Greetings all,
New to the forum and I hope someone can help out.
I own a 2012 Ford Edge SEL with the 3.5L V-6.
~ 30K miles.
I was performing some routine preventative maintenance today that I have done for years on other vehicles, including late model Fords. Using a turkey baster I sucked the power steering fluid out of the canister located on the passenger side near the front of dash. (fire wall to old timers) When I replenished the fluid in the canister the amount added to the refill line was not even close to the amount I took out. For example, I took out ~10oz but could only put back 5oz. This has me concerned. I warmed up the vehicle, turned the wheel back and forth to full lock multiple times. Then took her out for a multi mile spin. Brought her home and still the fluid level was not low. I know it sounds silly, but I am concerned I did something wrong and will destroy the steering system. In the old days ps systems were self bleeding if air got in, which I do not believe happened in this case. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
