Well, well, well, looks like two-tone may return. https://jalopnik.com/two-tone-paint-is-the-big-new-trend-in-car-design-1819749106 -
Thanks! Anybody else?

How many miles did you get out of your 20" Pirelli Scorpion OEM tires before you replaced them, and what did you replace them with? Also, please give a 1-5 score (with 5 being aggressive) on your driving style over the life of these tires.

I have been listening to this new work by Jason & Co. and found this. It's a good sample of this record. http://www.npr.org/event/music/545844291/jason-isbell-tiny-desk-concert

What changes would you like to see for the 2018 Edge?
Chipster replied to Chipster's topic in 2017-2018 Edge & MKX
Having had my Edge now for awhile now, I would like to have better interior lighting, especially in the back. An overhead lamp in the rear top projected downward would be more helpful than is the side mounted light which (for me) is blocked by my fishing stuff when I am packing for a fishing trip the night before. -

Sound check for 2nd gen. owners
Chipster replied to Chipster's topic in Audio, Backup, Navigation & SYNC
Did you by chance do a sound check before you changed out the second replacement pair? In other words, if you replaced the front speakers (or back) first did you check out how the system sounded before changing out the second speaker set. If so, can you quantify the sound / imaging improvement?(I know that might be tough) -

Bill; What model / brand speakers did you use for your replacement? -
DETROIT -- Ford Motor Co. said Tuesday that it is recalling about 6,000 Ford Edge, Ford Fusion and Lincoln MKZ 2.0-liter gasoline vehicles that have improperly welded torque converter studs. The automaker said the affected vehicles, which come with a 6F35 transmission, could lose power, increasing the risk of a crash. Ford said it's not aware of any accidents or injuries related to the problem. The affected vehicles are: •2017 Ford Edge crossovers built at Oakville (Ontario) Assembly Plant from April 25 to June 20. •2017 Ford Fusion sedans built at Hermosillo (Mexico) Assembly Plant from May 4 to June 19. •2017 Lincoln MKZ sedans built at Hermosillo from May 4 to June 19. In each case, dealers will replace the affected parts for free. http://www.autonews.com/article/20170711/OEM11/170719926/ford-recalls-6000-edge-fusion-and-mkz-vehicles-in-north-america

Random non-repeated error messages on 2nd gen Edge
Chipster replied to Chipster's topic in 2015+ Edge & MKX Generation II
Test no. 4 was the tell. My Ford Dealer did a load discharge and full recharge test and discovered that a battery cell was indeed failing. They replaced the battery under warranty and hopefully that will be the end of my issues. I just hope that there is not a parasitic voltage draw lurking somewhere that promoted the battery issue. -
Random non-repeated error messages on 2nd gen Edge

Well here is the rub. I went to get it checked again and was told it was good. As they removed the gear I was told it just needed to be re-charged. I told them that it had been on a float charger over night and that the Battery Tender was giving me a solid green light the next morning indicating a full charge. When I asked for the voltage I was told 12.48 V. This strikes me a low and would have expected a reading of 12.7 + or so. So I'll keep an eye on the voltage and if it falls into the low 12's I'll get my dealer to check it out. What I did discover is that (at least for this last check) their equipment will not detect a failing cell only a dead cell. No loose nickel's for you boy's just yet, but perhaps I should grab a roll the next time I visit my bank... -

No, it's not that. -
After a year and a half of ownership I have been more than pleased with my Edge. Having said this, I must admit to been a little concerned and a bit puzzled by occasional error / fault messages displayed on my dash. The first occurred several months ago was a "Nav. system failure" I don't have GPS, so I don't know what it was telling me. After a re-start the warning went away. This week as I was backing out of my garage I got a "traction control" & "hill holder" failure and the FM radio station I was listening to was "not available". On re-start (re-boot?) all the fault warning went away and the radio station came in loud and clear. I feared that any vehicle that has as much "fluff" as my Edge does (most other up optioned vehicles as well) would be subject to this sort of issue, as these vehicles ECM, BCM, & ECU modules age and heat cycle through the heat of summer. Has anyone else experience these sort of non-repeated system failure warnings?

Using one of these will do wonders in extending battery life. Just use the included quick connect / disconnect and you will extend the life of your battery if you use it regularly. https://www.amazon.com/Battery-Tender-021-0128-Maintain-Damaging/dp/B00068XCQU/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1498682278&sr=8-1&keywords=deltran+battery+tenders

Mother's speed clay product?
Chipster replied to Chipster's topic in Appearance - Detailing, Wash & Wax
The online prices were all over the place when I was looking. One site had it on sale for $13.00, I got mine on sale from a local O' Reilly's for $17.00. I think reg. retail price is +- $20. I bought my reg. Mothers clay set for +- $16.00 three years ago. -
I had to!

Mother's speed clay product?
Chipster replied to Chipster's topic in Appearance - Detailing, Wash & Wax
As a follow up: I have now used the "speed clay" several times and it seems to be getting more clay like with each use. What I mean is that the surface is getting softer and stickier with each additional use. Who knows, maybe it will do a better, (more directly comparable to reg. clay products) job with additional use? -
This should be an interesting CD.
