  1. Exactly what I had in mind. Thanks so much!
  2. Thanks for this! I have to wonder if the re-flash performed in TSB 15-0123 is something that all 3.5's will require?
  3. https://media.ford.com/content/fordmedia/fna/us/en/news/2015/09/15/ford-adaptive-steering-system-launching-on-2016-ford-edge-will-change-how-the-world-turns.html
  4. I am trying to get a feel for how the various available wheels look on the new Edge. Having said this, I am in hopes that I can get new owners to post up a close up wheel picture and then take a second side profile picture that will show how those wheels look on your vehicle. Please ID the wheel using the Ford description i.e. "20" Polished Al. w/ Dark Stainless-Painted Pockets" If you happen to have installed an aftermarket wheel set, post those up too. Thanks
  5. Thanks! I called my local dealer and found out that there is another cross bar kit that will fit the Edge and it is much less than the other kit. If you have the roof rails on your Edge then all you need is Cross bar kit p/n 7T4Z7855100-BA listed @ $135. from Ford, but is available from an Amazon Ford dealer for a bit less. This is the way to go if all you need cross bars. I still need to get the weight capacity of these, but expect they will work fine for my 70 lb. canoe. http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00BOA9BXC/ref=dra_a_rv_ff_fx_it_P2000_1000?tag=dradisplay-20&ascsubtag=f0e8c00c7c2785d7d8fdddd43e3a581c_S&dra_hfr=x&dra_ohs=24-24
  6. I hate to quote myself, but has anyone purchased their Edge with roof rails and then gone on and bought the cross bars from the Ford Accessory catalog? The total price for rails and the cross bars with the VFT4Z suffix not including labor (not sure what it takes to add cross bars) is over $700. which is insane. If you went aftermarket like Wing Nut please indicate what you bought and its cost. Thanks!
  7. Folks I am having a tough time following this discussion. The pictures look like two inch class 3 receivers yet the spec. says Class 2 which is smaller. Is the spec. wrong?
  8. A couple of questions; Has it always sounded like this or did it just start? Does it drive any different than when new? If it is a bit more sluggish I would have to guess the turbo outlet hose is loose and or leaking.
  9. Very thoughtful answer, thanks! You are right about the question being elusive, and the answer seems to be even more so. I am wondering about the 3.5 installed in the 2015 Edge. I've seen images of the "catch contents" removed from catch cans installed onto DI motors across the spectrum of brand lines and I am amazed at the amount of condensed oil & water vapor that these catch cans remove from the pcv stream. It does make you wonder what the back sides of intake valves on these DI engines will look like after 50K mileage without some way to remove those vapors?
  10. Has anyone installed a catch can on their 3.5 DI engine? It seems there is ample justification for the use of these things given the plumbing of the PVC stream into the intake track and the oil vapors which are drawn past the intake valves. Anyone have any experience with one on the 3.5?
  11. Thanks. Very informative! This looks like a nightmare for owners and perspective owners alike.
  12. I have read in a couple of threads here that there is now a production hold in place for the 2015 Edge. I will make the assumption that it is for the water intrusion issue, but I don't know that for sure. Can anyone verify this "hold" if true, and its reason from a reliable source?
  13. I was afraid of this! This is an off the wall question given what you have reported, but was there any reduction in water intrusion into the cabin after the so-called repair? What will be your next step?
  14. Thanks for the link, but I still want some input on its use.
  15. First off, Is it available yet? If so, then does anyone have it and what do you think of the feature? I must admit that this feature looks to me to become a maint. nightmare later on in the Edge's service life.
  16. cds; I can't say that this is the entire doc., but here is what I found.
  17. Pete; Which engine is in your wife's car that has the problem, and what sort of problem does it have?
  18. Is this after it was "re-sealed" by your dealer?
  19. Orange peel is primarily what I was interested in hearing about. Several weeks ago I was up walking the local dealers lot and there were two Edges parked next to one another. There was a pretty serious difference in the paint quality in one of those. One had what I would consider typical when judged by industry standards, while the other had pretty serious orange peel on several vertical body panels. Both vehicles were "Ruby Red".
