that changed things? Better yet, how do they know with any certainty that their production process had not headed south the day, or week before?- 478 replies

Please use this thread to report the results of your dealer sealing your 2015 Edge. What are your results? Are your footwells now dry and is this issue now behind you? I hope so, but let's see.... *Edited to ask for additional info. Please disclose whether or not your Edge leaked before your dealer worked on it.

Ahhh, that's the rub! Ford should not have to force the dealers to do anything. It is in their collective self interest to make customers happy.

Perhaps, but at the end of the day it is customer satisfaction that should be the single prime consideration of both entities. Owners don't care who is @ fault here all they care about is being given the best possible service with as little inconvenience as is possible. Sadly that concept was found lacking here. This standard of service would not be satisfactory on a newly purchased used car and inexcusable on a new one.

WN; I forgot to ask...Can you open the back hatch with the canoe on top? Your picture makes me think no. -
Does anyone know what the range of boost pressures are with this turbo? Does it have a boost gauge, and I would guess it has some sort of overpressure pop off valve as well? If there is a pop off valve, is its trigger value known?

What did you own before buying your 2015 Edge?

Ford seems to be having a tough go of it with the Escape, I see that it is being recalled again. I hope the new Edge fares a lot better! -

This issue makes it hard to seriously consider the purchase of this vehicle. I does beg the question though, how will prospective buyers know when the issue receives a seal re-design or a "as built" fix? It would also be interesting to know just how many people's cars are plagued with this issue. We need a poll to help with that, but I don't see that option on this forum. Another question I had was just how much rain fall is required for this issue to show itself? Is a single trip through a car wash enough to show this flaw? I also wonder if and when this issue is resolved on the plant floor how long before we see the results of that "fix"? Let's hope that the fix happens soon, but my heart goes out to those owners being affected now and can only hope for a permanent fix for them soon.- 478 replies

A question for the folks that are seeing wet carpets. Are any of you using any brand of "all weather rubber floor liners"? I am just trying to figure out if the area that Ford is re-sealing is really the only source of water infiltration? I am guessing that if you have water contained in a rubber lined floor mat that the source of the water is somewhere other than the place the sealant is being added. Just thinking out loud here...

Is there not a sticker on the door sill that reflects the build date along with recommended tire pressures and weight info? That should reflect the actual build date I would have thought. It might prove useful for everyone to post their build dates as that might prove to be helpful going forward. Can someone snap a picture of the water pooling as a result of this bad seal?

What did you own before buying your 2015 Edge?

I am looking for a replacement for my ageing Chevy Blazer 4 X 4 and have decided that I don't need another 4 X 4 so a front wheel drive vehicle seems like a good fit. I must say I am still not sure which vehicle will work best for me, but the Edge that I did a test drive in seemed very nice. I was curious in knowing what you had, and what sold you on the Edge? I think the Escape might have worked for me except I will need to tow a boat and wanted a V-6. I drove a Chevy V-6 powered Equinox and it drove nicely also. My biggest problem is comparing "anything" to my old Blazer is like comparing a Model T to a Ferrari. What vehicles did you drive in your search to find a new vehicle? -

WN; Please take a close up picture of how that rack attaches to the car. It looks like it fits between the body and the rubber seal around the windows. Is that right, and if so, does that degrade the sealing capability of those window seals? In other words: How has it done in all the rain we have had in the last couple of days? Thanks! -
Thanks for the info. / pictures WingNut!

Thanks summer! I for one would really like to see more pictures of the new 2015 Edge in all of its available colors. Color chip's don't do a very good job of representing the "true" colors. Thanks to all that have posted so far! If any of you have the optional roof rails please measure the height of them. I am trying to sort out how to build a rack for my canoe that will clear that shark fin antennae.

Thank you for the picture. Nice! One other favor to ask. Can you measure the height of the "shark fin antenna" on the roof. In other words how tall is it? Thanks.

Is the color "Magnetic" new for 2015? I can't tell from the brochure what it looks like, so can an owner having this color post a side view of their Edge in a reply? Another question is the auto-start-stop feature an option or is it standard?

Hello all, new here, and I have come to find out more about the 2015 Edge. I find myself looking to replace my aging Chevy Blazer and the Edge might just fit my current needs in a vehicle. I just test drove a SE and found it to be a very comfortable quiet ride. In the process of doing a little home work on this new Edge I have a couple of questions for anyone who might be able to answer them. The first is that I plan to tow a small bass boat (+- 3000 lbs.) and wondered how the V-6, and the vehicle in general handles towing applications when equipped with the tow package? Next is the question is about roof rails and the cross bars for those roof rails. I see that I can get the roof rails as an option, but the cross bars that would go with them are an astounding $539 additional cost item. I am thinking they must be an overpriced Thule add on, but I can't determine that. They seem to have a Ford part no. VFT4Z-7855100-A, but I can't believe that there isn't a standard Ford part (like on the Escape / Explorer) that will do the same job @ one 1/4 of the cost. Does anyone have experience with this item? Thanks!
