I was curious about trying to play a USB loaded with music using a “shuffle play” mode in my 2016 Ti. with the Sony 12 speaker system. I dug out the owner’s manual and while the instructions showed a different screen with hard buttons and said to hit the “media” button and go into the USB menu and select shuffle play I can’t find any such method available on my soft touch screen. I tried to use the verbal method and did get deeper into some different menu settings, none of them seem to respond to touching them. Can anyone here help and offer up a suggestion to use a shuffle mode playback?

Out of curiosity what is the result of not re-setting the BMS after a battery replacement? Would there be any point in doing a BMS reset a couple of years after that battery replacement? Has anyone used the info. expressed in the video above for said BMS reset and if so, what was the result?

I love these "Hogs"! Any of you pilots have a feel for how much "slide slip" the quicker aircraft might experience when doing the sharp banks @ say 400-450K. within the canyon walls?

Is the small icon in the side view mirror supposed to illuminate when the de-fog / de-ice system is energized? I've had this vehicle for almost 5 years and just noticed that mine does not. So the question becomes, should it?

I have done the mental back and forth over removing the shield as well. I got a small battery powered nut driver and an adapter to hold the torx bit, and as Todd suggests it takes just a few minutes to remove. One consideration I had but did not explore is: Would any noticeable wind noise be generated by turbulent air from its removal? I was just too lazy to do the R & D to find out.

I believe there is. Being internal in the engine it is being placed at risk of by two different fluids, oil and coolant. It is my belief that using a full synthetic oil and changing it more frequently than Ford recommends and doing the same for coolant will help extend the life of this water pump.

Stick with your plan and see how it works out for you.

Ford has basically told all owners of vehicles with the orange coolant to change it. Also regardless of mileage, a change should be done every five years. See the attached service advisory above and this:

I am having the orange coolant changed out of my 2016 3.5. I wanted to get the orange stuff out and replaced with 10X Peak. My original plan was to get a "flush" as part of the plan, but after looking at the heater lines where I assume the flush T fitting would have to go I am spooked. While I can only see an obstructed view, I am concerned about the possibility of a fitting failure later in time and not being able to get to it without a lift. With this in mind and since this vehicle has low miles (< 16 K) I now am thinking about a drain and replace. What do you all think about my concerns? Comments?

Do yourself a favor. Go buy a smart float charger like Battery Tender or Battery Tender Jr. I had similar issues with batteries (2) on my Edge, but since starting to use my Battery Tender when I know I will not be driving it for several days, or even after a long drive. It is interesting to see how long it takes the Battery Tender to indicate that the battery is fully charged after driving it on fairly long trips. (as indicated by a solid green led on the charger) I offer this as a possible fix for your complaint only if there are no outstanding charge / discharge issues that may exist. Over the years I have discovered that these vehicles a voltage hogs!

Actually what you describe were "A" models. (02-A's) Our's were unharmed psy-ops 02-B's equipped with one 1500 watt speaker which we blasted the VC with propaganda. We also rocked our "Grunt" brethren manning mission local firebases with a little Jimi Hendrix "Purple Haze" which was always greatly appreciated. Here is a picture of the speaker on the side of the aircraft.

Coming from someone who may have had involvement with F-4's, I consider that a compliment.

I just changed my battery. What a thrill that was!
